My takeaway from my experience at Innovative Primary Care is they are more of a cosmetic healthcare business vs. a medical doctor's office. The staff is not approachable; they don't communicate very well. Every time I asked them a question their response to me was, "I don't know". NOT, I don't know let me find out and get back to you - just I don't know and then crickets. I felt like every time I called it went to voice mail and not one time did anyone ever call me back. I sent an email through their portal because I wanted to pay my co pay since it wasn't listed after two months. I finally got an answer three weeks later. From 6/24 - 7/1 I called 11 times, and no one ever called me back I have my call log. I really don't understand this as one day I counted over 18 ppl in the office. I had a horrible experience at my most recent visit. The front desk employee Angela should not be in any patient facing roll. She had been arguing with another patient prior to my interaction. There were a total of 3 patients in the waiting room (including myself) and only one male. She called up Bill and the only male patient made no attempt to go up to the desk. I waited a bit and then I thought maybe she had said "Jill" so I walked up and asked if she called Jill and she was so unprofessional and rude and said she had called up Bill and that she would call me when it was my turn. I told her I heard a name similar to mine and the other two patients did not get up and she didn't have to treat me like that. Another employee came up and tried to diffuse the situation and said it's early. The first patient that had a bad experience with Angela said that yes it's early but it was not excuse to be rude. Angela finally realized that Bill had headphones in and said that's what happened. I tolder her that made sense but it was no reason to be rude to me. I wanted to walk out but I knew I would be charged and needed to get my healthcare needs addressed. The actual appointment with Kayley was great but my interaction with Angela has totally put me off of the practice. read more

I have nothing but positive comments for this Place. They have helped me more than I can tell you. I went to a naturopath for four years and she never helped me as much as the doctors at this office has. whatever issue I have there's a doctor that can help me in the same building and I can get my blood work all done there at the same time they've been very accommodating, helpful, friendly. I've seen Karie Fedorick twice now and she's fantastic! She always takes her time to sit with me, answer all my questions, and give suggestions about what to look for and expect as I enter perimenopause. She put me through some blood tests, thoroughly explained the results, and then suggested some supplements before HRT to encourage my body to balance its own hormones. I can't speak to other providers but I've been very pleased with my experiences. read more

i love my doctor. she is amazing and genuinely cares. because of her, i'm still not going to find another place for now. however, the front desk people are AWFUL at communicating. they can also be rude sometimes. it's a hassle getting an appointment lately. they don't bring you back until for at least 20-30 mins until after your appointment time. the front barely answers the phone half the time i call & barely ever call me back when im expecting them to. barely answer my messages on the portal. read more

Myself and members of my family have seen Dr. Levitt for years and could not be more pleased with the level of care from her and her staff. I am a walking assortment of autoimmune conditions and thus not an easy patient. I feel like my doctor actually knows me and always takes the time to listen and there is none of that "take a number, wait, and the Dr. will give you your Z Pack" mentality that permeates in modern medicine. I also appreciate that she uses a both naturopathic as well as "western medicine" without being dogmatic about either methodology. I have read the negative reviews here and they seem to center around office organization. Have I personally had miscommunications or frustrations with the office? Sure I have. I will settle for a few rare administrative frustrations if the trade off is getting to see a doctor that actually cares, listens, and spends time with their patients. Chaotic offices have become the norm. A quality primary care doctor is as rare as hens teeth these days. read more

This is a health care boutique, not a serious medical facility. went to an initial and 2 other appointments, care giver never examined me, but always advised that I stop at the front desk and purchase a supplement, none of which I was familiar with and the last one I purchased my new doctor said she would not put anyone on. The front desk was never capable of charging me my copay at the time of service and billing was incapable of charging me for said service until months later. This office seems more interested in pursuing the cosmetic end of the business having a private waiting room for those patients, sending special offer emails and decorating the main waiting room with brochures and monitors advertising there cosmetic services. If you can't do the medical care well stop trying to. read more

