Cozumel scuba diving is the best but the staff was very personal and pleasing in every way. Each condo has its own gas grill and patio but the guests ended up sharing time together grilling and relaxing by the wonderful pool in the evening after diving all day. The Villa Diamond K Cozumel has extremely high walls covered with tropical vegetation to keep the outside city noise non existent. Douglas is like the Grandfather I never had, he has lived on the island for 30 years and built the Villa Diamond K Cozumel from the ground up. It was a wonderful trip. I will return. My condo kitchen was actually nicer than my own kitchen at home and the bed was one of those adjustable ones I would not buy for myself because I am to cheap. Douglas spares no expense for his guests. Some of the condominiums have their own washer and dryer, others the staff will provide the service at little to no charge. For larger groups breakfast and evening beverages can be provided. All in all it was a great find and I have visited Cozumel many times how I missed it all these years was my loss. The furnishings were nice and beds comfy. We especially enjoyed snorkeling on our own beach. The condo has a bar next door so even had great on the beach bar service and the restrooms there were super clean. This is our new destination place. Very clean and very safe. VIVA MEXICO!

The snorkeling and scuba diving there are phenomenal. Included in your stay are the use of their kayaks and daily cleaning Monday to Saturday. The staff which consists of a husband and wife team, are very accommodating. There is a dive shop a couple houses down which offer scuba certifications, boat tours, deep sea fishing, spear fishing and much more! There is also a quaint cenote across the road. Cenote manatee, as it was once aptly named, has a manatee resident! This cenote has been renamed to Casa Cenote but I'm going with cenote manatee! Small kids can just wade in the clear water. Older kids and adults can snorkel or scuba dive in it. This cenote is where the dive shop will train you for your scuba certificate and in the waters of Casa Caracol is where you will get certified for diving! The Tulum pyramids and The boho town of Tulum are just a few miles away. By car it takes approximately 15 minutes. You're also close to Playa del Carmen, more cenotes, yalku lagoon, the biosphere xian k'an, the water parks and much more.

It's a small bay just north of Tulum, lined with vacation rentals. Most of them are rented via Akumal Vacations, however many are individually owned. It's a quiet little spot with pelicans, white sand, calm water, and a warm, shallow bay. There's pretty much nothing going on here, and that's why you come to a place like this. We stayed at the Casas del Corazon here, which could merit its very own review. Situated centrally, we could walk down to the "hotel" on the north end, as well as the tiny convenience store El Bob. On the other end of the beach sits a small "restaurant" that's actually just a beach shack selling fish and ceviche. It closes early and is only open some days. Things here happen when they happen, and everything runs at its own speed. As for the bay, it's a solid spot for SUP'ing, kayaking, running on the beach, some snorkeling, and watching pelicans dive for the large school of small fish that hang out in the shallows. No motorized rentals or anything. Just mellowness. But what more do you need than hammocks, white sand beaches, water and a cold margarita? Nada mucho. Why four stars? Well, there's kind of this section between the shoreline and about 35 feet out that's rocky with shells and grass before you get out to the real sandy-bottomed water. So it's not actually the best setup for just wandering out into the bay. You can swim through it/over it, or grab one of the kayaks that I'm sure your vacation rental will have and kayak out to an anchor at the reef mid-bay to do some snorkeling (which is passable). But as far as perfect vacation spots go, if that didn't exist, this would be paradise. I'd definitely come back here again, if only to avoid the traffic and turistas and chaos of Tulum. Seems like Mexicans rent these houses too, so it's not just a shitload of Norte Americanos. Which is awesome. The proximity to Tulum is super nice. Protip: You need to get food/drinks either on the way in from Cancun airport or in Tulum. The selection is MUCH better on the way from Cancun.

