Individual employees are, for the most part, committed to their jobs. For that, as the family of a resident, we are grateful. However, SV seriously lacks cohesion as clients are promised and redirected frequently. There's no single chain of command you can follow when meds aren't dispersed (on time or at all), the doctor doesn't show, appointments gets rescheduled, allergies are ignored, etc. It's understandably difficult to run a facility of this size but when you commit, you need to commit wholeheartedly to the needs of a clientele who will not or cannot speak for themselves. It's been our experience that SV is a place where employees redirect, rather than act, when an issue occurs. Often, because they don't know how to make things right. Remedy: Hire a client care coordinator or team who is available, responsible, and has the authority to act when something goes wrong or doesn't happen. Document it and work to make sure it doesn't reoccur. This way, you truly partner with those of us who don't know who to contact, or constantly have to address the same issue. If this person or team exists, let's hear about who he/she/they are. SV has wonderful employees in place to serve the clientel. Management now needs to make themselves known and take further steps to lead the masses. Thanks.

Having had a not so good experience at a Renaissance with a relative, I decided to choose Manor Care for my post-hospital care. I am very glad I chose Manor Care as my experience there was very good. From the nurses to the Physical/Occupational Therapy Staff everyone was attentive to my needs. Quite honestly as I was there over Christmas, I thought the staffing would not be as attentive, but I was wrong. There was more than a skeleton staff there the whole weekend and everyone was more than happy to help out. Even the food at this location was excellent. Sure there were some drawbacks but the staff there made sure I was comfortable and they helped me get better while I was there just over a week. If I ever had the need for skilled nursing again or I knew someone else who needed it, I would not hesitate to recommend Manor Care as their service is excellent and am grateful that this place helped me on the road to recovery.

Sometimes just taking a step back and put yourself in their shoes, and trust people are doing things with best of intentions. Unfortunately for us (meaning everyone, not the staff) human nature sometimes makes us think the worse of people, a mindset that we only can change within ourselves. Friendly staff, no one wants to be in a nursing home, call light response time is just very slow at high volume times.

She went to grocery store for me to get Amy's dinners, I asked her to read the ingredients as I am to have no sugar. I got one with sugar, I ate it without reading ingredients and felt bad next day. She called and asked what time she was supoosed to be here, I told her about the dinner with sugar, sĥe said she didn't do it. I had to show her the box. I got into her vehicle next day and I said I heard the news and somebody burned flag outside White House, Trump signed an executive order outlawing it. She threw a raving fit saying I am tired of you mentioning Trump every time you get in my vehicle and proceded calling Trump every name imaginable and telling lies on him Prior to all that she said she was 64, I asked her if she drew social security. She threw this up to me that I was prying into her personal business so I could tell somebody. She is black, she then said whites are always wanting something for nothing. I am white. In the middle of this I said you're the craziest person I have ever seen. I reported her to Addus and they won't do anything with her. I reported this to the Director of the V.A. in DC but have not heard from them, to soon. I also reported her to a local V.A. social worker who contacted Addus in Norfolk. They wanted to send some one else and I said no for I am afraid of them. I asked Devon Roberts in St. Louis, MO to get me another agency. I plan to report Addus to the state agency thar over sees them.