This is genuinely the worst medical practice I have ever been to. I NEVER leave reviews on Yelp, but I can't sit still and let people willingly give their time and money to this horribly unprofessional medical practice. Here's why: 1. My deductible has been met all year, yet they still charge me for no reason even though they never acknowledge that my deductible is met. I tell them to bill it to my insurance, they don't care. I always leave having to pay them something. Which is not ideal since I am a full time student and am self employed with my own business. I make money, but I'm not exactly in a position to be spending $200+ every single time I go to the doctor's office. Especially when I have top dollar insurance. 2. In my last appointment, Angela, at the front desk put me on hold while I'm standing in front of her with a 105°F fever, sweating bullets. She was making reservations to a seafood restaurant for a whole 5-6 minutes. Then she finally decided to check me in for my appointment. Meaning that she can't bothered to help me whatsoever. 3. They have scorpions, and insect infestations in their offices, multiple. Yes, SCORPIONS. The doctor has killed some in front of me during my appointment. I was disgusted. 4. My doctor never made notes of my chronic hypotension. Then, when I told the nurse, she was genuinely surprised. 5. My primary care doctor left the practice and I was not notified. 6. I was overcharged consistently, which tells me they're not keeping their books in order. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could, but that would be too ruthless, and I'm too kind. Some of the folks there are kind, Ciji is an incredible doctor/NP. I hope she gets hired elsewhere because she's incredible and deserves a practice that treats her better! But I can't willingly stand by and let folks keep getting service from them, spending time and money. Find somewhere else. read more

Spouse and I have been patients for 8+ years. The quality of care at this practice has hit the bottom. We continued on for 3-4 years too long, as changing primaries is a hassle. The turnover in PA is unbelievable (or not, considering...), we've had 4 new PAs in 3 years because they don't stick around there! We finally had enough when we sought out a specialist and they recommend we find a new primary, stat. We left and found an amazing practice. It definitely opened my eyes to how bad it is at IPC. I highly don't recommend walking through their doors. Have many, many examples of poor care, prescribing meds without monitoring, etc. It's so sad because this used to be an incredible practice. read more

I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment and was told I could not be seen. Apparently they needed me to fill out some paperwork. No one had told me this was necessary despite my having booked the appointment twice (I had had to cancel the first one). The paperwork consisted of some yes/no answers and could easily have been completed prior to my appointment in much less than 15 minutes, but I was not given that option. I was told I was wrong, the staff always required patients for this appointment to come in early. Rather than trying to accommodate me for their error I was told to go away and that I was wrong - not them. Given that this wasn't the first time that this office has shown that it is extremely poor at communicating and showing that they care I am now going to find another provider. read more

I love the providers that I see but the office is run terribly. There is always a wait but today after waiting for 30 mins I asked how much longer it was going to be and was told another 20-30 mins. I asked why they didn't call patients to inform them that a provider was out resulting in everyone being an hour behind. They didn't have any answers so they grabbed the manager. I had another appointment to get to and they could not get me in sooner, had nothing more available this week and were out of office the following week. I was not told about the wait, not even when I arrived. To expect people to wait an hour to be seen and not even let them know is insane! read more

Zero if I could. Wish I had been treated as well as some others reviewers were. My encounter with Innovative Primary Care unfortunately, was the most unprofessional interaction I have ever had with medical "professionals". I called in as a new patient and advised I needed a wellness exam. My request for an appt was accepted, received confirmation and asked to arrive early to complete "new patient" paperwork. Took time off work, drove over early as requested, completed all the new patient paperwork (all this takes valuable time). I noticed the assistant that moved me from the lobby to the treatment area, seemed to be in a bad mood - no worries - it happens. She moves me to the treatment room and announces they don't do wellness exams for new patients? (What?). Absolutely, no explanation - when I asked why that information was not shared when I booked my appointment nor is mentioned on the website. The website that clearly mentions - PHYSICAL EXAMS! "Internal Medicine The internal medicine team is led by Innovative Primary Care founder Sandra Levitt MD. She is joined by Hezekiah Chinwah MD and Todd Schuster PA-C and Kay Southwell, NP-C. This team of providers cares for patients ages 15 and up. Our focus is treatment of general medical problems, performing physical exams, problem solving, managing acute and chronic health issues, and promoting wellness" The assistant then says "ya, we don't do them, - hold on"; I sit there waiting, when the office manager Colleen walks in. Her approach is to repeat what the assistant said in a very condescending manner. I comprehended the message from the assistant, comprehension not an issue - wasting my time - big issue. And, then to be patronized --- doesn't work for me. My advice be careful with this practice - services seem to be rendered on the fly. And, their veracity is questionable at best as I had to remind the office manager - I do not expect for my insurance to be charged for a visit. She actually looked surprised at that stipulation. Be careful and be sure to be sure they are going to honor the services they advertise before you go. read more

