We have been going to Woodloch for a number of years. The family is constantly adding to and upgrading the facilities. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We have always been impressed by the cleanliness of the resort. There are a tremendous amount of activities for the whole family. Reviews of super honesty, from a guest for a day. Not good: Trying to get there. As soon as you get to the edge of the property, you are navigating a maze of tiny signs in Woodloch handwriting, trying to figure out where to turn to sign in. I made a couple of wrong turns. Once I got there, I had to figure out where the door was. Signing in was actually quite painless, mainly because other family members had signed in moments before, but I didn't get a map so I was lost the rest of the time, depending on others to navigate around (and we definitely had questions). Event timing. I missed out on a couple of events because things we wanted to do were double-booked. Then we had off time when nothing was booked. Why not spread things out throughout the day? Events themselves. We thought bowling would be fun. It was a hollow ball so that anyone any age could roll it. The bad bowlers did better than the good ones. That's what made me miss trivia, though perhaps that would have also been no fun. Okay: A nice house we got, though the living room had a bunch of wasps outside the window so I was definitely not happy there. Clear your nests. Also at least one of our cards went bad, but I wasn't staying more than a day so I didn't have to worry about that. Beers. A couple of locals, just poor selection overall. Good: Pools. Multiple. All ages, all temperatures. Too crowded outslde? Go inside. Three different hot tubs. Kiddie splash area inside, which added to my family's enjoyment when I accidentally discovered it while wandering inside to use the restroom. (Part of that being lost problem. Lack of signs for anything.) Food. Though it went on my family's tab, they will feed you whatever you want for whichever meals you sign up for. My family will enjoy breakfasts and dinners to their hearts' content. Very high quality meals. You are assigned a table and a server, for whatever that's worth to you - definitely one less way to get lost! But if you don't like your server... I'm willing to bet they would work something out. Guest service was not a problem. Overall: I am being a little generous in stars because resorts are not my thing. But this place is in desperate need of an upgrade in signing everything. First time here. Wow I can understand why people come here year after year. So many activities everyday. Indoor pool, outdoor pool, lake activities, petting zoo, wagon rides, go carts! Family friendly for young kids and seniors. The staff is so kind. My kiddo had a blast. Food sadly was mediocre. Desserts were really good. Best meal was the lunch cook out. Prime rib: overly tough. I came here for a fall weekend and was impressed how many things there were to do. The lake is gorgeous with autumn-colored leaves. In good weather, it's nice to walk around the grounds just to be outside. They had good calendars of events posted around, on their app, and in paper copy at the front desk and at breakfast. It lists hours for all day activities and timed events. They have mini golf, a boat ride tour, paddle boats, bumper cars, a rock-climbing wall, go carts, just to name a few. All the staff at the activities were friendly and helpful. Even when I wondered aloud where a building was, a staff member pointed me in the right direction. The meals were great too -- service was amazing and there were a few entrees to pick from at every meal. It's pretty easy to overindulge as every meal comes with a sweet dish. There are also bakery items you can order to go. There were lots of families here and a lot of activities aimed towards kids. There were also a lot of deer around, so be careful driving. Woodloch Pines is the Disney World of the Northeast. Woodloch Pines is one of my favorite places to visit. My family started going to Woodloch in the 80's and we have never looked back. We recently went this past December and I brought MY SON. It was a surreal moment to bring my son to a place I have been visiting since I was his age. I hope he loves it as much as I do. Woodloch is a cruise on land. So many activities for ALL ages - Family Feud, Name that Tune, Trivia, Scavenger Hunts, Bumper Cars, Go Karts, and so much more. They also ALWAYS have seasonal activities and themes going on. For our December visit we were able to visit with Santa and go on a hayride through holiday light show! It was a blast. read more

