I've had this placed saved to try for a while and finally got the opportunity to try it out on a random Wednesday. The space is large with plenty of seating and also bar seating. You order your food at the front (bar) and then grab a seat wherever you want. I got a mango margarita which they didn't skimp on the tequila in it! Was sweet enough where I didn't notice at first how much tequila was in it (a win in my book). For dinner, I got the pernil w/cuero which was full of flavor. Tostones were nice and crunchy without being greasy. The rice was just okay, I prefer a bit more sazon and sofrito. I think this restaurant would do well in a more inhabited area instead of connected to the mall but the guy working stated they do very well on the weekends, so I hope it brings them continued business! read more

Visited with my family of 6 for my son's 17th birthday. Location is in the Triangle Town Center that is unfortunately vacant. Very few stores remain. Dining was ample and clean. My wife said the bathrooms were dirty. Seating and ordering are on your own, there is no service. Good menu options, and good portions for the price. The pulled pork and fried plantains were really good. Everything else was fine, but nothing special. The name is a bit misleading. Filipino lechon is an extremely tasty slow roasted pig with candy like bark. This was just pulled pork. Doubtful that'd we'd return. read more

We got the 4 meat platter ($28.99), with Argentinian sausage, roast/ rotisserie chicken quarter, ban jerk ribs (+$1) and the crispy pork skin pulled pork (+$3.5) plus a beer (which he gave the wrong one but corrected it when we asked again)! There's an additional charge for any sauces you want to e got a chimichuri and a aji amraillo (which they forgot to give us with the food) Our 2 sides were street corn salad and adobo fries ! Our fav were the fries ! Everything else was very mediocre, the meat was well cooked but nothing that wowed us! For $3.5 extra the piece of crispy pork skin was a 2.5*2.5 inch square and had a burnt flavor to it. There was ketchup and habanero hot sauce on the table (there was hardly 1-2 tbsps in the bottle and it tasted stale and of oil) There was a credit card charge that we weren't told of before being charged. read more

In a desolate Triangle Town Center, Lechón is one of the few thriving businesses. It's in an old CPK space so there's plenty of seating in a spare modern setting. It's quick service so orders are placed at the counter & they bring the food out to you. We tried several of their meats. The lechon was well flavored with a delightfully crispy skin. The roasted chicken was tender and flavorful as well as the Argentinian sausage. If you're in the mood for Latin fare, this is the place to get it! read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while, it's in the desolate triangle mall. It very large restaurant, you go to the counter to order and they bring you the food. We both ordered the lechon pork with the skin and black beans and rice my friend had the street corn, but she didn't like that it's served cold. She felt it should say served cold. and a side of fries. The black beans were amazing and so was the French fries; just the right amount of seasoning and hot and fresh. It wasn't that busy, I'm not sure why they don't come to the table to order, I probably would've ordered another beer, but the fact that I had to go stand in line again I changed my mind. This was a nice spot for some good Latin food. It was large with plenty of clean and comfortable seating. The staff were very nice and knew their menu pretty well. We had a couple of orders of the lechon and I also got the rotisserie chicken. The meats were very good. The crispy skin was worth it. The sides were great. Lechon is located at the Triangle Mall. When I arrived there was only two parties inside of the business. The restaurant is spacious with many tables to sit at or stools at the counter. I placed my order at the counter & my food was brought to me after it was prepared. When I placed my order I had discount for a certain amount off for lunch & a higher amount off for dinner. I arrived at the business close to 3:30 pm. My bill was rang up with the lunch discount. I asked what time lunch was over & I was told 5pm. I have never heard a restaurant having lunch going that late. I got the ribs with beans and plantains. The ribs and beans needed more seasoning. The ribs were a little too fatty but they were tender and the bourbon sauce on them was good. I enjoyed the plantains. read more

The food is amazing! We tried all the meats on the menu and loved them all! It was fun to dip them in different sauces and change the flavors. We also got the Cuban flatbread--so delicious! I've been to Lechon a few times and they are consistently solid. Outside the food court at Triangle Center Mall, they are a walk-up counter service with table service and a full bar. Their food is good and service is typically friendly. My usual order is the 1/4 Dark Chicken plate with Lechon rice, seasoned rice with some legume mixed in and topped with a small amount of pulled Lechon pork. It's delicious and absolutely worth the $2 up charge. Overall good food, if not a little toned down for American tastes. Warning...the Peruvian Aji Verde sauce is basically just mayonnaise. But the Garlic Sauce is off the charts great and the chimichurri is very good. Lechon is definitely worth a visit and probably the best food you'll find at the mall. Check them out! read more

