On a recent stop in Granville, we enjoyed coffees to go from this cute little cafe. Both the white chocolate mocha and the iced "Chilly Willy" were delicious. We also got a bowl of the soup of the day, which was a creamy potato soup with bacon. They had a great sandwich and soup menu and a case full of baked treats. Would definitely stop again next time we are nearby. read more

The store was very busy when we went on a Saturday morning - with a line out of the door. The line moved pretty fast. I got a really tasty bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant. I loved how the bacon was really crispy. I also got a latte that was tasty. read more

Village Coffee Company is pretty average. It's okay for somewhere like Granville. They don't have much to compete against. It's kind of expensive for what you get. There's also food but it's average too. A good thing about it is that it's a local business. I would rather go here than to a chain. The problem is that it doesn't put out that good of a product. It has some decent tasting coffee. The price for it is similar to Starbucks but the quality is off. It's about $3 for a regular coffee. The one was kind of watery. It also has a small food menu. There are some items like salads but it's kind of too expensive for these. I like to support local businesses and that includes Village Coffee Company. It's a nice place for Granville. The quality could be a lot better though. read more

What a great hangout! It's almost like a New England town right in the middle of Ohio but that's because of Denison University, which is the heartbeat of the towns economy. So this place is filled with a great mixture of locals, students and parents. It's wonderful! read more

Prices are decent, but coffee is subpar. The coffee lacks depth of flavor, the shop is nice and is in picturesque downtown Granville, but it doesn't make up for the icky coffee, but hey its probably the only coffee shop within a 2 mile radius I'm assuming. Closed on Sundays?! Come on man! It's 2017!! It's super frustrating when a business arbitrarily closes on Sundays. I get it. It's your business and your call to make. However, there is a way to have your cake and eat it too as a business owner that doesn't involve closing for 1/7 of the week and 1/2 of the weekend! Religion, family time, whatever your reason, you CAN have your way and be open for your customers 7 days/week! Breakfast and lunch sandwiches here are delicious! Ingredients have always tasted super fresh, and the turkey has never disappointed me. I always want to branch out and try new featured sandwiches, but ever since Village introduced the turkey avocado club, I haven't been able to deviate. That is a perfect sandwich. The homemade cookies, pies, biscotti, and pastries are a dream. Sadly I'm not much of a coffee drinker anymore, but when I was, the Brazil Italian roast was my favorite one there, and the frozen Milky Way was my jam. Now I get the iced chai and I love it. Basically I've never been let down by Village. Love their product. read more

Village Coffee Co. takes Granville's captive food market to an extreme. It does the bare minimum that is necessary to stay in business, serving substances that resemble food but are utterly lacking in flavor. For example: I ordered a scrambled egg bagel sandwich with cream cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Sounds good, right? Unfortunately, the bagel was thin, dry, and only slightly warm, and the eggs themselves were literally those nasty little pre-made patties that are served in hotel continental breakfasts. Yuck! The tomato was grainy and tasted like cardboard, and the lettuce was limp and practically white. The coffee tastes like water, and, as with everything in Granville, the whole menu is waaayyyy too expensive. In short: Village Coffee Co. does not serve coffee and food; rather, it serves brown water and substances slightly resembling real food that might contribute something in terms of nutritional value but offer absolutely nothing in terms of flavor. I've been here several hours now getting some work done, and I must say my enjoyment has improved since my last visit. The chairs by the fireplace are very comfortable. They also played Lana Del Rey who happens to be my favorite artist so bonus points there!! :) I got a regular soy chai which tasted wonderful! No flavoring needed. Only downside was teh texture was watery. Not as creamy as I'd like it to be. Again, the flavor was on point. There seems to be a lack of outlets, which would make actually getting work done hard for some when the establishment is busy. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Villiage Coffee has good coffee with a variety of food options. I usually go for an Americano and a croissant sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon. The Americano tastes delicious and is served at a hot temperature, but not dangerously hot, which is good! The croissant sandwich is always served warm. The sandwich also has good flavor and texture; however, it can be very greasy. The ambiance is casual and definitely a good spot to do some work. The lounge area has comfortable seats and an electronic fireplace, which is pretty neat. There is also a few outdoor tables outside if that is your style. The employees are respectful, nice, and are quick to serve orders. Overall, this is a decent place to get coffee. It's not extravagant, but it's comfortable if you want to stay. If you are in a need to leave quickly, rest assured that your order will be ready fairly quickly. read more

Earned a star based on the good Mocha. The food was disappointing at best. Portions are very small & for the price - definitely not worth it. I was floored when the Turkey Bacon Club($5.85) was served on burnt (black) toast - we sent it back... They hadn't even made the attempt at scrapping the worst of it off. The bread used on it and on the build your own Ham sandwich is from the off-brand section of the local grocery store. The Sierra Turkey Wrap was a very good 'salad' with a touch of turkey and a pinch of provolone - the Chipotle mayo was good & at least the lettuce was fresh. Normally I love to support the non-chain restaurants - but this is one place that makes me question that philosophy. If you want a coffee drink or coffee, stop in otherwise walk on by! read more

Happened to be in downtown Granville on family business and decided to grab a late lunch there instead of going down the road to a fast food joint. Very glad I did. Shop was neat, clean and looked comfortable. Staff was friendly and courteous. Took a couple of minutes to get my sandwich after I finally decided what I wanted, but I think that's because they cooked fresh bacon for my TBC. Sandwich and cinnamon roll were very tasty, and prices were decent compared to the high-end sandwiches and pastries at a chain. If I roll through town again, I'll make a point of stopping in again to try something new. read more

I've been stopping in here almost every day for coffee for about 15 years. I return because the staff is super-friendly, the coffee tasty, the bagels fresh (and you can get one after 11AM, unlike at our other local coffee shop) and the sandwiches especially good - they roast the turkey right on site. I also love the back sitting area...comfy oversized chairs by a not-real-but-cute fireplace, always a paper around to read, and free wi-fi. Also, the location can't be beat. read more

Every time I went there I didn't have anything good. Neither did whichever person I went with. They didn't even have good homemade buckeyes! Bad pastries. Lattes were really bad though attempts to be similar to River Road Coffee House - go the extra few blocks to River Road because Village Coffee Co is not worth it. read more

I love supporting local businesses when I'm out and I love coffee. I was hesitant to check this place out because the reviews of this coffee house are not glowing but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not saying that this is the best coffee house this side of Seattle but it will do in a pinch and you're helping out local business. The coffee was pretty good and the homemade cranberry orange fat free muffin was tasty as well. The quarters are a little cramped but that's to be expected in downtown Granville.