We celebrated my daughter's wedding and it was fantastic! They accommodated every one of our requests. The houses were lovely with great views. The food was phenomenal from crab cakes to prime rib. It was a last minute booking for this resort. I found it would be great to have some activities and eat good food. It was an absolute pleasant surprise to see the fun activities and great service we received during our stay . The food was great ! And the accommodations were superb too. They took care of all the different angles of the guests . The Christmas festive season was so well celebrated with carols , Santa and the Christmas lights wagon ride in the forest . They also transferred us to a bus for a 2-3 min ride as it was very cold. That was so sweet of them. The environment is taken care of too. Toiletries were not in plastic bottles , rather they were in small paper pouches. The room has recycle and regular trash cans. The games were detailed and well organized . My wife really loved this romantic getaway. But to be quite honest, it is quite expensive and the lost-and-found process is sub-optimal. Pros: all-inclusive, great workout options, large pools, ice room, plenty of outdoor options, great variety of wild life (lots of deer, ducks, squirrels etc). Cons: really expensive, the culinary package seem underwhelming (one extra dish for dinner, and some minor fruits/cheese/wine on entry), the concierge seemed to be not as engaged with in-person questions, no daily room/sheet changes. To be quite honest, I would have had a slightly better reaction if it weren't for the fact that I had accidentally left my bag in the dining room, but despite calling multiple times, leaving voicemail, I was left in a long period of uncertainty before figuring out a week later they could not find it. read more

I've been going to woodloch since the day I was born and my grandfather got a timeshare there way back when they build the lakehouses and we've been staying at Lakehouse 4 till this day! It's got to be the best resort out there In Pennsylvania! The food at the main dining hall is incredible! The staff are amazing and super kind! It's so relaxing by the lake and pools and so energetic during all the fun games they have. The resort has changed a lot since I've been coming there. Stayed here for one night with my 3 friends for my friends bachelorette party. They have a big list of activities and entertainment to keep you busy. It was almost like a cruise in regards to having a lot to do. This is a good place for families as well as friends. The dinner was superb !! You must try their home made mud pie. It was absolutely delicious and a tradition of theirs that they have been making for years ! During the day we went on the Go karts , batting cages , bumper boats and did the escape room. They also have a rock climbing wall but we didn't get to do that. At night we did the music trivia, saw a live band and went to the club afterwards. I'm definitely gonna come back in the summer and do the boat ride on the lake. I recommend this resort !! read more

I went to Woodloch on a weekend retreat and loved every minute! The number of activities, the generosity of the staff, the pristine nature all around you, and the great food make it ideal for a cozy weekend getaway, whether it's with kids, peers, or colleagues. First of all, the activities range from go-carting, archery, boating, hot tub, spa, rock climbing, going to the gym, indoor games, golf, foosball, and more. There's definitely something for everybody here; if someone tells you they're bored here, then they are boring themselves! Second, the staff is super sweet and helpful. They're just there to help you, even while they're in the middle of their own work. The grounds are huge, and you're bound to get lost; if they notice you trying to find your way, they're there to guide you in a jiffy. Third, the lake, trees, and real estate in general is just beautiful. Make sure to go walk by the lake when it's sunrise or sunset because regardless of the time of year, it'll take your breath away. If you have a room that faces the lake, like we did, even better! The view outside of your balcony is so relaxing. If you go to the main area, they have baskets of free apples, a warm and intimate fireplace area surrounded by couches, and a beautiful view. And last, the food here is pretty good. The breakfast was a buffet-style, which included scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast, pancakes, cereals, oatmeal, fruit, and more. They have all sorts of milk available for the coffee. They had American food for us in the dining hall for lunch, and it ranged from burgers to salads to mac and cheese. For one of our dinners, there was lobster, shrimp, oysters, vegetables, fruit, meat, salads, and more. This place was great, handled our family reunion/my dad's birthday very well. Everyone was really nice and the place was beautiful. The food was solid with all the waitstaff going the extra mile every day. They were also very good with the members of out party that had allergies. Also there are lots of great activities here. Kayaking, go carts, bumper boats, etc. I especially loved the trap shooting, although get a shuttle to this as it is very far by walking. This place really felt like a cruise on land. They say it's a place of hospitality