We ate dinner at the HyVee Market Grille when our power went out during a storm last Sunday. The food selection was fair and we chose different things but it ended up all tasting the same. Kinda disappointing. The servers were so heavily facially pierced that it was difficult to understand what they were saying? At least the eating booths were wired for phone battery hook ups. That was nice and deserves mention. However, the trash receptacles were overflowing and the booths weren't the cleanest either. So, I can only rate our experience here as one star. read more

Nice place that is inside of our favorite grocery store. I give them a 4 because we eat here about four times a year and there have been times they have been out of menu items. They're inside a grocery store. Why would they ever not have key ingredients to be able to complete a dish? Sushi is pretty good and made in house. The shrimp tacos in this photo were flavorful and filling. Salsa is just okay though. They have a brunch buffet on Sunday that is above average for a buffet. I'm not a fan of buffets personally but I've had worse than this one. Prices are a little on the high side in my opinion. But overall a good place if you want a bite before shopping. read more

Very pleased. I'm an avid HyVee shopper, yet never ate here, until recently. Had the Shrimp & Scallops on orzo. The scallops were fairly large, and cooked perfectly. Shrimp were a bit small, however very tasty. I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. It was also priced reasonably. Would have been $10 at least to purchase the ingredients. A nice casual place to stop in and have a bite. read more

Exceed all my expectations!! Who would of thought a restaurant in a supermarket would have nice food and atmosphere. Great promotion on almost everyday! Happy hour drink deals are hard to beat! Came in on Wednesday for buy one get one sushi free!!! Love the complementary flake rolls, they were yummy!!! Good quality burger but higher price compared to burger joint. Yes, HyVee. If you've never stopped into the Market Grille, do it. Hiding behind the deli, this is a sneaky little gem that will surprise you. I have never been disappointed here. I've never tried their breakfast or brunch buffets, but for a sit down meal, I've always been happy. There are a million options on the menu (obviously...they have a store of ingredients at their fingertips) and a really polite wait staff. You get a basket with flaky honey butter rolls before your meal, which makes any place a winner with me. Pro tip: watch the specials. This could be part of my secret love for the Market Grille. Saturdays are half price draft beers and apps all day. We have ordered a table full of apps, a couple drinks each, and gotten out of there for under $30 with leftovers. It might be Thursdays when they have half price burgers? I got the one with bacon, maple syrup and candied jalapenos one time and it was delicious. Quesadilla:delicious. Crab Rangoon wontons:delicious. Pizza rolls, salmon, scallops, mac and cheese:all delicious. Plus there is a full bar and TVs if you need a place to hang out while your partner is grocery shopping! read more

Really do not understand the five star reviews. It really isn't much more than a casual cafe. My salad was average. It was only the size of a dinner salad. While the veggies were nice and fresh the shrimp was old, dry and like rubber. They had no flavor at all. It was a little expensive for what it was. I won't eat there again. There are way to many great places to have lunch way better for the same money. I must say, however, the service was wonderful. Which is the only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2. read more

So the prices are a little high, however the food is always delicious. I've been here a few times (checking in under HYVEE) and I keep coming back. It's clean, quiet, the food is always tasty, and frankly it's fun to stop in for a drink at a place where you can actually hear the person next to you. I really like it! read more

They give you a buzzer and you go get your food" You go around the corner and the register is closed and the lady with rbf stares at you not interested in serving you. Where do you order? Who knows? I loved it! Not only was this my first visit to HyVee itself, but I was amazed by everything there was to offer! The restaurant gave a very cozy vibe. I went in on a Sunday night and didn't have to wait on a booth. The service was amazing from host to waitress to manager on staff. The food? OMG I couldn't even eat it all! The menu was hard to choose from because I wanted everything. And surprisingly, it didn't even break the wallet. So it was a great visit. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal and drinks during the Sunday brunch. The service was very good and personable. The bloody Mary bar was exceptional. And the brunch bar was more than we expected. Along with the basics breakfast items there was very delicious prime rib cut to preference along with lasagna and much more. Wanted to try the brunch and was disappointed. The bacon was horrible not cooked and the girl making omelette was very nice but did not know how to make one accurately. The service was horrible and we barely saw our server even though it was empty. The food choices were ok, but it was the same as you can get to go just in a buffet style. I think you are better off for the grand buffet for $12 which comes with the drink. I will definitely continue to shop there but pass on brunch. read more

My first time ordering here. I ordered online for a delivery of a Reuben with a side of white mac and cheese and cheesecake. The order was to arrive 750pm to 810pm. I did not receive my order until 830-840pm and only after calling the market. The sandwich was cold, the meat in it dry and chewy. The mac and cheese barely warm and the cheese tasted fake. (the only way I can think to describe it). The cheesecake had slid sideways and was a jumbled mess in it's container. The whipping cream on it was runny and also tasted fake. Okay, so this is better than you are expecting. Yeah, it's grocery store food, but not really. Everything is fresh, everything is hot, everything is good! They are obviously not equivalent to a sit down restaurant, however, they're not trying to be, at least not in aesthetics. This is a hidden gem as it is tucked in the corner of the Hyvee grocery store. I was skeptical when my husband suggested dinner here. I am so glad we came. The food is very good and there is a large variety. We had burgers and Chinese food. There is also sushi, breakfast, and pizzas. For an appetizer we had the chips and our choice of three dips. The salsas are fresh and delicious. We also ordered chicken quesadillas and they were good as well. Daily specials help keep it a good value. It is not busy and there are tvs everywhere so that you won't miss a game. We have become regulars. I also noticed that one night they had trivia if that is your thing. read more

Tried the Sunday brunch and it was awful. Many of the items appeared to have been there for quite some time. The chicken was chewy, the French toast was so hard I could not even cut it, and the donuts the kids had we're extremely stale. I do not recommend it to anyone. I don't really understand the 5 star reviews here either. It's a very basic imitation of an Applebee's. We got the Monte Cristo sandwich and the seared tuna salad. Neither were very good and seemed too pricey for the portion. Even though it's convenient the food was just so average, I don't have a reason to go back. We avid HyVee shoppers and were super excited when they opened the new Market Grill. We've been 3 times though and have been disappointed each time. First time was the soft opening and expectations weren't too high, second time it was just my husband and I and we were in no hurry and neither were they. The third time, this last Saturday morning drew the line. There were 4 tables at 9 am, we ordered the specials which were basically eggs and bacon and French toast for the kids and it took 25 plus minutes to get our food which included undercooked eggs, unbuttered toast and sausage the size of a quarter. Top it off the service was TERRIBLE with a waitress who was more concerned about cleaning than anything else. I miss the old Hyvee breakfast where you ordered at the counter and paid half the price got way better food. Really bummed. read more