I really needed to get in but know that same day appointments aren't easy to accommodate. I called and explained the situation and they were able to see me. The front desk was efficient and so was the nurse who checked my vitals. Kay took her time with me and made sure that she had all of the information she needed and was able help me. I used them for my annual gynecological exam and prescriptions for 1 medication and mammogram exam. I had an appointment set for late December 2022. I receive multiple email, telephone and text reminders confirming. I show up and they said Darlene the FNP I was to see was sick and they left me a message cancelling my appointment. I pulled out my phone and no message - they had no explanation. But they would charge me for a missed appointment. I missed wages and they could not fit me in or see me before the end of the year. I should have known to change when in April when I told Darlene I had been exercising and dieting resulting in significant weight loss and she ordered a fecal test for parasites! Turns out sustained diet and exercise works and I didn't have any parasites. read more

This PCP office is just wonderful. I see Todd Schuster and he is empathetic and has always helped me with any issue. I have a chronic disease and have seen over 60 doctors/practices in several cities so far. I can honestly say that this is the best medical office I have ever dealt with. The front desk staff are awesome and so fast - I've never had to call and check up on labs or paperwork, they're happy to fax records to my other providers and do it immediately and they are just fantastic. The people giving bad reviews for being required to wear face masks during a pandemic and other such nonsense should be banned from yelp and their reviews deleted. You guys just made a HUGE mistake by leaving and causing a stink - you won't find a better practice than this and I'm a difficult and needy patient due to my chronic disease. Oh, and I would be terrified if you were allowed inside without masks as I'm high risk for the corona virus, and selfish people like yourselves should be ashamed of yourselves and quit blaming others for your lack of concern. Huge thanks to this practice for being so helpful and on top of everything and for keeping us all safe! P.S. they also do not overbook like most offices and intentionally leave appointments open for urgent concerns. And I've never had to wait for my appointment. I was just checking what time they open today as I need to call them and saw the bad reviews. I was hesitant to write an honest, glowing review because I have to push most of my other medical offices for everything like it's my job and it's stressful and I don't want everyone else to find out about my secret awesome doctor's office and start overcrowding them - but, after seeing the nonsense one star reviews because the patients refused to wear masks and other ridiculous complaints, I've decided to give them their due props. Big attitude at this office regarding concierge. I was a long time patient and given an ultimatum either go with the concierge that was now the way they do business or leave because they were no longing seeing patients who were not part of this concierge and they quoted me 1,600 a year to join. My labs were put into my hands and the dr turned and walked out when I gave her my honest opinion of this concierge mentality. Since leaving I am much better under the supervision of another primary care facility. I would never return to this business. I'm entitled to my opinion and those that give good reviews are entitled to theirs. As for me this is a no go! Make your own choice. read more

I have been a patient here for years and they are going so downhill it's horrible. They can't keep their dr's and now my dr. is part time. If you need a refill when they aren't there, sorry can't help. I had bloodwork done 3 months ago and a virtual appointment. now they won't refill my thyroid meds until I come in again. Did they call to tell me this, no they just denied my thyroid medication. When I call in, oh the dr is out, can't help you, just go without your meds until she gets back in. This happens so often then I meet with the dr. and she asks why we're meeting if it is just for refills. They are a total mess go anywhere else. read more

