I visited Village Car Wash today and opted for the $45 package. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations--this is definitely not Classic Car Wash. The service felt very basic for the price. While the wash and vacuum were decent, the drying was subpar, the interior cleaning was lacking, and the windows were not cleaned well. The location itself is nice, and the ladies working there did an excellent job with vacuuming and customer care. It wasn't too busy, but they seemed to have a fair amount of business. However, I noticed they were using towels that didn't seem very clean, leaving dust and streaks on the interior, exterior, and windows. If you're looking for a thorough wash, I'd recommend just going through a gas station car wash unless you want to spend 25-40 minutes enjoying the fresh air. read more

Keep Driving Friend! This place was an absolute rip-off! I was charged $45 for a hand wash because they claimed it was necessary due to the brand of my car. I agreed, thinking my car needed the extra attention. After paying, I bought two popsicles for $5 and sat down to listen to a couple of songs on Apple Music. Within 10 minutes, they told me the car was done. There's no way they could have properly hand-washed the car in that time, and I was right...my car was still dirty! To make things worse, the lady undercharged me at first, then had to charge my card again to correct it. When I pointed out how dirty the car still was, they came over with dirty rags, gave a quick wipe, and tried to claim it was clean. It was a lazy and poor attempt. Absolutely horrendous and not worth the price they charge. For context, when I got there they said the tunnel wash was not working so they were offering hand washes for the prices of the tunnel washes. I got the village deluxe interior/exterior. I paid $42.99 and left a $5 tip in the tip jug they keep by the door (before they finished the job). Upon completion, I noticed there was very visible dirt and that the interior was obviously not wiped down properly. I also noticed that it wasn't properly vacuumed. There was also water all over the usb ports and electronics that they never wiped down. When I asked the guys doing the wipe down to address the issues, they had a snarky attitude and at one point said some obvious dirt were scratches and not dirt until I wiped it off in front of them. They were pretty dismissive. I go in to speak with the manager to express that the job wasn't done to my satisfaction, and he had an even worse attitude. He said "I gave you $50 wash for $42.99" like that was my fault and I should just accept it. I have visited this carwash many times over the years. For the most part they do a decent job. But I turns out they employ thieves. I recently suspected someone was taking money from the INSIDE of my center console. But couldnt be sure Today I placed a specific amount there. When I returned half of it was gone. Village car wash is a great place to have your car washed inside and out. I chose the deluxe wash where they rinse you car mats (we have weatherproof mats) and they did a great job. As far as other people complaining about the wait, I drop my car off while my husband and I do errands. I just let the owner know that we will be back in 45-60 minutes or so. I've been taking my Mercedes and Ram here many times. I have running boards on my Ram that sit 8" to the base off the ground, and they have ran it thru the washer probably a dozen times. Today for whatever reason they said it needs to be hand washed (which is more expensive). they said the rollers will hit the bottom of the running board! couldn't tell me why it's never been a problem all the last dozen of time it's been there before so I left. My Mercedes sits 6" off the ground, and that's not a problem I guess. Lost all my business after this interaction, plus they suck at cleaning the inside if the car anyway, unless you personally tip the guy while he does the work. Regardless of these reviews, this is the BEST car wash you can go to in Gilroy, and surrounding areas, for the price. Keep in mind, they take their time here on the wash and hand cleaning. So if your expecting a 20-30 minute wash, go to a drive-through instead. I've had washes in Morgan Hill and San Jose where I pay more for a crappy job, whereas here they actually do an excellent job, outside and inside. Make sure to always get the Village Ultra. The value is high for the cost. The owner is really nice once you get to know him. I've been going here for a long time and know they are struggling here because of COVID so come show your support! I got a over "size charge" for my compact crossover. I've never had that charge with any other car wash. They have no sense of urgency! There was 1 cars ahead of me at the vacuums but it still took them a full hour. When the machine blower came on it smelled like a sewage treatment plant. Dude left my car running for like 15 minutes before I asked him to stop wasting my gas and turn it off. (Gas is between $5-$6.75 per gallon right now.) I got a upgraded wash to get the rims cleaned but didn't clean the rims and flagged my car as done. I had to ask him to clean them... then ask again! My car had a terrible vacuum job and when I got home I had to finish cleaning the rims and redo the windows myself. He knew I wasn't happy with the final work and just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I could have done a better job at home in less time. I should have left town earlier and just gone to Whaler's in Santa Cruz because I was heading over there anyway.
