They also prioritize being sustainable, sourcing locally grown produce when possible and being eco friendly. Service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive, polite, and everything came out quickly. They have lots of seating inside but reservations are recommended. I ordered the hickory burger which was delicious and filling, and it came with very tasty fries and a homemade ranch to dip them in. Although that filled me up, I also got the cashew butter pie to go, which was heavenly! That came with caramel and cashews to garnish. Excellent service and food. Started with a sirloin soup that had beef, potatoes, mushrooms, and I think onions. It was awesome. The meat was tender, everything was tasty, and the liquid was thicker than broth but not as thick as gravy. For my entree I had the fettuccine with chicken and prosciutto. It was filling. The pasta was a perfect tenderness but not over cooked. The sauce was good and there was plenty of chicken, prosciutto, and mushrooms. Got cashew butter pie (yes cashew not peanut) to go. Gave the place a fair chance and visited three times .. all three times they managed to over cook under cook or just plain ruin the meal. First was the stuffed chicken.. so over cooked it was impossible to eat .. next was the filet first it came out raw then they managed to burn it ....the pasta is way undercooked and the steamed vegetables come out cold.. thrid it was the strip ...over cooked tough and way to much fat. I've been coming here since I was little. I practically grew up in this restaurant. This place will always have a special place in my heart. As a customer, the service is always great as well as the food. My favorite dish on the menu is the fettuccine alfredo and the cheeseburgers! For dinner I like the ribs, baked potato, and an extra side of broccoli. On the dessert menu you cannot go wrong with cheesecake or cashew butter pie! I always recommend to check out the specials board. The ambiance is hard to beat too. It's a great place to bring your family for a visit. The Village Grill used to be one of my Favorites for years. Something has changed with Service and Food Quality. After being basically housebound almost 2 years helping members of my Family avoid Covid, We saw the Grill was open for Business. Previously, we had visited the Restaurant 3-5 times every week, and were extremely happy with the Service-and Food. We walked in for Lunch, prior to Lunch Time, and the Hostess was extremely Rude. That is the 1st time we ever experienced that type of reaction there. We were asked, " Did we have Reservations ", I could not help but Respond-In Abbeville, on Wednesday? We were the only Customers in the Restaurant. After about 20 minutes we were seated, I started to give up and go to another place. But as we were about to leave, the Hostess finally did seat us at the table 12 inches from where we were standing. I ordered the Blue Plate Special, which was a Chicken with Wild Rice Dish that Day, with tea! Others ordered Specials and from the Menu, some with Tea and others water, which always previously was truly good. Everything was previously very good. My food was cold when it arrived, seemed most of the other group had the same experience. No one, came to the table to check. I did go to the hostess and explain our food had arrived cold. But, it was useless. We could not even get a Tea or Water Refill. Perhaps they were having an off day or training, idk. But we ended up just paying and leaving the unfinished meals, along with the empty glasses (that never were refilled). Haven't been back since that experience! We found 2 more Restaurants close that we were not treated rudely, also where the food is very good without the long wait especially when we are the 1st customers of the day! I did question if the Grill has new ownership, that day! But, was not given an answer. Does anyone know the answer? If they aren't under new ownership, I will chock it up as they may have been short of help or there was another reason for the poor service and treatment. Really great food and the servers are so friendly! We came right when it opened on a Thursday and it was already filled but they were able to fit us in. Omg!! You kind of think it's going to be this little hole in the wall, but oh my, when you walk in you realize just how Big the restaurant is! The bar area s very nice offering plenty of seating, a big screen tv (in case you're worried you might miss the latest game!) and the wait staff are top notch. Our waitress was extremely attentive & when she was busy other staff members were quick to stop in & check on us. Try the prime rib sandwich, you won't be disappointed - and the honey mustard chicken is perfect. I ordered the Mediterranean pasta salad that had the best garlic bread I've ever esteem with it. My hubs had a bacon and bbq cheeseburger with hand cut fries! He cleaned his plate!! I was so excited about trying this place based on the reviews. We met a family member halfway and decided to grab lunch here. I ordered the 1/4 rotisserie chicken, my husband ordered a burger without a bun, and my sister ordered the half rotisserie chicken. After taking the orders, our waitress became very busy and we didn't see her for several minutes. The manager came to our table and let us know that they had run out of rotisserie chicken and would not be able to make enough for the two orders. My sister then re-ordered a burger without a bun and that she would like to have the same sides if she could. The manager agreed and made the change with the kitchen. When our orders finally came out, The burger that my sister had ordered was made with a bun. Another waitress, who is not originally assigned us, told my sister she would take the bun back to the kitchen. She then proceeded to wait until we handed her back the bun. It was extremely awkward and unprofessional. If this had been a franchise, it never would've happened. Upon receiving our checks, our table was charged for an extra side because my sister had to re-order. Apparently, her first order came with two sides but the second order should have only come with one. When we explain the mistake to our waitress, she was very confused and upset that the manager had not passed that information along. She let us know that she was given a table of 18 but was also expected to continue serving other tables around the restaurant. They ended up charging us half the price for my sisters burger. The ribs are some of the best I've had in this part of the state, and I'd gladly drive 100 miles for the privilege of wrapping my kisser around one of those bad boys. This is the best restaurant within 100 miles. There are other restaurants who might have one great dish, but none are as well-rounded and complete as the Village Grill. The food is both constant and consistent; the portions are appropriate size and the food is excellent. I order from the menu most times (half rack of ribs), but my wife always orders from the weekly specials, which are unmatched. We are regular diners here and have ne'er been disappointed. I tried this place based on Yelp and TripAdvisor ratings. This place is expensive for what you get and the food is very marginal. You have to pay extra for fries. We had a Rueben sandwich, $10.99 and had to pay $2.95 for a side of slaw. The sandwich had shreds of corned beef about 2 oz, (or less) the bread fell apart (from being old), there was mayo on the bread (never on a Rueben) and the cheese was shreds (it probably wasn't even swiss, not pieces). We also ordered 10 wings for $11. They were dry and when there wasn't enough hot sauce on the wings and I asked for more, they charged me $0.45. What place does that? Everything is at least $10 even a 7oz hamburger, remember without fries, folks. The manager did give us a 50% discount on the Rueben, however it sure left a bad taste in my mouth.
