Competing with Denny's, VI has a similar menu: all day breakfast, burgers and sandwiches, salads, and full comfort food meals. Breakfast here over two mornings with a group of 5-8 saw good service and filling, enjoyable meals. We were on lunch break from Christmas shopping and my daughter was curious about trying Village Inn. It's a locally owned diner that serves breakfast all day. That's wonderful and exactly what we wanted. My daughter ordered the Ultimate skillet with pancakes on the side and I ordered from the VIB portion of the breakfast menu. You customize 4 items from 4 different lists in that section of the menu. My strawberry crepe was pretty and delicious. My daughter enjoyed her potatoes and bacon the most with her order. Just so you know, if you're a hot sauce person like myself, they don't have Louisiana hot sauce but they do have Cholula hot sauce. We noticed the ad for free pie Wednesday so we'll be back then. read more

Normally don't like chain places for breakfast especially when on vacation with so many local options. Service was great especially since we had a bigger table. I had the new country fried steak burrito with eggs, cheese and covered in gravy. It was good but very bland which is why I don't like chains. Hot sauce put it over the top for a solid burrito. read more

I was SO disappointed in their pie. We had gone to our Ozark location before and the pie was great so for our guests arriving yesterday; we purchased a banana cream pie. See all that brown slime? Yep, it's the bananas, just gross. I was so thankful we picked up a cake at Sam's Club. It saved the day. read more

Lunch visit, seated right away. Server did not introduce himself eventually came by to take drink order, seemed surprised when I wanted to order my meal at the same time. Ordered a club sandwich with fries, drink arrived barely before the sandwich. Not a fan of how the fries are dumped on the sandwich, they are not drained well so the sandwich is oily on top. Toast was overcooked and crumbled apart slightly but Everything still tasted good. Was not offered drink refill or dessert and table was not bussed. Staff at the desk behind me were laughing and talking loudly, kinda inappropriate conversations as well. Their serving are big. Costs more than other breakfast restaurants. ambiance is ok though.

My favorite for breakfast and lunch. The bacon Spinach omelet is my go to with grits. We never go there without pie for dessert either. Has been our favorite for years. read more

Village Inn on 65 in Ozark is terrible. The hostess was rude on 3 different visits, and won't let you sit where other people are sitting, she told us "these are our special regulars". I couldn't believe it, I gave them a chance, but I can't enjoy eating a restaurant after being mistreated by the hostess. The food is passable, typical cafeteria style. Just moved to this area from Chicago and trying out some of the local restaurants. Decided to treat ourselves to breakfast today and was pleasantly surprised. Waitress was extremely polite and took our order immediately upon sitting down. Ordered Eggs and corned beef hash, it took awhile to get the food, but we weren't in a hurry. When it came, the potatoes were cold, they immediately replaced it with hot potatoes and offered free pie because of the inconvenience of a little wait and the problem with the potatoes. The manager packaged up our free pie and was also extremely polite. The food was good, but the customer service was even better. Made you feel welcome! read more

Great breakfast items served all day. Met a friend for breakfast and had the Grande skillet - eggs and carnitas on fried potatoes. Had sour cream, cheese and jalapeños. Plus it came with pancakes. Endless coffee and they leave the carafe on the table so you don't have to wait on refills. A great place. read more

Went to Village Inn tonight before church, for the first time in a year. We were seated quickly as we were only the second table. Service was OK. Our food arrived quickly. I had to send my biscuits and gravy back twice because they were cold the third time they were served they were still cold. My mom was eating her biscuits and gravy when she found plastic in her gravy. Chunks of hard plastic, and pieces of what looked like a plastic bag. When the manager was notified she came over and very nonchalantly said "Oh I won't charge you for that". The whole thing was just awful! We will not go back. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from. read more

What to say about Village Inn? Well, first off, don't go here for the coffee. It's bad. Like, rivals IHOP bad. Which is really unfortunate because they leave a carafe on the table. Same with the orange Juice, and that one is kind of hit and miss. Sometimes it's great, sometimes the concentration is off. But that's really the only negative thing I have to say about the place. The servers are always friendly but I don't think I've seen the same one twice. The food is always good. I'm really into their VIB plates because they'll mix and match anything listed. Anything. I love it! The food is always out in good time too and happily each time I've gone I haven't had to wait for a seat. As far as affordable eats go, if they could just get their coffee in order, this would be a 5 star location. read more

