I have been seeing Dr. Heather at the Phoenixville location for many years now and she is just wonderful. She listens carefully, to my questions and concerns, does a comprehensive exam and evaluation, explains what's going on with my eyes, and talks about treatment options. I will never willingly go anywhere else for eye care. In addition, Jessica is a wizard at adjusting glasses that get bumped out of kilter by grandchildren, and the ladies at the front desk are always cheerful and pleasant both in person and on the phone. This location is twice as far from my home as the Paoli location, but I still prefer to go to Phoenixville. read more

I was referred to Dr Megan Lynott for a consultation of her specialty in Eye Movement disorders. She is an employee on salary at the 'Village Optical' and works in their different locations. Dr Lynott falsified my medical records, committed Medicare fraud, unethical behavior, refused to ever meet , talk or write to me explaining her findings. This was supported and encouraged by the owners of Village Optical. I spoke with and emailed the owner, Greg Vallino and his brother Marc Vallino a number of times regarding these issues and asked that they have her follow through with her job and explain her findings to me. Their first response was "we are 100% sure that Dr. Lenott's Documentation were accurate". if they had audio recordings of appointments they would know she's lying. The only possible way they could say that is if the wrote or helped her write the falsified records. Which are now part of my permanent Medical Record. She sent these falsified records to my primary care physician without my permission. This company has no morals, and no ethical standing . they commit Medicare fraud, lie to their patients, which for me, has delayed any possible diagnosis or treatments that could help improve my vision following cataract surgery and a lens exchange For over 6 months. Greg Vallino had Dr Lynott dismiss me as a patient the day after I found out about these document. It has been almost 6 months. I had to go to another specialist who explained all of their testing results, what my diagnosis was, and what they recommended would help improve the vision in my right eye. No individual, especially patients, deserve to be treated in such an unethical manner. There doors closed and their license revoked. ***** I am doing and will continue to do everything I can to bring justice . I would never recommend for anyone to see any of their doctors because the owners are so corrupt that would be Greg Vallino and his brother Marc Vallino. I Hope this will help other patients to seek ophthalmology care at a different practice . Cool, the owner called after my horrid experience and assured me it shouldnt have happened. Michael had to undo the damages frames and properly fit them. Im a villanova professor so need the progressive lens to be fitted. The other guy couldnt be bothered to help. I have mixed feelings about this practice. On one hand, we had a professional optometrist and assistant working with us to pick out glasses and read the prescription; on the other hand, this is a disorganized practice which has led to much frustration. On Aug 10, I went with my fiancé to get his eyes checked and his glasses picked out at the Collegeville location. The optometrist Barbara was professional and the assistant was helpful in picking out glasses that fit our budget and looked good. We even spent an extra hour just chatting about our upcoming trip with Barbara. We were told our glasses would be ready in 10 days, which we were hoping to pick up before our vacation. A week later, we called to see if they were ready and we were told no, maybe in a few days. Then around 4 days later we receive a call saying that due to production issues the glasses will take another week, which was disappointing since we had to leave for vacation before then. We get back from vacation 3 weeks later and finally the office at Collegeville calls us saying the glasses are ready to be picked up. We go a few days later and they can't find our glasses. They said that for some reason it was billed under Phoenixville office and that they have the glasses. This was frustrating for us as we live closer to phoenixville and would've gone there had we known. They asked if we wanted it shipped to Collegeville office and we said no, we will pick it up in Phoenixville. A few days later (today), we go to Phoenixville to pick up the glasses and we are told that they aren't there, now they said it was billed under KOP office and they didn't know where the glasses were. It wasn't until we told them the entire situation at this point that they called Collegeville and confirmed the glasses were there. We drive to Collegeville immediately and picked up the glasses. All the associates were apologetic but it is crazy that we needed 3 separate visits just to pick up glasses ordered 6 weeks ago. I hope this business can improve their organization. read more

I had a bad experience at this office. The actual eye exam was great. And Ashley was very helpful while I was trying to find glasses. I was having trouble but she let me know they were getting more options and to come back in a week or two. When I came back Ashley wasn't there and I was completely ignored by Dave, one of the opticians. He knew what I was there for but completely looked over me and would not acknowledge that I was there. It was such an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience I left. I called back on the phone to get my prescription emailed to me so I could get my glasses elsewhere, and the front desk woman could not have cared less that I had a bad experience. She completely ignored me when I let her know. The experiences of their patients do not seem to matter at all. As a patient this was a terrible experience and I will not be going again. read more

I've been coming here for several years and each time I leave I think that I need to find a new place. The main issue is how rude the front desk staff are. The doctors are ok but I often feel like they are just rushing you through the process. This place needs to work customer service back into all facets of the business. read more