Located across from the Barnes & Noble at Triangle Town Center (backside of the mall). You can get in from the food court or there's an entrance outside the building as well. Employee (co-owner) was friendly and greeted us when we walked in. Opted for the 1/4 dark chicken and crispy pork with plantains and elote corn. Honestly, the sides were better than the meat. Unfortunately I thought the pork was a bit greasy and lacked flavor (probably should've gotten a sauce but I didn't like that they charge you for them). The chicken was average. Both sides were delicious though. They recently added burgers to their menu so I'd be interested in trying one. read more

I was SO excited to try Lechon but it was kind of disappointing!! The first issue was the pricing. The menu said that lechon with crispy skin and 2 sides is $16.99. But they charged me about $20 for the lechon with crispy skin and 2 sides! That is unfortunate because it's not what is listed on the menu, and also because I don't think the food justifies that higher price. The food was fine but it would be better. I enjoyed the crispy skin but the rest of the pork is just fine. The plantains were probably my favorite part. They had nice crispy edges. I also didn't really love the ambiance. The restaurant did not feel that fun and there was also hardly anyone there. read more

Food was really good. I did post a photo showing how little meat came on the sandwiches, for $17 I expect a little more than two small pieces of steak on the sandwich. My partner said the tostones were authentic along with the sweet plantains which both were really good. We both were full and enjoyed our meals. The way the restaurant works, you pick up a menu and sit down or order right there at the register. They then bring out your food. This was my first time visiting Lechon and I'll definitely be back. I'd consider this a huge hidden gem in Raleigh. When you get there, note that's it's inside triangle town center but has its own entrance right outside the mall. You order at the register and then they bring your food out to you, which is important to know so you're just not sitting at your booth confused. Service was pretty straightforward, the cashier and server was managing most of the front of the house and making drinks. It was fine because it was fairly slow and close to closing so they wait was not long at all. I ordered a passion fruit mojito and it was by far one of the best mojitos I've had on the east coast. I asked for the signature dishes and decided to order then. I ordered the lechon pernil with garlic sauce with the elote salad and lechon rice. Everything was so well seasoned and delicious! The garlic sauce was amazing and added a perfect additional flavor to the meat. I also got the churros for dessert and they were so good! They had a little filling as well which was a surprise. 1st time here and it won't be my last. My GPS didn't get me there so I called to find the exact location. It's in the Triangle Town Center directly across from the Barnes & Noble. I looked over the menu and wanted to order like 7 different things but for this first visit, I stuck with the half chicken & ribs combo and 2 empanadas. Those empanadas were amazing! So amazing that I wanted to order 2 more to go. I tried the pulled pork and the jerk chicken ones. The pulled pork ones were my fave! The chicken and ribs were also pretty tasty. The ribs were so tender. All in all, one of the best meals I've had in awhile. I am looking forward to going back and trying some more items off of the menu. read more

Pros: The very best Cuban sandwich locally, and great crispy fries. Service is good; they seem to genuinely care about what you think about their food, and take pride in it. An unusual location across from the Barnes & Noble in an almost dead mall. (atmosphere!) Cons: Some other dishes, as well as the signature pork on its own, can be extremely salty. Visited this spot yesterday for a double date and was excited from all the reviews and photos, but sadly it was lackluster. I got the Lechon with crispy skin, 2 sides and 2 empanadas with 2 drinks, coming to a total of $75 with tip. The crispy skin felt and tasted old, the pernil was good, latin potato salad was lacking in seasoning along with the rest of the sides we got. Empanadas were mid at best. Was really hoping for more from this spot, but I can at least check it off the list and most likely will not be returning. read more

