The wait staff does not pick up dishes at tables outside when dining and the birds dive bomb you! This has happened the last 2 times eating there. Looked at other diners there and same thing happening to them. Very unappetizing! PaI'd bill and sat in dirty dishes until I removed them to another table and they sat there.Were still there when I left. read more

So grateful for the experience at this resort. My husband and I were staying here because of it proximity to Los Osos Cemetery for a funeral we were attending and we were arriving early on Friday before the service and we spoke with Debbie at the front desk to accommodate an early check in if possible to freshen up from the 6 hour drive up to the resort. Debbie was so helpful and set us up with room 209 which provided such a peaceful view and experience under such difficult circumstances of our friend's passing. We enjoyed every aspect of this resort. The clubhouse provided delicious meals and we even enjoyed chipping and putting practice. We can't wait to return here for another visit. read more

We took a nice walk through Montana De Oro today, its was a bit foggy and certainly made it a cooler day. Not to hot to walk and I worked up an appetite, that'll happen with some fresh air. I had seen the Restaurant sign there with the golf club and remembered a past friend had said it was a good place to have a meal...so as timing would have it coming down the hill I changed my mind on our spot for lunch and made a quick turn into the street to the golf club and restaurant. I had to wind around a bit to get to their front door but easy enough, plenty of parking and in we went. Check in with the bartender for a seat, okay. We sat at our choice of table and following us was our server with menus and cloth wrapped napkin hiding the flatware. Nice touch for a casual dining room. Water all around and we looked over the menu, quite extensive too. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. Wow where to start. As I looked around there were several flat screen t.v.'s, a nice looking bar, plenty of room amongst the scattered tables, and a large patio with some umbrella covered tables. Our server was attentive, quick, intuitive, and knowledgable about the offerings, cool. M went with the clam chowder and a shrimp and crab melt accompanied by onion rings, okay then. I decided it was time for some beef in my diet and ordered the ABC burger medium with my side as a salad, blue cheese dressing and a side of fries. After our beverages arrived the hot shoestring french fries with a considerable ramekin of ranch dressing joined us, It wasn't long before the sandwiches showed up, lookin' good too. M was dipping fries into the chowder, hey how's the soup? It's really good, very thick like. would you like a taste? really...yes it was quite thick not as many potatoes as the last reviewed place but I thought it lacked any real flavor of...well clams. M finished it every bit, who am I to say, right. Her melt looked PDG but best of all were her onion rings. Oh my hand battered and cooked perfectly these were "the best" dam onion rings I think I've ever had. Nearly every single onion rings one eats has been made in a factory somewhere and delivered to your plate. I know I sold enough of 'em. These were very good! Now my burger with avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese and a third pound burger served on a Brioche bun was very good too. I personally would have liked a half pound patty but ya know I really don't need to eat that much. The brioche bun was the star a softer bread and yet these were strong enough to keep the burger together. The side of salad was perfect and included three slices of thick cut cucumber. The salad dressing are made on the premises, another rarity in restaurants these days. We enjoyed our meal so much I asked about the desserts, not that I need any but I had to ask for this review. Are the desserts made here too? She said no but the are sourced daily from a local baker and she went on to explain the details. That was good enough for me, great place. For a second time, a group of 19 friends booked 10 rooms at this delightful resort. We just left yesterday and can't wait to return. The rooms are spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The grounds are lovely and the 9 hole golf course is challenging. Drinks and meals in the Sea Pines Grill are always delish and reasonably priced plus the staff is so friendly and helpful. My best friend and I decided to stay here for a weekend. We obtained a room with a beautiful view of the bay and a balcony. I did yoga with a view of moral rock and a stunning rainbow appeared after the rain. Overall, I found the staff to be polite and kind. The room was well laid out, but not necessarily Modern. Parking was easy and there wasn't a big crowd. It was a very peaceful stay and it was really easy to go and see the butterflies as well as check out the waterfront in Morro Bay. The downside was the cleanliness of the hot tub. While I enjoyed the design, I think that there was an imbalance in the chemicals used. Afterwards, my skin had a reaction. read more

We stay here often when visiting my in-laws. I notice nice upgrades to the grounds each year. Staff are friendly to dogs and kids. We always have a wonderful family experience. Grounds are nice and rooms are appropriately priced. I especially enjoy the large private spa that you reserve times for with the front desk. The attached changing room with a shower is a huge plus too. (Although a gym style soap dispenser in the shower would be a big upgrade). Good bar food. Great ranch!!!! The ranch! read more

First time we've stayed in a hotel with our kids and it was fabulous. The resort was quiet, clean and well maintained. We reserved the spa pool two nights in a row and it was tons of fun. Both the staff and guests were so friendly. My husband got sick one day so we were "stuck" in the hotel and it was still a great day. Can't wait to come back for many years to come. read more

