This office, like the rest of the reviews say, is an absolute joke. DO NOT COME HERE. I had an appointment today, virtual, at 1:20pm. So like everyone else, I carve my daily schedule to accommodate this. 30 mins prior to my appointment, I click the link they sent me for early check-in. The link says that my appointment time has already passed, but this was 30 mins before the appoinement. So I call and their answering service, which is not the actual medical office, tries to reach them but they wont answer. The phone rep tries a second time, still no answer. She assures me that I will receive a new link for the appointment. So I patiently wait and once 1:20pm comes around, I call back. This time a helpful gentleman does the same and tries to reach the office and receives no answer. He tries again, and no answer. At this point, it's around 1:35pm for my 1:20pm appointment. He tries a third and final time, so at this point, it is after 1:40 and I am now speaking to Shawnda at the actual medical office. She is rude and confrontational explaining nobody is gonna answer before 1pm because thats lunch and that she just works there so its not her fault, she doesnt take responsibility for everything that happens down there. During this time, I had began to drive down to the office because if they wont answer the phone, I will just see them in person for an appointment. All this for a referral to a dermatologist... I live fairly close so I get there and tell the front desk I am here for my 1:20pm and the employee is the same Shawnda from the phone, to which she rudely says "I already sent you your link". Yes Shawnda, the same link I am connected to, still with no appointment. I frustratingly explain this is unacceptable and that people make time for this not to be left waiting for half an hour without even being told to wait. Then, the virtual appointment connected and I explained to the person who answered immediately that Shawnda is very rude, one of the rudest employees ive ever encountered at any office. Shawnda is loud and yelling from behind the desk, saying "I dont give a f*ck!" to which I gave her the bird and walked out. Now I am on the call with the NP and explain the situation, that this is very unacceptable, and that I just need a referral for a dermatologist for this lump on my face and pointed to the lump. Instead of helping, this person said they needed to put me on hold, when I asked why, they just put me on hold without a word and I waited until almost an hour after my appointment time to be seen. When I was finally seen, it was a pleasant interaction with Sharon, who took care of the referral and apologized for the inconvenience. If this business was comprised of employees like Sharon, it would have 5 stars, but unfortunately, they have employees like Shawnda who have made it so I will never return to the office I have been going to for over 15 years. read more

They billed me twice for the same visit. I paid $110 out of pocket onsite for a checkup. I was with the Dr for about 20 minutes. The next day I received a second bill of $95 for the same visit. They claimed that I discussed something other than a "checkup" topic with my Dr. So now they get to bill by the topic, not the time? That is completely unethical business practices. I demanded they rescind the charge, but they refused. I won't stand for this. VM is fired as my primary provider. And I hope everyone badmouths this slimy operation. read more

While my physician, Dr. Jay Swanson seems like a good doctor and person thus far, the support staff at Village Medical is absolutely horrible! The first problem is having to speak with a third party from outside the US regarding anything. They do not provide a direct number for the office for their patients. Instead, you are forced to speak with someone from Malaysia who barely speaks pigeon English. When you have waited almost 10 minutes to hopefully get to someone at your location, they are snide and rude. They do not care about the patients concerns and are extremely disrespectful and do not care to listen to the patient. Their "social worker" should be ashamed of herself as she is extremely unprofessional and lacks the ability to tell the truth or follow through on what she promises. Although I am getting to know my new doctor, I cannot in good conscience remain a patient with Village Medical - they are by far the WORST medical conglomerate I have ever dealt with! read more

My husband Leonard Bratspir was a critical care patient. We went to seek care on Saturday, November 11th. Dr Walker issued some prescriptions and recommended a chest x-ray she heard wheezing. We had to wait till Monday for the X-rays. Well that Monday my husband didn't feel well at all.. he put our little dog out and when I went to check on my husband he was slumped over a chair dead. I am devasted. My husband was going to turn 82 on November 15th. Why didn't the Dr. send my husband to a hospital so he would've received the quality care he needed. If you're into doctor's offices who are more concerned about making money than the welfare of their patients than this is the place for you. I've been a patient of Hatfield (now Village Medical) since 2019. I'm in my 30s with no health concerns. I've been to this doctor solely for my annual to keep up with routine pap smears and to get my birth control pill prescription refilled. This doctor's office will not give you enough refills for a full year of birth control. They will say it's "policy" and push you to make an appointment to come in and get it refilled, even if you've seen them within the year. I would imagine they do this with all their prescriptions, even if you've been taking them regularly for years. Their ploy so you can shell out $75+ for an office visit instead of taking care of their patients during your yearly annual exam. Their filing systems are garbage and will try to tell you it's been over a year since they've seen you even though they've billed insurance for your annual visit less than a year ago. They'll tell you that you didn't fill your prescription for over 6 months (even though you have the pharmacy receipts for having filled each time it was available for refill) and say they can't renew your birth control prescription until you come in for a pregnancy test first. ?!?! You'll also make an appointment for your main doctor then be given an assistant or PA on the day of your appointment without being told even at checkin. Oh and that's after waiting 30 minutes in the room for them. Again, totally fine to see a PA but not what was booked or who all appointment reminders said you would be seeing. I am so very sad right now that my doctor of 37 years has retired. Dr. Griner was amazing and so was the office when it was Paragon Medical. Now you dial the number and end up on hold for 20 minutes to talk to a person only to find out that it is not the office but some centralized booking center. You can only talk to the office if they call you back in 1-3 business days. Or you go into the office which is what I will need to do to get any answers. Village Medical is only interested in their bottom line and not the patient's health. I was surprised when they said you can see a new doctor, Dr. Udall, on Nov. 8th. Now i knew Dr. Udall had been with Dr. Griner for many years so i happily accepted that date and time. Then when they came back on the line I was told that appointment will be tight because Village Medical "Protocol" for ER followups is 40 mins and that appointment won't allow for that. Now the ER followup was for a heart attack scare. Their next appt. was Nov. 16th. He told me he would book that and make a "note" to see if the 8th would be possible but I have to wait 1-3 business days to see if they answer. WTH is happening to our health system. This absolutely sucks. Will most likely be finding another Doctor. As an add on to this review I did end up going into the office. 2 people at desk Jessica and Sabrina. It was obvious Jessica could have cared less but Sabrina was very nice and helped me. read more