and boy are they right! The staff is so friendly. Always greeted with a smile from anyone working there, from the social staff to the front desk to the wait staff to the custodial staff. Everyone is friendly! The food is outrageously delicious! It comes family style for most things and it is wonderful. Woodloch is the only place I've ever encountered that serves you dessert before breakfast! Yes you read that right dessert before breakfast. It coming in the form of delicious crumb cake or muffins. Don't worry you still get dessert after lunch and dinner too! (Expect to eat a lot of really yummy food) The activities the staff has planned is also something that sets woodloch apart from other destinations. The social staff has games prepared such as name that tune, family feud, a crazy scavenger hunt, and Olympics with extremely creative games. There is also a beautiful lake where you can take boat rides, waterski, take out paddle boats or kayaks, or swim. On warmer days, there is even a water slide into the lake! Oh but you won't miss out on a water slide if the weather is cold--they have an indoor water slide as part of the beautiful indoor pool complex. They even have a kiddie splash pool inside and outside as well as a regular outdoor pool and hot tubs. All are clean and lifeguards are present. There is no shortage of fun at Woodloch! It is great for all ages! My niece is 3 and she loves it so much she wanted to go there for her birthday this year! So we did and it was AWESOME!! For a great family vacation this a place to check out. My family and I have been here a few times as guest a of my brother-in-law. We stayed in a 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath house with living room with fireplace, full kitchen and dining room which is large enough to accommodate all of us. Everything is kept up very well, always clean and functional. The resort offers many activities and events for all. We start off with breakfast in the main dining hall, then off to the fun and games. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, Jacuzzi and offer go carts, ski shooting, archery, bumper cars, tennis, basketball, name that tune and many more. You can grab lunch or just a snack since breakfast is all you can eat. For dinner you can eat at one of their restaurants or just eat in if you wish. There is a meal plan where all the meals are included which would be advantageous if you stay in one of their hotel rooms. After dinner the activates continue, there is a great live show every night and I believe there is dancing after the show with a live DJ. Everyone I talk to loves this resort, even my wife and children love it. You can do as much as you like or as little as you wish. Woodloch is located in an isolated area and is close to nature. It's a very calming and relaxing. The staff are very accommodating and they seem to enjoy working there. They say it's a great place to work and they offer many benefits to their employees and are flexible with their work schedules. Woodloch is a old school family resort. We have visited twice in the past 6 months, once with immediate family and once with some extended family. Had a fantastic time enjoying all of the activities together. We had 8 staying in the Kranich House which is smack dab in the middle of everything, which was great for our older family members who use a walker. Kranich House is single story (Has stairs to a 2nd floor but not accessible by guests). It has 3 bedrooms (1 master king and 2 with queens). Plus there is a double pullout in the living room, 2 single pullouts in the living room, a portable cot, and a baby crib. Full Kitchen with breakfast nook, 2 full baths (1 en suite plus 1other), large dining room that could seat 12 with the table leaf and some folding chairs, small enclosed porch. Overall interior is rustic/dated, but clean and in good repair. Just posting this because we could not find any good descriptions of the Kranich House when we booked it. I will try to post some photos of the house. read more

We have been here a couple of times, visiting the sports bar. It's, small but comfy, several TVs tuned to various sporting events and a basic selection of beer and liquor. The BIG plus is that unlike the bars at Outlook, Grill Room (Woodloch Springs) and the bar at the Lodge (Tree Restaurant), it is open until it closes - this means past 10pm. It remains the only gathering spot with liquor within a 15 minute drive from the Lodge. Thankfully, we enjoyed both our visits, including a NY Ranger hockey game and a Yankees ball game. Go carts, bumper cars, indoor pool slide, outdoor pool, beach/ type lake with slide, etc. The food is NOT gourmet, but plentiful. That's the only issue for the adults. Woodloch Pines is a one of a kind resort. Family owned and operated, most guests have been coming for a couple generations. It's a magic place that guests return to with their families and remember when their parents brought them when they were