Slow slow slow! Had an appointment had to wait 55 min for blood draw. Keep in mind this is at 7 :30 am before they have time to fall behind and I had an appt. When I asked about the wait they just said we're really busy. Then they came in waiting room did a cattle call of 5 of us and then took us to another waiting room where I sat another 7 min wait. I have been going to the Village Medical at 55th ave. and Thunderbird in Glendale, Arizona for a year and a half. I constantly have to request they refill my medications time and time again. The staff refuses to acknowledge my concerns, and will only fill my prescriptions if I hound them. At this point I have contacted the prescription escalation line, he did not seem to care what-so-ever. I have requested the contact information for the office manager to submit a complaint about how the office is run. If this continues after that I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Arizona Medical Board. This is NOT how you treat your patients. I have been very disappointed with the billing department at this practice. They have been extremely difficult to work with and unwilling to help resolve a straightforward issue. Despite multiple attempts to get clarification and assistance, I was met with unhelpful and unreasonable responses. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service from the billing staff has completely tarnished my experience with this office. My wife and I have gone to Village Clinic (Katy, TX) for years and primarily to a different M.D. than we have now. We like Dr. Nareen but apparently there are issues with him writing certain Rx's. Typically, when I require a refill of Zolpidem, the PA who works with Dr. Nareen will write the Rx. The problem is that the PA's are constantly leaving so that we don't know who to call. In fact, when we do call, we rarely get a call back. I don't mind coming in everytime there is a new PA but I NEED TO KNOW. It seems that there is no real sense of urgency to call me back or to call back my wife, either. I have recently left messages, again and this time I have included the new practice manager. I got this email address from a not so complementary review off Yelp. I looked up the ticker for WBA and it does look a little scary. I originally went to the Village Medical on 19th Ave & Northern. The providers were awesome, but the office closed without notice, and I was sent to a new provider at the Village Medical on 19th Ave & Union Hills. Now that office is closed and trying to schedule an appointment via the portal is practically impossible. It shows that my new current provider is unavailable into June 2025. I emailed via the portal, but the people who respond to the emails do not seem to understand that the appointment scheduling portion of the portal isn't working or they don't care. I am frustrated with the constant moving of offices/providers and the non-working portal, so I am going somewhere else. read more

I suggest that when an appointment is made they emphasize Building F1, Talking with two other patients, they had the same problem .You can't call to ask for directions as a person in another country answers and they gave number of the hospital across the street. I decided to try Village Medical approximately 18 months ago. The providers I have seen are AWESOME. They were kind, genuinely concerned, patient, and listened. The 1 star rating is the result of the management, billing, and general business practices of the company. I encourage everyone to read the other reviews and take them to heart. This company's only goal is trying to figure out how they can charge patients more money. I have a very close personal friend that is employed by Village Medical. He is constantly telling me that all expectations are related to how many patients he can see and making sure he "codes" items correctly so the company can get paid. There is absolutely NO emphasis on the human interaction and quality of care. In addition, he has been told he will no longer receive the 401K matching that he was promised when he took the job. (I told him when they made that announcement last year that they were in financial trouble and he should start looking for another job.) Village Medical is a large company that is majority owned by Walgreens Boot Alliance (WBA) which is a publicly traded company. WBA stock has tanked and now they are scrambling to appease share holders. (Thankfully I don't own WBA. The last time their stock price was this low was 1998.) As a result of their poor performance, WBA has begun divesting some of their Village Medical offices in an effort to cut their losses. They are also applying pressure to Village Medical to increase revenue. As a result, patients and their issues are merely dollars to them. When Village Medical responds to this review they will say the same thing they have said every other review. "Thank you for your review. Primary Care Dr Jenny Ho The staff is very friendly, they have a lab in the office. My family have been going to Dr Ho for several years at different locations and have not been disappointed at the location. I am not rushed when I am seen and feel the Doctor has my interest. TRASH.... Cannot call the office directly. I've been trying to get a RX script fixed as they wrote it for 14 days when it is ongoing care so I have to pay more, and more frequently... I try to use the website to communicate via messages, but they say the sent over a corrected script and every time I try to confirm with the pharmacy they never received one, and good luck getting phone support. Hold times are stupid, when you get someone they cannot help you and offer to send a message to the office... and if you get escalated to someone that is supposed to be able to help you, after 10+ minutes the escalation person HANGS UP ON YOU. Me, my family, and all my friends that seek care here will be finding care elsewhere where you are a person... a patient... not just profit. read more