The cleanliness of the hotel rooms,completely unacceptable! I'm a stickler for clean hotel rooms and always bring my own cleaning stuff,especially a container of disinfectant wipes and a Swiffer broom and mop. My husband and I have stayed at Sea Pines several times and always enjoyed it,especially the rooms close to the chipping green. It's a beautiful golf course and we thoroughly enjoy golfing there and the restaurant is very good. However this stay was miserable because of how filthy the room was. It seems the floors NEVER get vacuumed or swept and are not mopped! Here is a picture of the Swiffer broom cloth after I swept the entire room including the bathroom. I also mopped with a wet wipe cloth and it was just as dark and filthy. Also found ants crawling along the bed rail on the floor. Husband assured me they weren't bed bugs. Very disappointed because the staff are friendly and exceptional at their jobs and the beds are comfortable. One other problem is EVERY room shower should have a grab bar,found it very difficult being disabled taking a shower having to hold onto the soap dish and small triangle shelf. The water flow was excellent though. So many good things about this hotel but cleanliness needs to greatly improve before we'll ever be back! read more

I had come across Sea Pines Resort while looking to visit my good friend for the night up in Morro Bay. Not only did I want to have a view of the bay, but also an affordable yet comfortable stay. Sea Pines provided just that! Summer prices in this sleepy coastal town get steep, even during the weekdays. I was pleased to see that Los Osos offers a slightly more affordable alternative. Not only that but the town is serene with views of the protected sand dunes, bay and morro itself--well, that is when the marine layer has rolled in. We planned to hike and explore Motaña de Oro State Park which is only about a 10 minute drive away. The staff was very friendly when calling to see if they offered a first responder discount. Unfortunately they do not, but AAA members do have a slightly cheaper rate. I found the best price last minute through their website (often 25% off midweek). I completed the online check-in ahead of time which was easy and convenient. The room was ready early as requested, which was a plus--and trust me, we were ready to shower after getting sweaty and sandy in the state park! The double queen bedroom was fairly basic yet clean. I paid extra for the Bay View (worth the $10 more or so). The room came with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, iron, dining table and all the necessities. Beds were comfortable and rooms were fairly quiet. The lobby has board games and DVDs to borrow which we enjoyed to relax after a busy day. We did partake in Happy Hour at their on-site restaurant, The Clubhouse Grill which was decent, and best part, walkable! I must also share that the Morning Fog Lifter coffee provided is local from SLO Roasted Coffee and was fantastic! My one complaint is that they charge a $10 Resort Fee, yet the hot tub was closed due to requiring a pump replacement. If you don't play horseshoes, this fee probably goes to maintaining the golf course. It would also be nice if they had an EV charger on site. The closest ones are all in San Luis Obispo. Otherwise a pleasant stay over all. read more

My husband and I have stayed here many times and love the location. It isn't on one of the main streets, which makes it exceptionally nice. It is within walking distance of the bay located in Baywood Park and offers spectacular views of Morro Rock/Bay. Sweet Springs nature preserve is also within walking distance . I used to live in Baywood Park when I was little and this resort is our favorite. The service at the front desk is excellent as is the food at the restaurant. read more

This has become my favorite breaky in town! So nice to sit outside overlooking the green and have a full breakfast menu including benny's any day of the week. Full bar with delicious Bloody Mary's. There's plenty of omelette options including build your own as well as griddle cakes and waffles and even chilaquiles and bkfast burritos. The lunch menu includes burgers, fried chicken and pulled pork sandos. Friendly staff and dog friendly patio. We love coming on summer Saturday's for their outdoor concerts. We were looking for a place to stay in-between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo on our family trip. Los Oros was where we settled. We don't play golf, but online this looked like a nice place to stay for a few days. Upon arriving, the "resort" had more of a motel-ish feel with a few nondescript rectangular buildings. Our room was a top floor fireplace King, with a teeny tiny view of the ocean bay. Spacious and clean but clearly out dated furniture and decor. Mattress had all these little random bumps all over it, not sure what they were (weirded me out!)--it was fully enclosed with a cover, so I couldn't see underneath. Mattresses should definitely be replaced!! The one joy we had was the jacuzzi pool! A little oasis! Advanced reservations were needed to reserve jacuzzi for an hour. This actually was nice because we had the spa all to ourselves during our slotted time! Because of location this resort has so much potential, but property and rooms are DESPERATELY due for a renovation! read more

Hidden Gem. Location is beautiful, community is amazing, property is is awesome. If you love the outdoors and are looking for a nice relaxing spot this is the perfect place. You don't even really have to leave. There is a restaurant/bar onsite, golf course and plenty of walks/hikes to do in the surrounding area. If you visit during the summer, there is live music on Saturday's and Sunday's. Price is VERY reasonable. Rooms are a little dated and could be a bit cleaner. Also don't like the fact that you have to "reserve" the jacuzzi. It is quite big and can accommodate several parties. Sucks to have to plan around when you can utilize that amenity. We often tell people who are in there when its our turn that we don't mind if they stay. Few cons but not enough to knock it a star. The rest of the pros outweighs these few cons. Oh and also super dog friendly. LOVE LOVE LOVE this spot!!!! read more