young. The best place for family fun from toddlers to grandparents, there's so much to do! From the incredible meals in the main dining room, to the endless sports, crafts and leisure activities throughout the day, to the vast array of nighttime entertainment that runs the gamut from magicians to Broadway style shows, there is always something to do at Woodloch Pines. The entire staff treats everyone like family and that's what keeps the families coming back year after year. We come every summer with our whole family and 14 of us stay together in one of their beautiful rental homes. We make memories to last a life time each year and I hope it will continue for as long as possible. My son is two now and I hope someday to be the grandparent and he is writing this same review. Where to start?! Simply an exceptional vacation. From the location, to the activities, to the meals, to the staff........Everything was perfect. Everything was fun. The entire property is immaculate. Especially in this day and age of the pandemic. There was hand sanitizer everywhere, and staff disinfected every single piece of apparatus, from the hand rails to the furniture in the lobby to the life vests by the boats. You never touched anything that wasn't thoroughly and recently sanitized. Each day had dozens of activities. All carefully planned to allow plenty of time to schedule as many as you desired. Our group had 6 people, and there was time to hang together, as well as go off by ourselves and meeting for dinner later on. Someone commented that this resort was a Cruise Ship on Land. I like that!! :) I highly recommend the meal plan. Food was great; very tasty dishes, amazing portions and flawlessly executed by the staff. Speaking of the staff, every single person could not have been nicer. Always a smile and welcoming greeting. Special shout out to our dining-room server, Jazmin, who was exceptional. She could not do enough for us. She served us 6 meals altogether, and we really hope she's available on our next stay; which by the way, we're already planning :) read more

Absolutely worst hotel I have ever dealt with. Horrible customer service. They have completely ruined our entire family vacation. We booked two months ago and I was told today (2 weeks out) that they are cancelling our room to host a larger group. They have no regard for what it takes to plan a vacation, take time off from work, coordinate days off of school and all they offered was a future date. Well we can't just pick another day. They only care about making the extra money off the extra rooms they can book and could care less about disappointing my children who I already shared photos and plans with. Do not book this hotel they have no interest in making customers happy and will cancel on you and leave you with no vacation. Edited based on their reply: Originally I was only given until March 28th to move my date and receive the $200 credit. I have a voice mail stating this. This morning I did receive a phone call and they worked with me to resolve the situation. Once I have my new stay I will write a new review. read more

I've been coming every year since I was a baby. We always come up during the summer and sometimes in the winter or spring as well. There is so much to do during the day. There's athletic games (olympics, amazing race, pool games), knowledge games (name that tune, are you smarter than a fifth grader, bingo), and normal daily activities (go carts, sailing, biking, etc). During night time, there are amazing shows, comedians, magicians, horse racing, and dancing! The food here is THE BEST you will ever have. There are so many selections and everything is always delicious. They are able to cater to special diets as well. My sister is diabetic and was able to plan every meal before even getting there! Lastly, the staff. Many of them have been working there for over 10 years. Everyone is so friendly and treats you like family. We keep in touch with a lot of the staff even when we are not at Woodloch! They keep the place happy and clean at all times. Overall this place is perfect for all ages. I stayed up there from March 27 though March 31, 2023. For starters, the entire resort is huge. It's 17 acres in total. I got in with about 20 people on a group rate. I think it came out to about $750 for the single rate. It included 3 meals a day, just about all the activities, entertainment and shows. There is also a full service spa, but that is not included. The food is top notch and I really didn't have a bad meal all week. I do want to bring out a point though. There are so many people, it would be impossible to prepare all of that food fresh. A lot of the stuff is pre-made, so maybe they reheat it in a huge convection oven. The breakfast potatoes were not really too warm. I had prime rib one night and it seemed a little dry. Should have been served with some au jus on the side. I guess I could have asked for it though. Everything else was great. You can order as much