The major issue is that in addition to hiring people from the bottom of the bin, they hire doctors who have had their licenses suspended for doling out narcotic meds (6 separate cases on AZ MEDICAL BOARD, and don't even do a background check on their own physicians. The only way to get your prescriptions filled is asking for a paper copy. When it takes 3 and 4 times of them faxing to the pharmacy and you still have to return to pick it up, to me, that is unacceptable!!! Now let's talk about getting a refill! Even worse! I switched from a useless Doctor to a wonderful nurse practitioner, had to send in for a refill. Come to find out the prescription was still under the doctors name so when the pharmacy sent it, he did nothing with it. I am saddened to see the long list of poor reviews for this medical office but I am not surprised. We had been going to this office for many years and under different business names. I went in last year as a follow up for a TIA. The emergency room released me without an MRI because they were backed up and told me to follow up with my PCP. I went in and saw a NP (you never see the doctor there) and she went absolutely ballistic with me because I left the ER. I explained that the ER said I could go if I follow up with my Dr, which is what I was doing. I was actually yelled at by the NP! I resisted the desire to get up and walk out but instead I sat there and let her scream at me. I am not kidding. I was appalled. Instead of providing the needed follow up care she said she refused to help me. She actually said that to me. I then left and was charged a hefty fee for my appointment where I sat and got screamed at. Needless to say, after decades with that office, we found other medical providers. I now see my doctor every time I make an appointment. He knows me and understands my medical needs. Great care. I honestly believe that the two doctors (Griner & Udall) who started the practice were getting ready to retire and sold out to the highest bidder. The prescriptions I needed were sent to pharmacy incomplete so I've had to wait longer than needed to pick up. I feel the team lacks empathy and compassion for their patients. This was the most unprofessional office I have ever tried to work with. I went in with paperwork for them to fill out which would done the next Tuesday. I walk in to get my paperwork and they tell me "oh she left you a voicemail. She can't find your paperwork & wants you to fax another copy to her". Then I look at my phone and they left me a voicemail at 4:10 PM THAT DAY... thank you for wasting my entire week. They treat patients just fine when in office. However, trying to get a call back about a medical question/concern is impossible. The person answering calls is NOT a medical professional...just a paper pusher. You are told you will get an return call in "one to two business days", but after a week and no call back frustration mounts. I am a physician that had a very successful practice and this would never have been allowed in my office. I also don't think the doctor knew how to work up a patient for anemia which should be a basic skill. Don't tell patient's/families to go see a hematologist/oncologist with no labs or workup to inform the hematologist about your condition. Very poor medical "care". Stay away or change practices if your current Dr. Office has been bought by Village Medical. This is what happened to my parents Dr office. Now I can never speak directly to Dr office I have to go through Village medical call center who then says they will leave a message with Dr. Office. I wait sooo long just to get lab results and recently had to put my dad on Hospice so he could get the care and medication he needed. So sad. I have now waited 7 days for results and still have none. In the past I had to drive to office and ask directly to get results. They are not Elderly friendly as you have to have app to access numbers, lab results etc. As well they use only IPads for signing in and you need to put all same info in every visit even if you were there the day before. Just ridiculous. Sad to me that this is the state of our Healthcare system. read more

I am tired of the health industry and its blatant disregard for patients' ability to come out of pocket for fees that were never explained to them prior to being seen. They did this to me after my 1st visit to the facility on Brown. I had to come up with extra money I did not have to cover charges I was not made aware of. Now they are doing the same thing to my daughter. She went to her appointment today and was told she had to pay $90+ before she could be seen for a visit that she had at another location which she was sent to by their representative. When asked what the charges were for the receptionist had no clue and said you have to call billing. If you cannot be transparent with your clients and ensure they know what they may be facing for extra out-of-pocket costs then you should not be able to charge them. If the company I work for did this, there would be a lawsuit to follow. Disgusting how the medical industry is allowed to just rape the people needing medical care. read more

I worked with Loren Eberhard, PA and it was an awful experience. I wanted to get a blood test done, then do the same exact tests one month later. Loren agreed that he would order the same exact tests to be done and when I went in a month later, they were completely different tests. This set me back because I took time off work and I needed the tests to be done that day. Village Medical made me call a different doctor because Loren was not in office, then charged me $116 for the consultation to get my tests fixed after Loren messed them up. After spending weeks trying to get in contact with customer service, they said they would review it after arguing with me for hours. They eventually never got back to me and sent the bill to collections. This place is a scam and one of the worst offices I have been to. Loren Eberhard really screwed me over and I asked them to fix it in which they did nothing. read more
