Babe ($6.95) with added egg (because who has a breakfast sandwich without egg?!), came with chips and a pickle o.O
    Allison H.

I demanded a breakfast sandwich one Sunday morning when I was working and my partner, thankfully, obliged. Upon discovering HFMP was out of English muffins (a travesty), they recovered by patronizing Main St. Cafe. Their selection of The Babe ($6.95) for both of us sounded like an excellent choice - why wouldn't you want three types of meat on your sammie? - but I didn't think the execution held up to the enticement. I'm not sure why it doesn't have egg on it even though it's a breakfast sandwich, but my partner agreed and added it to both of our sandwiches (an upcharge, though I'm not sure how much). The sausage overpowered the ham and bacon, leading me to take it off and eat it separate instead, and the bacon seemed like it was a cheap cut. I liked the sauce and the bagel held up well to the meats. I can get with my breakfast sandwich being accompanied by sides (that's not typical!), but chips and a pickle?? First of all, I hate pickles, so that was a difficulty, but my partner wouldn't have known to say "no pickle" because it's a breakfast sandwich! Anyway, this is a cute spot in town and we live nearby so we likely will be back for a quick breakfast or lunch.

The building itself is super cool, the old mill really gives a cozy rustic vibe to the restaurant and the art and random pieces of equipment around the restaurant are super cool. Lots of seating - we had a reservation and I'd definitely recommend having one if you're going to try it out. I can imagine it gets busy. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and explained that the food is best for sharing. She gave us lots of recs and brought the food out as soon as it was ready and hot! They are constantly changing the menu so I'm not able to find the exactly names of the plates that we shared. We got a poke appetizer, mini tacos/pulled pork, fish with potatoes, and a pasta dish. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was really tasty. Everything we got was really delicious and generous portions. After dinner we went downstairs for the bar. We got a couple of espresso martinis and an old fashioned and listened to the live music. The music was a bit loud, but it was still a nice vibe to sit and have a drink after a filling meal. Overall, definitely recommend this spot if you live in the area or are passing through!

The aesthetic did not disappoint either. The restaurant can be simply described with one word: GORGEOUS. We had a drink at the bar, and it was delicious, and then were sat early for our table. Kendra, who was working as support for our waitress Megan, was so sweet and attentive. Megan promptly came over and went through the menu with us and we ordered - Caesar salad for Britt with the porterhouse and beef tartare for me with the Everyday But Sunday Sauce. I was stunned by the quality of food. It was hands down the best beef tartare I have had ANYWHERE. I mean, it was quite literally perfection on a plate. My rigatoni had meatballs that melted in my mouth, the sausage was tasty, and the hunk of pork was fork tender. The sauce itself was perfectly seasoned, the San Marzano tomatoes were beautifully cooked, and I had such a huge portion that a lot of it came home. As for Britt, he loved his Caesar and said the dressing was fantastic, he just personally prefers romaine lettuce over red leaf. The flavor of his steak was mind blowing. The fat was perfectly rendered and it was still cooked expertly at medium rare. Lastly, we got cookies for dessert. Two absolutely perfect peanut butter chip cookies that were lightly salted and served with a glass of milk. Unreal. I got an espresso martini and it was also incredible. Our bartender John should not be overlooked either. Great guy, a true mixologist, and we enjoyed chatting with him after dinner. Britt did go up to the kitchen to give his compliments to the chef, who came out and shook his hand. I wish I took pics other than my martini, but I was too busy stuffing my face with the masterpieces I was being served. We were absolutely blown away.

Right in the river that goes through Honeoye Falls...or maybe this is Mendon. There is a parking lot close by which I didn't know about so I parked on the street. It's super easy to get to. When you walk in there's a bar and there are two dining rooms, it's not a huge place but there was no wait. My friend and I were seated in the little dining room by the falls. It's very...intimate there are three tables and honestly, I felt like if I spoke at my normal voice level-I'd annoy the other diners. It's cozy...we made friends with the other table., Our server was friendly, she did call us guys though and we clearly not and that kind of grinds my gears a little. I didn't say anything to my friend but she also mentioned the use of the words guys.,it's a little burger bar joint so I know it's informal and that's nitpicky but I feel how I feel. She was on top of filling waters, the food came promptly. She set the check down without asking if we wanted dessert maybe they do t have any...I don't know but that was a missed opportunity. The food was really good. I got pizza logs...they are the same exact pizza logs you get anywhere else. The burger...mmmmm. I got the bacon blue. I asked for crispy bacon a well done burger, no lettuce or tomato. As you can see by my photo-it had lettuce. My order was repeated back to me so that's kitchen's fault. Easy enough to pick off. I would have like more blue cheese dressing...I couldn't tell if it was in there. This isn't the kind of bacon that gets crispy but it was done enough for me. The burgers are thin. Butter toasted roll. It was a nearly great burger! I had cottage cheese as a side and it was extremely 'creamy'...I can't say for sure but I feel like some milk was added to cut costs and stretch it because it was like soup. I wasn't able to each much of it. This place was so close to a five...and if you want a really good burger-this is the place.

They had a different setup for the festival so I ordered at their order window and took the pastry to go. I got the grape poptart, which was delicious. This was a cool experience, but I'd love to visit again when the Naples grape festival isn't happening.

Their menu has what you'd expect from a classic diner, prices are cheap, and service is quick! We got the Country Style Eggs and Patty Melt. Both lacked basic seasonings like salt & pepper. If I was rating off the food alone, I'd give it a 3/5. The home fries in the Country Style Eggs could've been crispier and adding hot sauce definitely saved this a bit. The biscuit we got with it was homemade and so delicious. It was warm, buttery, and satisfying. The Patty Melt was a bit dry and desperately needed a sauce. I used ketchup and asked for pickles which helped. The rye bread was surprisingly not dry and grilled nicely with butter. It was definitely a heavy meal but we needed it after a long drive. It's not the kind of place where you'll have an amazing meal but it'll do the job at a super affordable price.