My wife and I had the stuffed chicken breasts with potato pancakes, mashed potatoes, and tomato-basil soup. First the soup-it was wonderful. It was hot, had texture, and perfectly seasoned. My wife enjoyed the mashed potatoes as I also enjoyed the potato pancakes. The chicken was good if a little dry. A dipping sauce of mustard and mayonnaise would have made the chicken better. All-in-all, a fair meal for a good price. What reduces the stars is the service. We were ignored for a time while regulars were attended to. Once we were acknowledged for our beverage order, the waitress took my wife's request for coffee and ignored me. When she eventually returned she brought two cups of coffee- fortunately I was in the mood for coffee. The Village Inn brags about its pies, and having been here before we were looking forward to dessert. But without asking, the waitress plopped down our bill before we were done with our meal. We decided we had stuff at home for dessert, so we skipped the pie. Note to management: if you want to stay in business, or at least increase your sales, you need to pay attention to your customers. This restaurant lost an up-charge because of sloppy service. And while your at it, don't allow your service staff to argue over tables and tips on the floor. For various reasons we will likely return to this restaurant, but i certainly hope they improve their game before then... read more

Stopped by for the first time on our way to the airport on 09/01/2020. The wait staff was great and the food was excellent. It was a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Thank you to those that made us outsiders feel at home. BTW, we love the Springfield area and have visited it many times in the past ten years. Great diner for fast food. It's clean, neat the staff is friendly and the food was very good. I had the soup of the day, beef vegetable, it was very hearty and satisfying. The coffee was fresh and very good. My husband ordered the Southwest Salad and Tomato Basil soup and he was very pleased with both. A really nice place. The food is always good, and gets to your table pretty quickly. David will seat you in a comfortable booth, and either Honesty, Jessica, or Summer makes ordering a snap. Great food, fast service, friendly staff. All you can eat Friday fish is great! Sunday breakfast can be a wait if churches just let out.

I came to the Village Inn with a friend from work. The restrooms were very clean and so was my booth/table. We waited about 6 minutes before the waiter came and introduced himself. He was very pleasant. The seating was comfortable and the lighting was nice not too bright. The soda was good as I have been to some places and the soda tasted off. I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with macaroni and cheese. Most of the meal was excellent but the macaroni and cheese was very dry. The waiter stayed attentive throughout the whole meal and overall it was a pleasant dining experience. I enjoyed it! read more

I came here by myself as I was staying at the Holiday Inn nearby. Angel, the assistant manager seated me. After 15 minutes and nobody came to wait on me, I told Angel nobody had waited on me. He waited on me himself! Very nice! read more

The manager and host was very inattentive and took about ten minutes to seat me. The waitress and kitchen were very quick and food was as expected. Not overly great or terrible, but good comfort food. Village Inn is one of the best places for breakfast any time of the day. All the ingredients taste fresh. Their pies are perfect. They do try to be innovative with their menu. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If you stick with the stand-bys whether it is breakfast or their other items you can't go wrong. A few items to mention are their skillets, their biscuits and gravy, their sandwiches, and of course their key lime pie. read more

I am not a big breakfast food fan, myself, but I can still find something good to eat at Village Inn. I prefer Denny's, which is no longer in Springfield, and I really do not like IHOP so this place is a good compromise when my husband wants to dine out breakfast style. I have yet to try their pie but I hear it is delicious. I tend to go for their combos and order some weird combination like veggies, burger patty, and a strawberry crepe (which by the way is so very yummy...and the reason I have not tried Village Inn pie). This location is clean and up to date, and I've never had a particularly notable service experience which to me is much better than having one bad server! read more

Village Inn is always a solid, dependable breakfast choice. Sometimes there's a wait at the normal busy times, but the service is usually pretty quick and the staff is nice. The omelets are my favorite. Prices are average- two people eat for are $20. read more

We are long-time fans of Village Inn (nearly 20 years now, I'm realizing as I write this), and this particular location goes well above and beyond the usual standard of cleanliness, fresh ingredients and successful turnaround on our order, which normally includes special requests/modifications nearly every visit. They're always accommodating and friendly without batting an eyelash when we want to customize or make substitutions so that we get exactly what we want without exception. From the breakfast skillets to their Cobb salad, sandwiches and home style dinners, the selection is sometimes overwhelming.
