Driving through this little town & decided to stop for lunch. The ambiance was typical of a small town diner. Our friendly server took our drink order while we perused the menu. Hubby got the Smoked Pork Chop w/2 sides: green beans & mashed potatoes. I ordered off the breakfast menu: Deep fried SW Tortilla bowl. We both enjoyed our food. While we were eating, our wonderful server dropped off a plate of 3 biscuits with sausage gravy saying it was made in error & she didn't want to throw it out. How kind of her! Hubby doesn't like sausage gravy but I loved it. We would definitely return here when in the area.

Cute, clean local diner, friendly staff, and a cow/farmhouse theme. It wasn't busy so we could choose our table. Crystal took good care of us. We ordered tea and breakfast. Many locals here - Crystal knew everyone that came in or called for pick up. Hubby had country fried steak with eggs over easy, home fries and homemade biscuits. He said everything was great but the gravy was excellent - fresh, flavorful, light & creamy - not pasty at all! I had pancakes, eggs and bacon - the pancakes were plate size and I couldn't finish them. Love that they had real butter! Great breakfast. Will definitely stop back when in the area!

The specials are a good deal.

If you like small town dive diners you'll line the deals here. Rough building but great prices. $6.99 for a half pound burger and a load of fries.

This is a local diner. So it's not a gourmet fancy restaurant. But there's a lot of attention to detail. I got the veggie on line, and they sauteed the vegetables first... so much better that way. The hash Browns were well cooked, crispy on the outside. I had a fresh coffee which was hot. It's a great place for what's feels like a home cooked meal.

    Breakfast was awesome!

This Gem is less than 3 miles off I71 so it's easy to get off the interstate and try this place. You won't be disappointed! We were traveling on a Saturday morning and wanted a quality sit-down breakfast instead of drive-thru junk or a chain restaurant. We found the Village Cornerstone on yelp and decide to try it. The food, service and value were all excellent.

You seat yourself! We came for a super late lunch / early dinner and there were customers but open tables to pick from! The waitress quickly grabbed our drink order and I came for the all you can eat fish fry on Fridays !!! Theo did was fast and the fish was amazingly, everything we got was great! We will definitely be back! Busy place for pick up and dining in!

The Three Cheese Grilled Cheese had an insane cheese pull and was loaded with melty, delicious cheese. The tater tots were surprisingly flavorful, seasoned with a unique blend that definitely had onion and a hint of garlic, along with other spices I couldn't quite identify--but they were fantastic! The Mouthful definitely lives up to its name. It's huge, incredibly filling, and absolutely worth ordering if you're hungry. To top it all off, we tried the crème brûlée for the first time ever, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. It was delicious and made for an awesome first experience with the dessert. Overall, South Street Grill exceeded all expectations. It does get busy, which isn't surprising considering how good the food is, but it's easy to get to and well worth the wait. A MUST-TRY if you're in the area! We'll definitely be back!

The smoked pork belly end app was excellent. The sauce is a tad sweet for me but they tasted great. I got the steak bombs which were chunks of sirloin marinated and grilled. They added onions and mushrooms as an option and giant baked potato on the side. The prices are very reasonable. It's a nice atmosphere and I noticed they have various events outside during the summer that look fun. I'll definitely be back!

It's a big restaurant off of a country road with plenty of parking. As of two weeks ago they were doing work on the highway that was kind of unpleasant with grated roads and lane closures but it looks like it will be done soon maybe.... Anyway, it's a large space with a gift shop and shabby chic decor that all appeared to be for sale since everything has a price tag on it even in the restaurant. The service was pleasant enough. The menu has fairly straightforward cafe like offerings of sandwiches and salads. I wanted something light so I opted for the cesar salad in spite of my reservations when it said tomatoes and olives were on it. Weird but whatever chicken, lettuce, croutons and cesar dressing still felt on brand so I went for it. This is not a cesar salad. It was a salad with balsamic dressing of some kind, toasted bread with the crust cut off and a cold chicken breast. And, it comes with bread but I was told they didn't have rye so I ended up with sourdough that was also not sourdough and the waitperson didn't bring it until I was mostly through eating my refrigerator cold chicken. Just, yikes. Additionally, I still don't know how there was rye for my sister's sandwich but I wasn't allowed to order it with my food. As for her lunch, the pastrami was fine but with a lackluster amount of meat. The French onion soup was the only thing that felt reasonable with quality and price. All in all, I think the snack bars or even grocery stores in the area/ Amish country appeared to have better offerings. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch. The gift shop was cute and reasonably priced so maybe check it out for that but that's it.

Always delicious and beautiful setting for lunch. Crowded most of the time so make a reservation…read more The French onion soup is great

Per our request, our party of six was seated on the outdoor patio overlooking the Chagrin River waterfall, which made for a beautiful setting. One thing to note: you cannot reserve patio seating in advance, but you can request it upon arrival if space is available. We started with four appetizers: *Heavenly Biscuits - AMAZING. *Short Rib Potstickers - Excellent. *Spinach Artichoke Dip - Excellent. *Grilled Artichoke - Good, but not really my style of dish. For entrées, we tried several different items: *Grilled Fish of the Day (Grouper) - Excellent, although the portion was on the smaller side. *Lake Erie Walleye Fish & Chips - Very good. *Thai Steak Noodle Salad - Excellent. *Steak and Frites - Excellent. We also ordered two sides: *Coleslaw - Very good. Is it the best coleslaw I've ever had? No. Is it excellent and worth ordering? Absolutely. *Roasted Baby Yukons - Excellent. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the restaurant graciously provided a complimentary dessert sundae. While the gesture was appreciated, I do wish guests were given a choice of dessert. The sundae was fine, but with several outstanding ice cream shops nearby, the ice cream itself was fairly average. Service was quick and efficient overall. There were a few minor areas for improvement: Wet naps would have been appreciated, as we had to request extra napkins multiple times throughout the meal. Service slowed down a bit during the dinner rush. The steak entrée arrived noticeably later than the rest of the main courses, which may have been due to the kitchen being overwhelmed. It also took a little longer than expected to receive extra plates when requested. These were relatively minor issues, however, and did not significantly detract from the evening. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience with great food, a beautiful patio overlooking the waterfall, and solid service. We would gladly return and would certainly recommend it for special occasions or a nice evening out.
