I've now been to the Coffee Shack a few times after I get a massage next door at Dynamic Wellness and they never disappoint. They partner with local businesses to ensure that their food is fresh and clean, which I really appreciate. I strongly suggest getting the blueberry coconut smoothie as there is nothing like this around Columbus area. I live about 20 minutes and would drive for the smoothie. Last time I was there I got bacon, egg, and cheese on a sourdough bread. You can really tell how fresh the ingredients are and it's just very good. read more

We stopped in here while visiting the Newark Earthworks mounds. Tucked away in a cool building with other wellness focused businesses. Cozy vibes with lots of seating at tables and a comfy couch. The staff were all super nice too. We were excited they were open on 4th of July! We tried the full size Bourbon Chicken salad which was HUGE and fed both me and my husband. Cool coffee shop in a very odd place. Tucked in a semi-industrial area off the main drag; wasn't sure I was in the right place but there was a sign out by the road. Go all the way back. You'll smell the coffee. Got an iced latte that was darn good. Also a bagel that was pretty good. Service was great. Prices are reasonable. I left, but the place was welcoming and would have been cool to hang out in. They make their own root beer but sadly were out. I'll be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Off the beaten path and tucked away in a nondescript strip mall, I thought the reviews were wrong when we pulled up to park. I even said if we didn't like the shack when we entered, we didn't have to stay. Glad that we did! I had an iced Earl Grey tea that was as tasty as my friend's coffee. Visited this morning for the first time. The shop seems like a quiet little place for meetings, studying, or working. The folks working were nice and helpful. The menu has a variety of drinks, hot and cold, and the breakfast menu had some variety, too. Unfortunately, my partner and I just were not in love with the food. Our order wasn't wrong--the food just didn't work for us. Partner got a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The sausage's flavor had a sweetness, which didn't work well with the rest of the ingredients. And the everything bagel was tough--not just because it was toasted, but because it was too dense. It's definitely not a traditional or NY-style bagel. Plus, it was very, very light on the everything seasoning. The sandwich was constructed well, but the ingredients didn't reflect what one would expect for a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. Partner also got a cherry limeade. It was closer to seltzer water with cherry and lime syrups added to it--not an actual limeade. I got a fruit and yogurt parfait. Blueberries, strawberries, granola, and honey on Greek yogurt. Coffee Shack is easily the best coffee in this area. It's hard to find anything not fast food. This is one of the few restaurants that's not a chain. It's not expensive like many independent coffee houses. The coffee itself is better and cheaper than Starbucks. I had the Ethiopian in a medium roast with almond milk. It's about $3 for a regular size, pretty good for the quality. The coffee took awhile to make, but it seemed like they did everything with care and it turned out terrific. It was smooth, and wasn't excessively hot. They also have a food menu. I had the avocado hummus toast, which comes on good bread. This is about $5 for toast, but it's thick. It says their products don't have many extra ingredients. The ingredients not used include GMOs and high fructose corn syrup. The place is hard to find. It's located on 22nd Street. Take it to the strip mall on the right side and it's on the end farthest away from it. read more

I've heard many positive things about the Coffee Shack and I was looking forward to my visit. Overall, the coffee and food was average. Wasn't anything to write home about, but not terrible either. I was shocked at the level of customer service I received. While placing my order, the employee acted as if I was bothering her. When I asked a couple of questions about the menu, she made it clear that she was very annoyed by her body language and her very short answers. We received our coffee order. I had to remind them of the additional items we had ordered after waiting a significant amount of time. We came at a time there was not very busy. Customer service was obviously not a priority to the two women working behind the counter. I will not return. I will definitely share my experience with others in the area. read more

Please don't come for me y'all but Coffee Shack kinda left me coffee sad. The decor is super cute and eclectic. Very nice space with plenty of seating. The menu is expansive with nom and nosh options to satisfy savory and sweet cravings. The baked goods are made on site each and everyday and their mantra to support local and be good stole my heart. So where's the problem? The dyes. Soooo many food dyes are in their "French" syrups. As a person who is severely allergic to find out a place advertising on their window that they use no artificial dyes but red dye 40 is plastered all over the bottles this is such a disappointment. Hard not to wonder what other claims might not really be on the up and up. And the saddest thing of all, I ordered a cap and received three shots of burnt liquid and about a quarter cup of foam - no milk. Super strange. I'd recommend this place. Great brewed coffee and the staff, while young is mostly friendly although you get your occasional sassy teen girl who would rather be doing a task than helping a guest. Overall. their pricing is good and their lunch salads are very good as well. I have also purchased bulk coffee beans as well and thy were excellent. As if that weren't impressive enough, Their coffee is truly fantastic, and quite satisfying! One of their good-natured Baristas recommended a house favorite, "The Shack". I loved it! It was savory and delicious! They say that 'variety is the spice of life', and The Coffee Shack offers a wide variety of great-tasting and flavorful coffees. The atmosphere is as amazing as their coffee. The warm ambience and decor is completely inviting. They offer a spacious area, with plenty of seating (whether you are stopping in for a quick cup of joe, during a break, or having a causal gathering with a group of friends, you will not be disappointed). They even have a private room. The owners are some of the most friendly and hospitable folk around, and the staff are kind, courteous and more than happy to answer any questions you might have regarding their extensive menu. (Did I mention that they offer a huge variety?) It isn't easy to stand out as a coffee shop (with so many carbon copies popping up everywhere) but they have managed to do so, overwhelmingly. I found this shop while continuing my journey on the Licking County Beverage Trail, and it exceeded all expectations I could have had for it. It's a cute little shop in a somewhat industrial area, yet it's cozy. The staff was more than helpful and friendly. What really excited me was the variety of options they have for those with dietary restrictions. My mother was beyond ecstatic to have a gluten free everything bagel and a smoothie with rice milk. They also have other dairy alternatives. I had been craving a Block's bagel for a couple weeks, and the universe agreed I should have one, because they sell them! I had a Block's everything bagel breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. They have a large selection of fresh, in house roasted coffee drinks as well as loose leaf tea and even hand crafted pop. I went with a seasonal special of a hot peach cobbler latte and it tasted like the real deal, but wasn't overly sweet which was great. This has been one of the better stops for me on the Licking County Beverage Trail. read more
