Upon arriving, I started to notice that the upkeep of the property was very poor. This is just a small list of issues we encountered: AC units were not working, the kitchen refrigerator was not cooling which cost us over $100 in spoiled items, the kitchen sink had no water coming out, our staff had no hot water in the mornings for showers and one of our teammates got stung by a scorpion while using the towel from her bedroom restroom. With all of these problems arising, I decided it was time to call the owner/property manager Madelyn. As I spoke to her mentioning what we were experiencing, her only reaction was that no AC unit works in Texas when it's 100 degrees, which I know is not valid. She then proceeded to ask me what time we wanted to leave the next morning. This completely caught me off guard as I thought that being the owner you would try and resolve issues your paying guests are encountering. This was far from the response I was looking for! After planning this offsite and having several team members as well as speakers staying at the location, we could not just leave to find another space. We all had to deal with the situations at hand and try and get through the next 3 days the best as we could. Following check out, I decided to email Madelyn regarding all of the problems and inconveniences we all had to handle. Still no professionalism fro her regarding her venue to paying customers who keep her in business. I would think being a family owned business, you would treat your customers with respect and reply on the word of mouth business. We as a company, nor I personally will ever use Ruby Ranch again or refer it to anyone who is searching for a venue. Hopefully this helps someone else from going through the same experience!

Greens surprisingly not as bad. You really just have to pick and place on this course as many times you will just be in rocks or hard ground with no grass on it even in the fairway. The primary issue we had was there was a marshall that was an absolute clown. We had a 3 some in front of us and they were not great players and thats fine it honestly never bothers me if people play slow. The marshall ended up moving them up a hole becuase he was concerned that people were backing up which is fine. The issue arose when he watched one of our guys hit a shot and immediatly decided to also move us up a hole because he is also a beginner. We had been waiting 3-5 minutes per shot for the group in front of us and we were not the issue in any way. I asked him if he thought we were the reason that play was slow and he very bluntly said "yes". I told him that he was being unprofessional and told him not to move us again as we were paying customers and the only issue was with the group in front of us. He then proceeded to completely lose his temper and start saying things like "Your are going to come into my house and tell me what to do?" And starter verbaly attacking me. Got out of his cart and tried to escalate the situation even further. I walked away and he continued to yell. The best part of all of this is after they moved us up a hole we were right on the slow groups tail again immediately. He then had to move that group up a SECOND time and we CAUGHT THEM AGAIN. He then had to ride with them for 7 holes trying to speed them along as we waited behind them and opened up a 3 hole lead on the trailing group. This guy was a complete clown, has no idea about customer service or relationships. I am pretty sure he felt super bad about losing his temper and blowing up because after he realized that he had made multiple bad moves he came to us on the 18th and told us we could play a free 9 holes if we wanted to. Just absolutely horrible customer service and interactions. There is not a single boss/owner alive that would not have fired this guy on the spot for the way he chose to interact with a paying customer. I can tell you that there are 3 guys who will never come to this course again and I would really advise anyone who reads this to take their business elsewhere. You can find nicer courses with better people for cheaper in the area. I wish I could give a 0/10

There were archways everywhere you looked with the most scenic Hill Country views you could ask for. The dance floor protruded out one of the archways so that you could dance under the stars. Truly breathtaking. My only complaint was the terrain. The area where we had cocktail hour, as well as the walk to the ceremony, was very jagged and rocky. You would not believe the staircase down to the grass. There were rough steps and wobbly branches as handrails. The reception had flat cement floors, but again, the outside bar area was very hazardous in heels. The bride and bridal party had cowboy boots on, so this was mainly the brides fault for not including this bit of information about the difficult terrain in the invitation. Apparently many guests were aware of this, but as a plus 1, how was I to know? Something should have been mentioned in the invitation, or on the bride and groom's website.

To say they go above and beyond is an understatement! I think Leslie even managed to turn down the June in Texas heat for the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception! My kids loved playing on the grounds, in the pool, and in the very kid/family friendly game room within the hacienda. I can tell they have tried their best to manage/clean. A/C works well, especially at night! Not much noise created. All the fire pits were upgraded and well-maintained. Some things to be careful with: 1/ Some weeds in the grass can be sticky and painful to pick off. Be careful walking in grass near the cabins (wear water shoes). 2/ Some dogs may be reactive to people/other dogs (barking). But everyone was very respectful. 3/ Didn't try the swimming pool; it looks a little muddy. 4/ Coffee station not working well. We noticed from others' reviews and brought our own coffee boiling pot with pour makers. They also didn't provide milk/coffee mate. 5/ Pillows are not quite comfortable.

I'm also a pool owner and when I saw their pool, I knew right away there was no way I would even put my big toe in it for a soak. Those portable pumps threw me off and the water was not clear.