as you want too. That impressed me as some of the people at my table wanted to try a few different things. I even had them pack up a second Reuben sandwich which I had for lunch the next day. Got some bakery items to take home with me too. All in all, I had a very nice time. There is so much to do, you definitely need a full week to experience everything. It's geared toward being family oriented. Don't expect to up there thinking it's going to be swinging singles. I only needed to get away for a few days and try to relax. This place is one of the most wonderful places on the planet. It blows Disney out of the water. My family ( the Roehrich family) has been coming since 1981. Due to life, we regretfully took a 10 year hiatus & just this weekend had a family reunion At woodloch . We really didn't know what to expect after 10 year Long years and we were over the moon that we came back. The family style meals were delicious and there's always plenty of food. Many of my family is celiac and they were very accommodating. We played countless family games such as trivia, bingo, horse racing. Really enjoyed the show this year! Our family decided to head to the Woodloch Resort based on word of mouth recommendation. I had never heard of it, but did some research and was impressed by the positive reviews, so we booked a three night stay over my kid's spring break week from school. I was able to book everything online with no problem about a month prior to going. Obviously, these resorts know exactly when the schools go on spring break, and the prices are always higher during these times, which is frustrating, but that's the law of supply & demand, so you roll with it as best you can. The other great thing is that this location is only a three hour drive from Long Island, (provided you can get off Long Island without the traffic backups that seem to occur and EVERY EXIT POINT from the island!). As we got closer to the resort on our drive, it became evident that the resort is kind of in the middle of nowhere, which is a bit unsettling but welcoming at the same time. Once you arrive, you really have no reason to go anywhere else, but of course, with kids, I think about how far is the nearest hospital, etc. ( I never checked ). Check In: We arrived at approximately 2pm, fully expecting to be told that our room wasn't ready, but it was! The front desk staff was incredibly helpful, getting us situated to the lay of the land, showing us on a map where our room was, and giving us the lowdown on dining options, entertainment options, and the activities schedules for the day. They also have free water and coffee in the main area of the North Lodge (the check in area). Our Room: We booked our room with a lake view and were given a room on the 2nd floor of the Mountain Laurel section of Woodloch. This section is about a 10 minute walk from the North Lodge, but also is connected to the indoor pool facility. I was impressed by the size of the room. The bathroom was spacious, there were two queen beds, a sofa bed, and a large lounging chair with a table. There as also a nice balcony where you could hang out outside, sit down and enjoy the view of the lake. The room also has a nice flat screen TV on the wall, a coffee maker, clock radio, etc. Wifi: Wifi covered the property pretty well. It wasn't blazing fast internet speeds, but it was fine for checking social media, email, posting pictures, etc. This is an included benefit, as it has always been a pet peeve of mine when hotels charge extra for this service. Most hotels / resorts don't do that anymore, but there are still a few that do! Dining: By staying at the Mountain Laurel section, we dined at smaller, but "The Inn" dining room since it was closer to our room than the dining hall at the North Lodge, which is much, much larger and has more hustle & bustle than the smaller facility we dined at. I mention this because if you're traveling with others and want to eat together, it bears mentioning that your room location may dictate what dining hall you eat at. We were assigned a table right by the window, which was super nice, because apparently, if you're a newbie to this place like we were, you don't normally get the window seating if there are Woodloch veterans that can take preference. We were on the breakfast & dinner plan. In terms of the quality of the food, I would say it was all over the spectrum, but I would give the food a solid 7.5 to 8 out of 10. Some meals were fantastic, others not so much. The fish options were fantastic, the meat options were ok, and the smorgasbord night was awesome, because it was buffet style with a variety of options. Breakfast was solid, with options for pancakes, waffles, eggs any way you wanted them, cereal, bagels & lox, crumb cake, juices, coffee, you name it. The servers were all very friendly, although our seemed to be all about business at times, which was fine. Nice to have some of the owners walking around and checking on their guests too. Amenities / Activities / Entertainment: There is no shortage of things to do at this location. There's the indoor pool, water slide, etc. Go karts, batting cages, archery, etc. Tons of activities, including bingo, cupcake wars, minute to win it, etc. Entertainment every evening, magic, balloon makers, juggler, illusionists, etc. Staff: Every single staff person we engaged, for the most part, was incredibly engaging, well spoken, courteous, helpful, etc. This was a solid plus in my book. Everyone, in terms of other guests, we engaged with socially had been to Woodloch many times. Being our first time, I was surprised at this. I'm from the mold that I like to try a variety of things and rarely go back to the same place twice, but given it's proximity to where I live, the fact that you don't need anything while you're there, the huge list of activities, entertainment, and amenities, I could certainly see me and my family going back a few more times. I do think that 5 days was long enough though, we were able to do everything without getting bored. However in the summertime I could have easily stayed for longer and just sat by the lake. They warn you ahead of time that rooms may not be ready until 5-6 pm (you can still enjoy the resort while waiting) but luckily our room was ready right at the 11 am check in time. The room itself was lovely, huge and right on the lake. We didn't spend much time there but it was clean and comfortable. Great bathroom amenities. Lots of extra pillows and soft blankets in the closet. The resort itself is impeccable, and decorated nicely. They do a fantastic job keeping it up to date. The staff are all AMAZING. We especially liked our server Jackie. Every staff member we met there was friendly and engaging without being too in-your-face. I honestly don't know how they deal with so many wild kids 24/7 and still remain happy and upbeat. I couldn't do it. I appreciated that alcohol was served everywhere and there was a full menu of choices, even at the pool. It would have been nice if some alcohol was included in the all-inclusive price but I certainly wouldn't consider this a deal breaker since you could always just bring your own and keep it in the room. Meals- There are menu options to suit even the pickiest eater. All of their bakery items are amazing. My only complaint was that breakfast was served WAY too late! It starts at 8:30 am, but when you have kids that are up at 6 that time doesn't work well. The coffee shop does open at 7 so that was helpful. We did the 3 meal per day plan, but I think in the future we would only do the 2 meal plan since the lunches weren't fantastic and we were still quite full from the late breakfast. In summary, I highly recommend Woodloch for families. I would not recommend it for just couples, unless you REALLY like loud children running around everywhere. read more

Great family place. Key word is "family". Tons to do including just relaxing. I strongly recommend go in with the "all in" attitude and get involved. Many of the guests are obviously return guests for years. The family participation almost cultish atmosphere permeates every inch of the MASSIVE compound. They pretty much have everything ... some of it is complimentary and some are add on fees. All pricing is fair. Very close to a "Dirty Dancing" style of place. I must say this place is one of the overall best run businesses I have ever seen. Kitsch we wanted, and kitsch we received. We came here on a work holiday party. Let's see: costumed bears, dogs, Santa, rudolph....the "festival of lights" hayride which consisted of driving through the woods to see cheezy, homemade displays (but made with a lot of HEART) and a santa hurtlng handfuls of candy canes at us, huge portions of family style food (the chicken rice soup tasted like gravy) The servers were very rattled when some people at our table wanted vegetarian food, even though it had been requested ahead of time. The manager came out twice, bearing cans of soup to check if were okay. The pool is awesome, multiple hot tubs, and a splash area with water guns and foam slides. Best place ever! No kidding, it's like a kicked up summer camp for families. There are all kinds of cool things to do. I can tell you which things I did but there are also many more. Name that tune, we sucked at it. You be the judge, we kicked ass 2 years in a row. Archery Bumper cars and bumper boats. Go carts. Zip line, so cool. Scavenger Hunt, my favorite activity. Horse Racing Family Boolympics (Olympics the rest of the year). Haunted Hayride Everyone who works there was totally into it And they put a lot of thought and prep work into each event. The Haunted Hayride must have taken months to put together, it was over 1/2 hour long. It is really cool that they give out medals to the winners. Don't think that any of it is easy, it takes work for your team to win a medal and you all need to work together. I'm so happy with this place. I'm totally coming back every year. read more