The fact that this office has one star is absurd. My entire family goes here and I have personally recommended a few of my friends. Dr. Stephanie is awesome. Her bedside manner and natural empathy are a true breath of fresh air. She really listens to what you have to say, looks you in the eye and treats you like a person. I will never go anywhere else. I have very rarely had to wait and if I have it's not been for long. I also see Dr. Robb here for acupuncture. She's amazing as well. My daughter has seen Dr. Todd when Stephanie was out and he was also super friendly and very thorough. We have never felt rushed. All of the staff is great, especially Luis. I have been a patient here for a couple of years now. Pro's - the office is very clean and relaxing with a waterfall in the lobby. - Colleen, the billing person, is very friendly and helpful on the phone with billing issues. She returns calls promptly. However, she doesn't always work in the office. - The nurse practicioners usually listen well and are genuinely concerned about diagnosing an issue. There was only one who seemed to judge me based off a life decision based off her response. but I could have taken it wrong. Con's - They are ALWAYS running behind. An I am not talking 20 minutes. they are 30 minutes to an HOUR late for my appointment every time. They do take the time to apologize for the wait, but it doesn't make it better. Once is understandable. Not every time. - The check in process is pretty lengthy. So after waiting an hour, you have to answer what seems like 50 questions. The nurses ask the questions and fill it out on a computer which is kind of cool. - The office girls are ALWAYS rude, they NEVER smile and are not friendly, nice or helpful at all. They act like they are "too good" to be answering your "stupid" questions. Not really how I want to be greeted at a doctors office. read more

I visited Innovative Primary Care to get help with my skin. I recently had terrible acne and was left with plenty of scarring, so I scheduled an appointment with Karen, the aesthetician. She was super nice and social making me feel very comfortable. After looking at my skin, she decided laser treatment was what was best for me. I have now had about 5 or 6 treatments and have seen enormous differences! I went in with my skin having texture, bumps, and redness, now my skin is not nearly as red and is incredibly smooth. I still go back for treatments and every time I see more improvements within my skin. I love this place and the results I have been presented with! read more

As a business owner myself, I can say that this facility is top notch! From the receptionist to the staff to all the providers and Dr. Levitt herself. I met with them all for a lunch and received the warmest reception and was able to have fresh and insightful conversations with all of the providers and the referral coordinator. All of the doctors are warm, they take time to listen and ask great questions. I am looking forward to a long term relationship with this facility. They are definitely top notch and I can tell they all take great care of their patients and genuinely care. You will wait 40-60min for your 15min doctor's appointment. Dr. Chinwah is incredibly slow, not thorough and doesn't have a great bedside manner. I could live with two of these things but not all three. Go elsewhere, your health matters! read more

I went here as part of my search to find a new Naturopathic/Western Medicine solution for my health care. I set an intake appointment and was urged to choose Dr. Chinwah. My friend's recommendation had been for Dr. Levitt, but I wanted to be open minded, so I thought I'd give it a try. My first impression on walking into the waiting room was good. The front office person was polite and the waiting room feels spacious and inviting at the same time. It did have a feel of a larger office, and I am used to smaller naturopathic offices. I just was willing to go through the change, as I thought the combination of both types of modalities would be a good direction for me. The first person to take my information was the physician's assistant, and she was great. I had brought in, as requested on the web site, all the vitamins and supplements I took and we went over them. Then I waited for the Dr. who finally came. He was quite abrupt and combative with me. He claimed I did not need my thyroid medication initially (that I've been on for years and do actually need) until he looked further done my test results and saw the rest of the results. Then he agreed to give me my prescription as long as I would get my labs redone, and abruptly ended the session before allowing me to go over all my other health concerns. I had thought it was an intake appointment, and I am used to going to naturopaths who treat the whole person. The practice is listed as having a strong natural medicine component as well as Western medicine, so I was surprised that the doctor did not take the time to do the full intake, but relieved to have my thyroid prescribed, since without it I get sick. I left and the front office promised to submit to my insurance. I emphasized that I would pay if the insurance did not pay (we have this new type of ACA insurance that is preventative only) but she wouldn't take my money then, preferring to submit first. After submitting the claim it came back denied. Again I was going to pay, but the front office asked me to call the insurance company and find out why it was denied. I called the insurance office and they told me the claim needed to be marked as preventive and it was not. They told me to have the doctor resubmit the claim as preventative and they would pay it. The insurance company felt the intake appointment was definitely preventative care. When I called the front office they assured me they would submit with the requested code. However, the backoffice later called my WORK phone (not my cell phone which is my primary contact) and left a huffy message that the appointment was NOT preventative and they would NOT resubmit for payment, as if I were trying to do something illegal or unethical. Actually I had offered to pay out of pocket several times, and was only resubmitting due to the request of both the insurance company AND the front office. So I called the front office, who graciously took a small discount off the entire cost especially as seeing the doctor did not do a full intake, and I paid my bill. I got my retest at the labs and got my thyroid renewed, but continued looking for a new doctor's office to try. I have found a new doctor. I would guess that this doctor's office is a mixed bag and your mileage may vary. You might like this office if you get the right doctor and your insurance is the right type for the back office. My experience wasn't so good, so I just wanted the doctor's office to know they have a few areas they do well and a few that could be improved. read more