Nope, not by a long shot, but it's still a really great resort that is budget friendly. Seriously, I've stayed at the Hilton across the street, the Rius, The Royalton, Secrets Bahia Mita, Grand Velas, etc so I know a great resort, and this one isn't as elegant, but I enjoyed myself so much here. Located a block away from 5th Avenida, this place is a quick walk to the tourist section so no need to grab a taxi- you're there. You walk in and they offer you a Kool-Aid drink, garnished with a dehydrated slice of blood orange. It's very classy. The resort is an all-inclusive, adults only place, so no kids running around the pool, screaming. We were located on the 4th floor, 20 feet away from the rooftop pool/sushi bar called Off the Hook. The pool is not warmed by anything but the sun but it's proximity to our room was stellar. The bartender is quick to whip out your drinks and they aren't watered down, so please remember to tip him a dollar a drink. The shrimp ceviche bowls we ordered were just enough food to tide us over for dinner at the buffet or one of the complimentary restaurants. Afterward we went down to the Cafe de Mexico in the lobby for our complimentary espresso drinks that are small, but if that's not enough, just order another one. We had to head out for the beach, so we ran into Quick Delights to get our complimentary to go snacks (I grabbed the salami sandwich, pasta salad, and a Coke). After getting back, we went to the main pool where there were finally open seats since a lot of people left to go to dinner. The only things lacking were the spa (tiny hydrotherapy circuit) and the beach which is non-existent because a couple of tropical storms wiped out their beach head. They are planning on rebuilding it, but for now if you need a beach, head down 5th Avenida to the end and go to the public beach and rent some lounge chairs. Didn't bother us though because the pools were good enough for us. Lastly, this place had a 30 minute fire show (performers doing dances with fire) on Friday evening. We grabbed seats on the bridge early to watch, but it must be the low season because there was plenty of space for people to watch easily next to the pool. Loved this resort and yeah, I'm bougie and I love the fancier establishments that Cancun has to offer, but this place was great and I'd be happy to stay here again.

The one thing outside of the resort grounds that I loved. Was the private beach. It's clean. No crowds. Very peaceful. You just sit back and relax and enjoy life as it comes. I do recommend this resort property for your next stay. For the stay and the locals their are beyond kind. You will definitely enjoy your stay!

Pure MareAzul is a high end condo complex located beach front Playa Del Carmen... Be warned its VERY private and secluded but we rented a little car that made us moving to/from Downtown Playa del Carmen in no more than 10 minutes. Our 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath, LR, Kitchenette, Dinning room, private laggon "pool", included free breakfast everyday during our stay... Staff is great, honest, room service included.... No issues whatsoever.. Reservation is very strange, I get the feeling that renting out the condos was an afterthought an no formal website will be established.. that being said I did everything through fax and even emailed my CC info... I took a chance and It worked out... All was great, the complex is so peaceful and beautiful... Very family friendly... The pool is the biggest I have ever seen, you can bring drink and snacks with you.. no stink eye... I am coming back and bringing more family with me!

Quiet area off main roads. The truly special part of this entire adventure was the rooftop pools-looking out the beach towards Cozumel. There's a fun bar staffed there-be sure to have a local drink from Guillermo! Walking distance to the playa (beach) but it's not a direct route...there's a huge mangrove jungle that you have to go around since it's protected nature area.

Upon arrival they do attempt to have you sit with their marketing department to discuss membership to the resort. 1 hr appointment to offer rooms priced from 49k to 189k. They will give you complimentary services to get you to go. 2. The food at the restaurants is decent, not great. Room service food is better. Palafitos restaurant was best if I had to pick one. 3. Room service says 24hrs BUT we've ordered after 10:30pm and items NEVER arrived. 4. Shower in our room stopped up quite frequently. 5. Cockroaches find their way into your room-this may not be able to be avoided, it is the beach. They were just huge LOL. 6. They have an abundant amount of seaweed along the coastline. They clean daily but it makes it hard for certain bungalows to enter the water which is supposed to be a selling point. 7. Water activities are handled by outside service. They are directly on the beach but not the most professional or efficient. We waited over 30 minutes for the service and no one ever came. We then decided not to do it and got our money back. However they tried to charge us at checkout, we had to argue with the butler William to get the charge removed. A definite stain on the trip. Overall would we come back? Maybe, probably not.

Palafitos is an adults only resort a short distance from El Dorado Maroma. There's a beautiful over water restaurant at the end of the pier, if you get a chance to do the Colors dinner, it's quite the "art meets cuisine" experience. You could potentially call your concierge at 4 am and request bacon and champagne to your hut, we didn't, but I'm just sayin.. The beach is stunning. Don't forget to say hi to Miss Daisy, she will take care of you while you relax in your Bali bed or tan on the beach. There's great snorkeling right off of your personal sun deck too! Manuel and Samantha attended our needs as our assigned "butlers". They are both so sweet and caring, the minute you're thinking "I would love a refill of my cucumber water" it's already happening as if they are mind-readers! The spa is fantastic, don't miss the hydrotherapy room. We had a members dinner on the beach for our final night and the sunset was spectacular. There's a lot to do around the area, cenotes, ruins, shopping, but it's just so hard to leave your overwater bungalow!
