These guys tried to cheat me. I went to make copies of a somewhat unusual key. I had done it a year or so ago and they charged me $20 a copy. This time, the guy wanted $45. When I complained about the cost he said 'I'll have to make a map, it will take me an hour at least'. Not sure what that meant. Kenny, who has been working with locks since he was 17, was friendly, professional, and courteous. He was willing to work with the lock I had purchased. He spent over an hour fixing what I had broken (while being kind to me about my lack of skill), tightening the door in its frame, replacing the strike plate, aligning the cylinder, and properly aligning the new lock. These people should be OUT OF BUSINESS! I've never dealt with such unprofessional, rude, shameless, and downright terrible service. I was better off before they worked on my door--they completely ruined my lock and door! And now I have to use the door everyday and be reminded of this terrible mess on a daily basis. So infuriating! First, the guy on the phone was a jerk and he sent over a bigger jerk over to do the job. I wanted them to add an additional lock on my door and they managed to install it crooked in a way that the door doesn't close properly. On top of that, to cover their failure and make the door close at all, they decided to go ahead and mutilated the old, existing lock that was working properly instead of fixing up their blunder. Now when it closes I can squeeze half of my finger in the gap. Do you believe this?? Every other week I have neighbors knocking on my door, telling me I didn't close my door properly because they don't know the door is obscenely messed up. Give anyone a metal cutter and they can do a better job than this! ANYONE!! I can't explain how aggressively rude (fighting rude) that worker was--that I was ready to just have him out of my apartment and be done with them. Absolutely no integrity in their work. Called this place for a lockout on the same block as this place. The man whom I spoke to on the phone came within 45 minutes of me getting locked out, which was pretty good for a Saturday night, and was able to unlock the door in a total of 3 seconds, which was fantastic. But he charged me exorbitantly for something that took no more effort than swiping a credit card through an ATM. I get that time is valuable, but it almost would have been cheaper to get a hotel and wait the next day for my landlord to return to NYC and let me in.
