    Stuffed Deep Dish Italian Supreme
    Christopher J.

For years I've wanted to eat here. Word-of-mouth the takeout, lunch and dine-in dinner specials were good choices, so we decided to dine in for our weekly Family Night. To me, the dining experience was like a mix of 70's to 90's era of pizza places; dark with a lot of character. This has been a staple of Yuma for decades, with smoking and non-smoking sections back in the day, as I understand it! We sat in the front (the backroom was used for a party), and ordered our meal. Consisting of a large stuffed deep dish Italian Supreme pizza, the Salad Bar and 2 pitchers of soda. The pizza: good, way better than originally thought. The Salad Bar was run-of-the-mill. I also enjoyed the ambiance of the place, though they could use an upgrade on the wall-mounted tv's. It all made for a good time.

This pizza place gives off those old school pizza joint vibes. The pizza is nice and light making it perfect for lunch. There is a ton of room to accommodate bigger groups. The staff are upbeat and will make sure your meals are what you want. The only issue is with the flies that interfere with the dining experience.

    Yuma special and pastrami pizza

The pizza sauce and ingredients were just off putting. The sauce was a bit too salty and the pastrami had a weird taste to it.

This is what I would call a vintage pizzeria. The dining room is not fancy, but it is clean and retro. Lunch special is 11am-3pm. (Pizza or spaghetti and meat sauce, with all u can eat salad bar). We chose pizzas option. We could see the prep/kitchen from our table. The crust is thin/medium but crispy. The pizzas, each had adequate toppings. Flavors were good. The salad bar had fresh veggies including Romaine. Also potato salad, pickled beets, macaroni salad, along with additional veggies, peaches, bacon bits and croutons. Catalina, Ranch, Bleu cheese, Italian, 1k island for dressings. We enjoyed our meal very much and plan to return. Note: order at pay at counter. Seat yourself. Self serve salad bar at lunch with hand sanitizer provided.

It was okay but pricey and small portion for it to be a large. The service was friendly. The ambiance was empty, quiet and hot.

There was a bug in our pizza, the pizza was gross, the wings are tiny and the staff are rude. Not sure how they stay open for business.

For those of us in Phoenix, we'll have to make the trip to Yuma, but it's worth making the drive for a day trip or doing an overnighter. I had the lasagna...an item that was taken off the menu but recommended by the owner (Mario) since they made some that day. It's gone now, and I savored every bite--sorry about that. Besides, a pic wouldn't do justice to the rich layers of piping hot, tender pasta sheets, slathered in hearty meat sauce and creamy béchamel and ricotta. If this is Italian comfort food, I'm all in with the way Mario's crew put this master piece on a plate. This also goes for the caprese, Cacio e pepe, margherita romana, along with the deserts like the tiramisu' de treviso, cherry cannoli siciliani, and even the bread basket is over the top. Again, apologies for the lack of photos, I will say that the visual appeal of each dish matched the flavors, so the food vanished before the thought of a photo op crossed my mind, and I savored every bite--errr, sorry about again. But if I had to make a statement describing the whole dining experience: "the gods smiled". To summarize: -Imported ingredients from Italy -Fresh vegetables -Mellow atmosphere -Service and dialog with Mario -Outstanding food Highly recommended! I'll take pictures and post them next time we dine here.

The warm atmosphere inside can't be beat, friendly staff immediately greet you amongst wine filled walls and Italian treats all around. Located inside the Quarter Master Depot (Colorado River State Historic Park) you get to dine in a historic building that has been beautifully redone to feature this Italian venue. Mario's clear goal is to bring the authentic flavors of his home to you, here in Yuma. My mom and I shared the veggie salad, caprese antipasti (comes with delicious bread) , and a slice each from the slice menu. The textures and portions were just right (no watery or oversalted dishes here!) There's a great selection of Italian wines, and they even do wine tasting events! I'll be back sooner than later.