ZERO STARS NEGATIVE STARS I went to this practice after relocating to the East Valley. Saw Roxy Anderson nurse practitioner who was not interested in hearing what my health concerns were but more interested in talking to me about diabetic management. I am aware that my blood sugars are high and I have an elevated A1 C, I know I can manage this with diet and exercise given some time. Roxy insisted that I get started on two types of diabetic medications one of which was an injectable. I spent the next 3 weeks feeling awful and sick, neither of which I have time for in my busy life. I also believe Roxy had some transference issues and she told me all about her family members that suffered from diabetes. She also told me about the foods I need to eat and wanted me to see a diabetic food manager. None of this was what I went to see her about, and had concerns about. I know I need to lose weight and exercise but don't need an NP shaming me about it. How about acknowledging that lifestyle changes take time. I was then told to have labs done yet again which cost a lot of money and return for another visit. This time I wanted to talk about my concerns however was not given that opportunity. She walked in the room with a nasty attitude and stated so I understand you're not going to do what I recommended and you don't care about your health. This was a misunderstanding from the MA who appeared to be 12 years old when I said that Roxy is more concerned than I am about diabetes. She Was unempathetic uncaring and very cold. I tried to explain that I cannot afford the cost of coming into see her so often and continuing to have lab draws and her response was she will not treat me unless I follow what she tells me to do. I LEFT THE OFFICE IN TEARS. The final straw was today when I called the practice for the 3rd time since my visit to ask to have my hormones replacement medication to be called in to my pharmacy that I Have been using for several years. The receptionist who answered the phone said they would not send that in until I paid the $100 balance due on the account. The people I have dealt with inthis practice are so self involved not at all caring about what their patients want. Btw I am a healthcare professional and if I treated my patients in this matter I would be without a job. SHAME SHAME ON YOU read more

Terrible....you can never see the actual doctor, the turnover is incredible and makes you wonder why. I arrived at 220 for a 240 appointment, people who had come in after me had been seen and by 3pm I went to the front desk to ask what was going on. When she came back she said the MA was having computer trouble!!! Seriously? You make me wait bc your computer isnt working? I went in trying to see the person I had been seeing only to find they had left and I was seeing someone new. After sitting with me for about 6 minutes she basically said I cant help you and to find another doctor!!!! WTH read more

I'm a new patient. They ordered lab tests and now they will not give me my results over the phone. I need to pay for another appointment in order to get my lab results. Well I had an emergency in the family, and I'm out of town! Oh but they are quick to get your lab results from other doctors! The place is clean. Walking into their office makes me feel like I'm walking into a spa! This clinic offers massages.......Imagaine that! I will return because they are holding most of my labs hostage!!!! They did call me about a week later to give me just one lab result! They said in order for me to get the other lab results I need to pay for a doctors visit! I switched doctors!
