Before you read my review, look at my pictures. They tell most of this story. When my 80 year old mother was burglarized and we had to replace all of the locks in the house, we did not expect that our experience with the locksmith would be more nightmarish than the break in. This company is woefully mismanaged by Emmanuel, an extremely volatile owner and his thuggish employees. We have been shaken down and bullied to pay for botched and incomplete work twice with every possible tactic. I have exchanged 312 messages with the man, most of them threatening rants, lies about our contract and insistence that he was "coming over now" with his guys to uninstall every lock in the house. It took a month for them to come. Emmanuel left a young kid unsupervised after several hours. He readjusted the closets by wildly drilling chewed out holes into every strike plate in every closet in the house instead of moving them. After days of negotiation, Emmanuel came back with another locksmith to fix the botched work. He set to work replacing everything, shaking his head at the kid's incompetence the entire time. Several hours in, Emmanuel realized that he had brought the wrong extension kit for the outer door lock a second time and insisted we pay $300 for a different lock since he couldn't figure it out. I pointed out that he had just miscalculated the threading and just needed a 75 cent bolt. He flew off the handle and ranted for 12 minutes straight about how he wasn't paid to hunt for bolts as my elderly mother begged him to stop, all of which I recorded. We insisted that he leave and not come back. Once Emmanuel was gone, his locksmith rushed the remaining work. He broke the marble entryway in half and tried to hide it with a lazy patch job. He reinstalled the Yale lock the kid had botched but the bolt no longer aligned so he drilled wildly into the plate just as the kid had done with the closets and left the sensor raggedly hanging out. At 4:00, he told me he had another job and would "finish it later" but insisted on being paid first. I told him that we would pay him when he finished the remaining work and properly patched the marble entryway he had broken in half. Emmanuel sent threatening messages for the next 45 minutes. The locksmith who had left "for another job" hung around a tree outside and called the police to shake us down to pay for his unfinished work. The police came and left, dismissing it as nonsense, but the entire incident stressed my mother to no end. They still have not finished and have agreed to deduct $1,000 from our bill for the incompetent work and permanent damage to our marble entryway. This does not change the fact that we were indescribably stressed for over a month and a half from start to finish, still aren't sure anything was installed correctly and will have to hire another locksmith. My mother is also very afraid that Emmanuel, a man with such thuggish intimidation tactics and unrestrained anger issues, now has access to our locks and knows where we live. She begged me not to post this but I think it's our obligation to other customers he might terrorize. read more

Bob at Village Lock and Key just got our 2018 Camry back on the road after we lost ALL the keys. I would not have believed how much better Bob was than the Toyota Dealerships! Here is my experience: - Greentree Toyota in Danbury: has a "key guy" who visits only on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:00, and nobody at the dealership can help with keys. - Rivera Toyota in My Kisco: I would have to get the car towed to Mt Kisco, then they have to wipe the car's computer clean, then send to Toyota Central for two new keys. Total cost over $1,100. - Bob at Village Lock and Key: drove to my house and in 15 minutes I had 3 new working keys, at a small fraction of the cost from Rivera in My Kisco; and no towing. Google have them inaccurately marked as "permanently closed" but I had been here before so took the time to call and confirm before having to find somewhere else I trusted.