I hate that the location is connected and next to a mall that is hanging on its last thread but -- don't let that stop you! The folks here are so kind and the food is amazing! I ordered the "Pork Lechon" plate that came with two sides. If you like beans and rice, you can ask them to top the rice with beans. I also got a side of corn. Make sure to ask for the delicious sauce! There are so many to choose from! For $18-20, you can easily feed two people with just enough room for dessert. Pork: Loved the crispy skin on top! The pulled pork just melted in your mouth. The flavors were on point! I could've ate this without any of the dipping sauce. Rice and Beans: Paired so well with the pork! Corn: A must-have! This new Latin BBQ restaurant is hog heaven for meat lovers. There is some real carnivore know-how going on. Five stars for a sit-down restaurant to go INTO Triangle Town Center! Having watched restaurant after restaurant shut down over the years at what should be a prime location, it is awesome that local folks chose this spot (where California Pizza Kitchen used to be...across from Barnes and Noble). Four of us this past Sunday showed up as they opened at noon. We grabbed a booth and menus. There are big decisions to make...pork or chicken? which pork or chicken? sandwich or empanadas? which sides? yellow sauce, green sauce or both? The one thing I knew going in was I definitely wanted to try the ribs and I love Peruvian chicken...so 1/4 dark meat chicken with the pork ribs for me...side of elote (corn) salad, and Cuban black beans. No choice for me where sauces were concerned...I had to try both. Husband went with a Cuban sandwich and fries. Other two wanted to try as many things as possible so they carefully planned their strategy to do so. Order and pay at the counter. We were given a number to put on our table and styrofoam cups to get our own drinks. A few minutes later the Gal came over to tell us they didn't have the ribs. WAH. Opted for pork and Sis got them to do the sausage which would normally not be an option with that particular combo. Not too long after that two of us received our food (we had ordered first). It was a little longer before the others got theirs. Favorites: the Lechon pork...there is a reason this is their namesake. It is specially marinated with crispy skin...truly outstanding. The other pork is great also, but the Lechon is exceptional. Loved the chicken. Moist with nice brown skin. Both sauces fantastic. Everyone was happy with all the chosen sides...from the Cuban black beans to the yucca fries, it's all good. As for the Cuban sandwich and fries, I asked Husband how it compared to others he has had and he said he would put it in the middle of the pack. Note: this restaurant has more of a fast-food vibe to it due to ordering at the counter, getting your own drinks, styrofoam cups and plastic utensils, but the food quality is way up there, booths are comfortable...it really is a must-try for folks who love Latin food. Very new and very good! Lechón Latin BBQ Joint is in the old California Pizza Kitchen spot at Triangle Town Center. This clean, open, order-at-the counter restaurant was busy for lunch this afternoon, but there was plenty of seating, including a few tables outside. My Peruvian chicken with black beans and yuca fries was perfectly cooked and spiced, and my friend devoured his jerk chicken sandwich (hold the pineapple). The menu was also included empanadas, tacos and a ton of other sandwiches (pork was a highlight, although we stuck with the chicken). If you order the yuca fries, be sure to taste them before salting. Ours were almost too salty, but we still enjoyed them. It took a while for our food to come out, but that's probably because they were quite busy and quite new. It's great to see a new restaurant in the space! read more

The food here was excellent. We decided to try something "different" for lunch today with our kids (ages 12 and 14) and we all ordered different items and they were all so delicious!! My son and I had the Jerk Chicken sandwich. My daughter had the lemon pepper dry rub wings. My husband had the bbq sandwich with jerk sauce and plantains. I also had tostones. I am such a fan!!! I am the mom who samples everyone's food and it was exceptional! Sergio offered amazing Service from order to departure and the Ambiance was very cool and laid back, very relaxing. First visit to this new spot, in the midst of soft opening. Great food! Lechon is set up in a former California Pizza Kitchen space. The interior is nicely re-done with a modern, Latin flair with lots of grays and blacks and a cool tile backsplash at the counter. The floor is re-done in a cool texture that looks like it's wet. A few remnants of CPK remain, like the central kitchen and pizza ovens and the seating layout. About 25 booths and a few tables are distributed around the room, plus a few outside on the patio. It's an eclectic menu of Latin favorites. Pork is featured, as you would expect from the name but also Peruvian-style roasted chicken and ribs, as well as empanadas, rice bowls, salad bowls, sandwiches, tacos and wings. Orders are placed at a central counter using laminated menus. Food is brought to the table. The crowd was thin on this mid-Saturday afternoon; the service was quick and crisp. As we were leaving, many customers coming in - a good sign for this new startup. We decided to try a pair of combo plates, each with 2 sides. The first is a 1/4 chicken (breast & wing) with fries and cole slaw. Chicken is spit-roasted golden brown with savory seasoning flecking the crusty skin. Meat is moist and juicy and very flavorful. Fries are lightly breaded and seasoned, then deep fried crunchy. Delicious dipped in the outstanding Aji Verde (Peruvian green sauce). The sauce is garlic-y, strong and tangy. Slaw is fresh and crisp, in a creamy, slightly sweet slaw dressing. Good! For the other combo, tried 1/4 chicken (thigh & drumstick) and pulled pork, with sides of black beans and plantains. Same chicken prep, but different part of the bird. Black beans are stellar - slow simmered with spices and fresh cilantro. Perfectly balanced between the beans and sauce and the cilantro adds just the right tone. Cuban-style black beans are one of my favorites and these are excellent. Plantains are another favorite and these are done right... just-ripe plantains, halved and deep fried till crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside, with just a touch of salt. Sweet and salty - YES! Spice-rubbed citrus-marinated pork is slow-simmered until it's fall-apart tender, then roughly shredded for Lechon's pulled pork. It's much juicier than NC-style (smoked) pulled pork, though textured similarly. No BBQ sauce here - but definitely dress it with that Aji Verde. Tender, juicy and delicious. Plenty of other things on the menu to try, so plenty of reasons to stop back. Great start, happy to show some support to a local restauranteur. read more