Beware! I have been going for about 25 years now and went to my Physical 09/02/22. This last year very disappointing and will probably search for a new Doctor. Dr. Karen Wetherell was the best but now has left into management. I was charged $292.00. My Insurance Paid $95.15. I paid my $25.00 Co-pay. My savings for having Insurance is $176.93. Their billing is trying to go after me for the savings amount of $176.93. Terrible billing service. They won't listen and you speak to people in India. They have expanded but what a mess they have become. Too Big for their britches now. At first appointment I was very pleased and given several referrals from specialist which never resulted in any concerns from my primary care doctor. This place has gone through several ownership changes over the last several years. Each time, quality and service has dipped a few notches lower. Some of the doctors were being pressured to see more patience than they felt comfortable with. My mother's doctor ended up quitting for this reason. I still love my doctor, but the act of making an appointment and going here has become a true shit show, many times talking to someone in Houston without even knowing it. Back in the Thunderbird Internal Medicine days, things were definitely much better. You were able to directly contact the doctor's assistant for often easily resolution to minor items. Recent experience: I was sick for over a week with a high fever. Mostly between 101° and 102°. It went up a bit higher, so I decided to call to schedule an appointment with my doctor. I told them that I had a 103.7° fever on 12/16/21, the previous day. The guy on the phone checked and said he has an appointment available on 1/15/22. I was a bit shocked and told him that I could be dead by then. Eventually, he pushed the nurse practitioner idea, but at that point, I lost pretty much all my remaining confidence in this place. Doctor Bruce Herman submitted a claim to my insurance for a visit that never took place in 2020. In 2021 I spoke with the office manager at that time, she confirmed that the visit did not take place and told me she would fix the accidental billing issue. In 2024, 4 years later I received another bill with threats of sending my account to collections. I left numerous messages for the manager and never received so much as a courtesy call back. Since then, a new manager by the name of Dariel took over. I was hoping the new manager would be more professional, but no luck. At this point I'm filing a complaint against the practice. read more

They have rescheduled my appointments four times just within the last 4 months,and twice last year. The 24 years I was with them, Paseo family physicians ,I never got rescheduled! This is a corporate medical practice, and it really shows. I have never felt more like my provider sees me as a number w a wallet before going to this practice. I don't feel safe putting my health in their hands, because they don't want to help people--they just want to milk patients and their insurance for as much money as possible. They submitted my insurance claim incorrectly 2 months ago, and I am still trying to get them to correct it. Their company is structured in a way, that correcting claims mistakes feels like a losing battle. I recently moved northwest of Tucson west to Oro Valley and Village Medical was recommended. I felt lucky to be able to get a new patient appointment very quickly. Expectations went south from there. The doctor who saw me was more interested in talking about old sports heroes than me. I told him I needed colonoscopy in a year, but was contacted to schedule the next week. Guess he did not listen well. I had some blood work done and did not hear from them for two weeks afterward. Having missed the call, I called back but the call goes to a national number. I told the respondent I was returning a call and was told the office would call back within THREE days. Huh? I always try to be friendly and upbeat with medical office staff. Did not work at that office. Response verged on outright rudeness. Might reflect their working conditions. One has to balance appointment availability ( even Saturday) with poor patient relations and maybe less than attentive doctor. read more

