I was in the market for new glasses as my pair, was outdated. Pre Warby, I relied on well-known eye wear chains to purchase my set of specs however in past experience; the cost of buying a new pair (even with company eye insurance) was very expensive. After my coverage, I would find myself spending close to $500.00 (out of pocket) for frames and lenses; standard lenses mind you, not progressive. This time around, I wanted to shop smarter. I decided to do some research and came across Warby Parker. I checked out their website and liked a lot of their fashion forward styles, plus I was immediately sold on the price point of $95.00. That alone was the deal breaker. Luckily, I had a prescription that was close to expiring so with prescription in tow, I made the trek up to Lincoln Park to visit the storefront. It was late on a Sunday afternoon and the traffic driving into the city was proving to be a big challenge. As soon as I found a parking spot along Armitage Avenue, I had only 18 minutes to spare till closing time. Hurriedly walking towards the store, I grew anxious thinking I wouldn't arrive on time to get in and be seen. I was told prior to coming in, they accepted walk-ins and no appointment was necessary. Customer volume (on any given day) is unpredictable so I took a gamble hoping someone could assist me. As soon as I arrived, the store was packed! There were at least a dozen folks browsing the merchandise. Thankfully, I knew what I wanted as soon as I came in and within a few steps, in the center of the store, I was met with a helpful salesperson by the name of Faith who greeted me the instant I made eye contact. She asked if I was looking for anything in particular and with that opener, we got the ball rolling. I browsed the website days before to check out frames and already knew which styles I had in mind. Granted, I could've taken up their option to have five pairs to try on and have them sent straight to my home for convenience. This option would've been ideal but my shopping preferences don't allow for it. I personally prefer to shop the old school way and visit a brick and mortar where I have the liberty to talk to a sales rep and test drive merchandise in store. Shopping in store also provides an opportunity to ask questions should any arise. So I proceeded to tell her the names of the styles I was interested in. Faith was able to pull the exact pairs I was looking for from the shelves in an instant. After deciding between two pairs, I purchased my Millie glasses with light responsive lenses. The final bill after tax was under $197.00. Shipping was free and I received my pair within a week. It's been over a month since my glasses arrived and I am confidently satisfied with the experience. I'm in love with the brand, their people, and their mission. In fact, I plan on bringing my husband back for his very first pair in the coming months. At first, he was skeptical so I showed him a few pairs off the website and he told me, "As long as I don't look like Chris Hayes after all this, we're good." Deal!

I think im gonna come back for these

WP basically turned a typically mundane business operation and LEVELED IT ALL UP! Process of booking an appointment : 5 stars Layout of store: 5 stars Customer service: 5 stars Check in/out process: 5 stars Staff: 5 stars (Balance of being helpful wo being overbearing) Eye doctor: 5 stars Eye exam: 5 stars Eyeglasses selection: 5 stars (i had a hard time deciding bc there were so many i loved) and now thinking bout a pair of sunnies i may want to return for. Prices/value: 5 stars (glasses are between $95-$199) Fun: they have a photo booth if u wanna take some pics! I felt comfortable taking my time picking out glasses and trying a bunch of them on. Very very happy with my experience and cant wait to get my glasses soon.

I ordered the 5 frames to try after looking at their wide array of styles online. I was able to find a pair that I liked online but it was great to check out their store in the city because there were other styles that I liked that I couldn't order for a home try on. It's great that they give you specs on the size dimensions on the frame (narrow, wide, low bridge, medium) but sometimes you really won't know until you try it on. The store looks so cool and hip with all the books and art, it looks like a cool library. The glasses were displayed so neatly and there were a lot of representatives that greeted you right away and was trying to help you without being pushy. I ended up choosing another frame at the store and the original one from the home try on seemed a little fragile, surprising for plastic frames. I really liked that you can go to the store if the fit is not right and they can measure your PD (pupillary distance). I have astigmatism and really strong prescription but I really liked that even with ultra high index option add on (only $30) it was really cheap, total with frames $125. The only concern was that the prescription was not as crisp so I am going to get a second opinion before the 30 day return policy.

Dr. Patel saved my vision!…read more I've been going to Red Eye for many years. The service has always been good, and I like the photos they take of the inside of the eye to look for changes year-over-year. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. On March 8th I took a blow to the head. Seemingly nothing much. It hurt. It was annoying. I got on with my day. But, the next evening I noticed a flash of light kept popping up in the corner of my eye. A quick Goog told me it was likely an issue with my retina (none of the usual "it could be a cold, or cancer--just the one thing). I made an appointment online and Dr. Patel took a photo inside my eye. There was nothing to be seen. However, 2 weeks later as I sat at my desk minding my business, I saw a black wavy line in the corner of my eye. Something that moved with the liquid in my eye. Moments later, that black line was many fine black lines spider-webbing across my field of vision. In another minute, it was gone. I emailed Red Eye to see if I should panic now or sleep on it and then panic, not really expecting a reply since it was close to 5, and within a few minutes Dr. Patel called. She had me come in at 10am the next day, HER DAY OFF, 4 HOURS BEFORE HER FLIGHT. I was worried I was interfering with her vacation, especially if it was nothing, but she insisted. And it was not nothing. My retina had torn. Nothing could have been done to prevent it, but now that it happened, she acted quickly. She called and got me an appointment at Chicago Retina the same day. When I got there, the ophthalmologist said the tear could have become a far more serious detachment in a matter of days or even hours. I was able to get laser surgery that day to prevent further tearing. If Dr. Patel hadn't contacted me immediately, insisted I come in, sacrificed her time off...lots of "ifs" could have resulted in a delay in treatment that could have led to much more serious damage. I'm so grateful to her!

I was in town for only a few days and needed a DMV vision report. Since they originally issued my prescription, I figured they could provide it quickly. I asked if they could give me the standard DMV vision letter. They told me the doctor "wasn't in," but then said that if I did a vision test and my prescription stayed the same, they could give me the report. Based on that assurance, I agreed and paid $90 for a new exam. After the test, they confirmed my prescription hadn't changed -- but then refused to give me the DMV report anyway. At that point it felt like a complete scam. Their refusal meant I couldn't complete my same-day appointment and had to start the whole DMV process over on another day. Because they wouldn't provide the report, I ended up buying a new pair of glasses I didn't even need just so I could finish my DMV renewal during the limited time I was in town. The glasses weren't optional -- their refusal forced me into it. I'm extremely disappointed. The staff gave me information that turned out to be false, wasted my time, cost me money I didn't need to spend, and left me without the simple document I came in for. Completely unprofessional and absolutely not a place I'd ever trust again.