Do not recommend this practice. I was a new patient and the two times I went to the practice, I had to wait for a receptionist to be free despite no customers in line. For my eye exam, I had a substitute optometrist that I was not informed about until I asked if the optometrist was new because of how awkward my eye exam was during my appointment. I ordered contacts over the phone and I was never informed that my contacts came into the office until I called two weeks later for a status update. In addition, I received an invalid rebate form with my contacts which I had to call over 5 times to receive a correct code. 2 calls not being picked up- 3rd call where a receptionist left a note for the office staff to call me back because the receptionist I talked to didn't handle contacts- 4th call to follow up again because the office never called me back-5th call to inform the office that they provided me another invalid rebate code that I received during my 4th call. Very frustrated with this practice. read more

I have gone to village optical for many years and i cannot believe the change in the front desk staff. They are rude and very unprofessional. Where do I start. When I had my exam and was dialated on a sunny day they did not have any eye protection to offer me to put over my eyeglasses for my drive home. They just said oh we forgot to order them. My drive was awful. They also gave me the wrong case for my 700.00 eyeglasses and when I asked for the correct case they were very annoyed. Also my son was never fitted/ given the chance to try different contacts. He was just given a prescription which wasn't for his dry eyes. Very disappointed. I wonder if the doctors even know whats going on. I have always thought very highly of Doctor Vallino but the front desk is ruining that practice. read more

The only reason this is getting a 2 star review and not a 1 star is because Dr. Heather is awesome. She's nice, pleasant, and listens to you. After that, the experience with Village optical is awful. They never ordered my husband's lenses. He called because mine came in and I got a call, but he never got a call even though our appointments were within a week of each other. His were never ordered. Now, my daughter and I went in together and we each ordered new frames and lenses. She received a call and picked up her glasses. After another week, I called to see where my new sunglasses and new lenses were. I suspect they were never ordered. Village said they had to check with the manufacturer and would return my call. I still haven't heard from them in 3 business days. There are several assistants with whom you work to get your glasses. The man doesn't have any personality and barely says a word. He's excellent in replacing and adjusting glasses, but the experience is so dry and not helpful. If you ask a question, he just walks away without saying anything. Perhaps he is on the autism spectrum which I can appreciate. But he should not be in a customer service role then. There is another woman assistant who has personality and is very helpful. She's gregarious and offers style assistance and feedback. A 3rd assistance in between the two extremes. The front desk staff seem to be bothered you are even there. You feel like you are interrupting their personal conversations to get acknowledged. Good luck getting your glasses and finding what you want, after the wonderful exam with Dr Heather. read more

My husband and I decided to try out Village Optical because of their convenient hours. We both were examined by Dr. Heather. She was friendly and easy-going, and listened to my concerns (I have complicated glasses prescription). She gave me an excellent exam. Their selection of frames is decent for a small business. I bought my frames elsewhere, and brought them to Village Optical for the lenses. They had no problem with this. It took a couple of tries with different types of lenses to get my glasses just right. But they were helpful every time, if perfunctory. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because their front desk staff's interpersonal skills could use some improvement. read more

I have a story here to write, please read on. For years I have been going to another eye doctor and my exams took about 10 minutes. You know the usual look at the red balloon and then can you see better with this lens or that lens? Ok all done... I was told a few years ago I needed prism in my one lens. Oh ok what ever that means... your the Doctor. The last visit I had there was 3 years ago . I wore bi-focals and the Doctor told me to get progressive lenses so I was sent to his optician, who said pick out what you like . She never said anything about what I should have, so being a cheap skate I PICKED THE CHEAPEST GLASSES AND LENSES I COULD GET. It took me 6 months and 4 visits back complaining since I couldn't see right. All she kept saying was you will get used to the progressives. Then I met My future beautiful and highly skilled wife Geri who is an optician with Village Eye Care. I told her I couldn't see right with these glasses. She checked them out and first she told me they are way to small for progressive lenses and they are totally wrong for me. I made an appointment with Doctor Greg. The exam took about 40 minutes and I looked into machines I never saw in my life. I was getting worried that something was wrong, then Doc Greg said this is a routine exam and he was really surprised I never had one that thorough before. He found I never had prism in by glasses and didn't need it. He corrected my script and Geri would not let me be Cheap and showed me the BIG difference between cheap lenses and premium lenses . I got what she recommended and for the first time in years I could see perfectly. WOW what a difference! Thanks so much Doctor Greg for caring so much and taking the time to explain everything to me.. what a difference in Doctors. Everyone at Village Optical was so friendly and caring, you got to meet Marc. He is Greg's brother and one of the owners and the office manager. He is great also and goes the extra mile to help you. Sorry this review is so long but the moral of this story is your eyes are your most important of your senses and need to get the best care possible. Dr. Greg and the others Doctors are the best of the best. I will never go anywhere else and never be CHEAP again. Its just not worth hurting your eyes.