I'd been at this location for nearly 20 years but since VM has taken over it's been awful. Doctors are great if you can stand the frat-like hazing you have to go through to get to them. The call center that asks irrelevant questions when trying to schedule, if you can understand them over the very strong accents and insane background noise - who wants to share all of their details over the phone with someone who is obviously NOT in a doctor's office? This organization has proven to be inept, inexperienced, unorganized, unfeeling, callous, unprofessional and disrespectful toward their patients, especially disabled senior citizens. When MAs and supervisors feel intimidated when questioned by patients, they retaliate by attacking and blaming them. They don't request your medical records from your previous providers. When asked why, they said they only need the past year. I was with my doctor for 10 years and I have extensive health issues and history. They should have requested that information like other doctors offices do. Not just the previous year, that's ridiculous! They know nothing about me so how can they care for me? They don't have any labs and medical phlebotomist's in their offices. If you are a new patient and have scar tissue from multiple hospitalization's and procedures that caused you to be labeled a "hard stick" you're out of luck at Village Medical. Because only MAs do blood draws and they will tell you they are not trained to professionally draw blood. You will need to go to an actual professional company like Labcor to have your blood drawn. What happened to going to the doctor and in the same office going to the lab and having your labs drawn by an actual trained phlebotomist? We shouldn't have to make an additional appointment and go out of our way going to another location just for a blood draw. I'm a disabled senior citizen. Dial a Ride is my only form of transportation. I have to schedule my rides a day in advance and I have to tell them when I want to be picked up and dropped off. So I can't just change the time on the day of. That's an unnecessary inconvenience they put on me. I also have to pay a fee each way each day. I received a voicemail from a doctor who I had never heard of and was never seen by informing me of a negative colon test that had just come in that she said was just ordered for me. She was happy to inform me that my test results were negative this year and she would have her assistant send me the results to my portal. The problem was, I didn't do any recent testing. That test was not recently ordered by her, but by my previous doctor over 5 years ago! Because she didn't bother to read the report with another doctors name and information on it before she called me. It was apparent her office made a mistake but she also erred when she didn't verify the information herself. I didn't feel confident about them already but when this happened, I lost all confidence in them. If their doctors are missing minuscule details like this, how can I possibly feel confident about putting my life in their hands? What else will they miss? Her assistant called me a few minutes later and left me a similar voicemail letting me know the great news regarding my recent negative test results. She sent me a followup message in the portal. So, I took a picture of the five year old report from my doctor and attached it to my reply. I informed the doctors assistant that I contacted the doctor back and let her know the report is not a recent report but a previous five year old report from my doctor from 2018 and not from 2023 as she told me in her voicemail she left me. After providing her assistant with this proof in the portal she replied back to me saying, she was sorry I wasn't happy to receive my test results. It was the strangest response I expected. She was caught and didn't know how to respond so she did what they normally do, attack the patient. The doctor never did return my call or apologize for her mistake. She had another woman call me and attempt to double talk me. It didn't work. Afterwards I realized what others on here do, they are less than honest individuals. I was only with this clinic for a blink of an eye, the shortest time I have ever been with a medical provider. I knew in that short amount of time something was very wrong and I wasn't going to stay. The reviews on here are difficult to comprehend yet, they are accurate. The company's cold general form bot responses lack sincerity and serious consideration for any intent of true patient conflict resolution. Instead of leaving these types of public displays of false niceties, begin by nurturing these one stars into five stars by doing right by your patients. read more

We love our doctor and have stuck with him through multiple corporate transitions. However, we are nearing our breaking point with Village Medical. Although my doctor and office staff are still great, using the call center for everything makes the entire process terrible. For example, I was notified that I needed to reschedule an appointment. I called back and the Call Center advised that lab appointments need to be rescheduled by the office directly. They would send a message to them and someone would call me back. Why couldn't they just include that in the reschedule message? And multiple times my wife has had telehealth appointments that have been ignored because the Providers didn't call. We are both so frustrated by Village Medical. I wish I could convince my doctor to change practices as I would follow him anywhere without hesitation. They have some great doctors. I'm having a bad bronchitis attack in my lungs, I was sent to ARA to get a chest x-ray, I may have pneumonia. Ever since I got covid in 2020, I've gotten bronchitis a lot more and for the first time I got pneumonia. I'm very sick. my chest x-ray was over a week ago. and they still haven't called me back to review the x-ray outcome. ARA, the imaging center said it was sent a week ago. They said they'd call in more antibiotics and prednisone to help me, that's been over 10 days now, still nothing. You call them and you don't get the location where you go to see the doctor, you get a call center. Sometimes they say they can't connect you to that office, where you've been going. My insurance plan changed after the first of the year. I now have zero co-pay for my primary doctor. They're still trying to charge me $25.00. before when I was sick my primary doctor would call me or have a nurse call me about 4 days later, just to check on me to see if I was getting better. These people truly don't care about your health. I hope I find where my Dr. Burugu went. she called me after she left village medical and said she'd let me know where she's going. please call me Dr. Burugu. You were a great primary doctor. I hope these people and all of the village medical centers close up. Wow this place is terrible! So first off my appointment which was booked out months in advance had to be cancelled twice. On the 3rd time they called to cancel again and I said no way you have to find me an appointment today. So they find one and get me in. They have had my medical insurance on file now for 5 months and ask on the phone if any of that has changed and I say no. So I take off work to go to my appointment and they tell me up front they don't accept my medical insurance and just stopped 2 months ago. So it would have been covered if they had kept the original appointment but now I am back to square one. They were extremely rude too. I would avoid at all costs! read more