Three of my friends and I try to meet for dinner every three or four weeks. We have some favorite places and also try new spots. We had not been to the clubhouse together, and it's been years since I was down there and it's basically a four minute walk from my house, so we convened there on election night. First of all, I am happy to say they were not running the election results on TV, so it was a nice distraction from that. We each chose different meals. I had halibut and chips, which was excellent, one had prawns and chips, which she said was excellent , another had the margherita pizza, which she really enjoyed and the last of us had the teriyaki rice bowl with salmon. It was an amazing piece of salmon, perfectly cooked. The vegetables were very fresh and also cooked perfectly. Not underdone, not overdone. We were all very delighted with our meals and plan to return to try more things. I don't understand the bad reviews here. Also our waitress was absolutely delightful. I'm actually planning on walking down there this evening with my husband to enjoy a delicious dinner. read more

We had a great weekend at the Sea Pines resort! As a matter of fact, we parked our car there on Friday and didn't move it until we left on Sunday. We stayed the night there we ate there. This review is specifically for the restaurant at Sea Pines. Every once in a while we get out of town guests and we usually steer them to Sea Pines as it's easy walking distance to where we live. This last time the guests included a fellow that's something of a Mr. Yelp review. He reviews everything. He has pages and pages of yelp reviews. We've taken him to places we love only to see him bash our favorite places in a review later. We took him to the Sea Pines lunch with great trepidation. The second the food arrived we knew. He knew too. It looked great. Not good, great. He raved. He cleaned his plate which he never does. He said that we'll have to come back here. He never says that. What more need I say? This is not so much my review as my noting the reaction of Mr. Yelp review. If this place got that kind of reaction from this guy, well, you need to check it out. read more

Third time staying here, and still loving it! My daughter will be going to Cal Poly in the fall, so we have pre booked several stays at our favorite Central Coast location. Excellent food in the restaurant, love the vibe of the concert on the greens, the staff at the desk and the restaurant are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and it's been fun to stay in different rooms on the property. I take my morning runs in the neighborhoods near the hotel, and it's a beautiful, cool area to get my exercise. Highly recommend staying here read more

I recently stayed at this hotel during my visit to Morro Bay & Hearst Castle. Online the prices & pictures looked really promising so we decided to stay here & then commute to our adventures. The hotel itself is fine. It's a little outdated. You get a decent view of the water from some rooms and all the rooms upstairs share 1 large balcony - kind of strange. The hotel restaurant is pretty good. They close at 8pm daily which seems really early, but oh well. I'm not much of a golfer, but this place seemed really small. Overall, nice place, but wouldn't consider staying here again. read more

I just wanted to share the horrendous experience we just had at Sea Pines. Our kids were cruising around on the grass (where the dance floor is during music) and an old man started yelling at us to get the kids off of the grass. I told the man how much we appreciate Sea Pines letting the kids play there because it makes it really family friendly and his response was "I don't really care. I am the owner and you can "F@*k off" I was stunned into silence with this response. At this point, my husband who is holding our one year-old daughter responded "you don't need to speak like that we were just saying that the kids like playing here" and he told us "this isn't a f@#king playground. You can find somewhere else to go I don't need your money I get enough alcohol sales on the weekend" he then approached our friends son, who is 18 months old, and was holding a flag from the putting green and dragged it out of his hands almost pulling the child to the ground. I cannot believe the patrons and children I witnessed by the owner of this place. We go there almost every weekend and will most definitely never go back. read more

We don't go here regularly, and sadly the food at the restaurant is hit or miss. We've gone and had a great meal, but two weekends ago had a horrible experience. My husbands cousin & I each ordered burgers - on first glance they looked cooked, but once you took a bite you realized the burger was raw on the inside. I'm not talking a touch pink, but bloody raw looking. I immediately stopped eating, had lost my appetite. Hubs cousin returned his the counter. They didn't try to make it right, or make him a new meal. My French fries were also torched, overdone & rock hard. Very disappointing. Not sure I want to go back. read more

This small 9 hole golf resort doesn't look like much but is truly a gem!! Hidden away in the Morrow Bay Area, surrounded by greenery and even an ocean view can be seen from specific rooms. We had a view of the god course and everything was clean, updated, and we LOVED the food from the cafe onsite. They had delicious food for breakfast lunch and dinner! They have banquet rooms and made accommodations for us in our wedding party prepping. I would definitely stay here again! read more

This place needs a lot of work to call themselves a resort or even a 3 star. I book a nice 2 room king suite online after calling to make sure it was pet friendly the lady said it was. When I pulled into this place I thought I had the wrong place. This place was clearly not a resort of any kind. The parking lot was empty I thought it was shutdown. I found out the room I booked online wasnt a pet friendly room so i had to change rooms. So the room they put me in was dirty and just gross. The mattress had tons of old stains on it. Black mold in the shower. Cobwebs on the walls. Rusty chairs in the back to sit on. No view of anything. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. Poor service. They are just crooks. Taking advantage of people. I ve stayed at better motel 6s than this dump. read more
