What would it take to get a five star rating out of me? I'm not sure. Maybe EITHER more rustic & secluded OR more luxurious & refined? It was a 6-6:30 hr drive for us but it was worth it. I definitely recommend this place if you have a large family looking to enjoy some time together out in nature. The resort itself is small and would be a great place for a family reunion. There are plenty of boating options and the sand family that owns the resorts also owns a business up there road renting kayaks and canoes. There is a convenience store and pizza place within walking distance and the Pictured Rocks and downtown Munising are just a short drive away. We loved our visit and we'll definitely be back!

Reservations were by phone and I received a confirmation email with instructions on where to meet. The young man who checked us in was friendly and helpful. We walked the 1/3 mile up the road to the put-in, though the resort offers a free shuttle as well. The river is glorious: a 7-mile easy float through mostly uninhabited areas in the U.P., with clear water, towering pines, sand beaches, and wildlife. The ducks are very friendly and will approach looking for handouts. We enjoyed our 2+ hours on the river and will definitely be back.
