Delicious food, will definitely go back. Loved they had an outside patio area. Service was great.

This was a pleasant surprise. I order the chivo and queso frito and was not disappointed. It was very flavorful. Even though i ordered takeout, the servers were friendly and quick with assistance

Mofongo with Pernil, Rice & Beans

Villa Verde is a great place to dine in Greenville. I ordered the Mofongo with Pernil, Rice & Beans, as well as some Maduros. First time I've eaten Dominican food and I loved it. The Mofongo was very good and the Pernil was moist and tender with mild flavor, which I really liked. It also paired well with the rice and super tender and flavorful beans (+$3 for these, but worth it) The Maduros were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. We'll definitely be back for more. Dominican food is not spicy, so if you want spice, you may need to BYO.

So freaking good! Especially the sweet plantains! The service is great and the prices are just right! I almost wish they charged more for their food because the ingredients are such high quality! We tried the dominican sampler which was a great appetizer and the red snapper which was such a great deal for a whole fish! Their outside patio area was shaded and perfect for my dog, the only issue we ran into were flies, which was to be expected when eating outdoors! But other than that, great food, service, and experience!

I travel to Greenville several times a year and I make a point to come here at least once a visit. I'm making my way through the whole menu and not had one bad meal. Everything is creative and delicious. The staff is also very friendly.

Went here late after a game, we started with ceviche which was so fresh, I got the whole snapper which was phenomenal, my dad got the seafood paella which was also delicious and my mom got some stew with potatoes, plantains, and meat, that was so yummy and made great leftovers! The best part was my moms drink which was red on the top half and tallow on the bottom half and had a cinnamon stick on top (forget the name), it was one of the best drinks I have ever had! A little on the expensive side, but for fresh food that is expected. Will be back soon!

Trifungo with Pernil. Y'all I dream about this stuff.

Two words: Trifungo with Pernil (okay, technically 3 words..lol). It is my new food addiction. It is the perfect dish, particularly when complimented by their flavorful homemade Dominican sauce (which I wish they would sell by the bottle). I also highly recommend the beef empanadas which are super tasty. The service is great too. Always prompt, courteous, and helpful...whether you are dining in or getting takeout. I've never gotten an order that was anything other than correctly executed and amazing. And that's high praise from me as I have a lot of dietary restrictions. I don't typically drink due to my food issues, but my friends say that you can anticipate a generous pour if you do partake. If you're over around ECU I definitely recommend their 10th Street location. The Arlington Blvd location near the hospital is great too, but is more like the Chipotle version with a scaled down, but equally tasty, menu and earlier hours, serving breakfast and lunch (Sadly, no Trifungo there...but the same pernil and some pretty awesome roasted chicken). There's a reason Villa Verde has been in Greenville for so long. Go find out what it is for yourself.

I really enjoyed the food and the service. The ambiance isn't the greatest but the food is top notch. I had the Red Snapper and my wife had the Shrimp Mufungo.

Good Dominican food for Greenville. The owners are friendly and helpful. The Cuban Sandwich is one of the best in town.

The waitress was friendly and let us sit wherever we wanted. It was bright and colorful inside. Beautiful DR inspired art covered the walls in the form of a mural and there was a small bar with a TV. They were out of quite a few items like the Oxtail and only had Tilapia fish despite having red snapper on the menu. Not sure if they sold out earlier in the day or hadn't restocked the restaurant. We started with drinks. 2 of us ordered the Sangria and another one ordered the Grenadine Margarita. The drinks are the reason they're only getting 4 stars. We all agreed that we didn't think there was any alcohol in them. The Sangria clearly had concord grape juice in it (very distinct taste). The friend who recommended the restaurant stated that it was different that the last time she was there and that the last time was not during a happy hour. I would rather get a quality product at full price instead of a discounted mediocre one for half price. For food, we started with beef empanadas and shared one chicken and cheese. They were hot and fresh wkth well seasoned meat and flakey crust. For my entree I ordered the Pernil Mangu. The Mangu was garlicky just like I like it. Ithey made it fresh because we could hear them pounding it. We all got different variations of the Mangu and it was all served in the same sauce. It was ok. It was a bit waterybut fulfilled it's purpose of preventing the dish from being dry. The Pernil was super flavorful. I do wish I could have gotten some pieces of crispy skin in it. My frinds got the shrimp and the chicharron. They were both good. The Chicharronwas perfectly seasoned and crispy!! Overall a good meal with plenty of leftovers. I definitely recommend.

We went entered it was clean, smelled really good, and surprisingly no other customers in the restaurant. The owner/manager told us we just missed the crowd (I actually checked on IG and there was a large crowd before - but had left right before we arrived). At first, we were just going to check out the menu. However, the staff started talking to us and showing some of the different entrees they had for the evening. We decided why not? So, we were instructed to sit down and they would come over. Once we made ourselves comfortable, the staff starting bring out samples of various drinks/juices that they offered for us to try. Very sweet gesture and the Soursop was amazing! We reviewed the menu with the owner/manager and decided on our entrees. While awaiting, chips and salsa was brought out for us to enjoy. The salsa was good, the chips didn't taste homemade, and the ketchup/mayo I could go without. Overall a good little snack while you wait (the salsa and chips). It didn't take long for us to be brought our meal. Everything was hot and fresh. Now, if you are looking for steakhouse tender steak, this ain't it. You need not even come with that mindset - this is like having a meal with your family. The potato salad, the potato.salad. my my my lol that's all I have for it! Just know, you are here to enjoy the local flavors of a different culture in Wilson. They nailed taking you to their native land via the food, the service, and the music. If loud music bothers you - you might want to take that into consideration. It doesn't bother me, but I know for some it might not do well for their dining experience.

We waited for our drinks while customers who arrived after us were served first. When I questioned the bartender, who was also the owner, I was given explanations that did not justify why our table continued to be overlooked. The most frustrating part was waiting over 1 1/2 hours for our food. During that time, we watched customers who arrived after us receive their meals and complete their dining experience while we were still waiting. The owner stated that their meals were easier to prepare and that our paella required additional time. However, after waiting more than 90 minutes, that explanation was not reasonable. As an Asian and Black group, we left feeling that we were treated differently from other customers. The pattern of being repeatedly passed over, despite arriving earlier and waiting significantly longer, made us feel discriminated against and unwelcome. Customer service should be fair and respectful to all guests regardless of race or background. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant based on how we were treated.
