Overall decent office but not right fit for me. Pros: shiny new office, competent doctor, lots of frames, convenient location, most staff is nice. Cons: pricey frames, rushed appointments, some staff can be snippy. Schedules change, people will be annoying, so handling this in a professional manner is expected. read more

New resident to the area and so many optical places to choose from. Each place had good and not so good reviews, so I decided to give this place a try because I was familiar with the location. The office staff was very professional and friendly and went out of their way to help me with any questions or concerns that I had. Dr Baird was great, very thorough in reviewing my concerns with my vision issues and explaining the results. I decided to try the Optomap instead of the standard dilation, and it was so easy. He showed me the pictures of both eyes and went over any findings. Just very pleased with the staff, Dr and their services offered. After reading all these positive reviews, my wife made an appointment to check out the frames. She found one that fits her well and the staff said they can hold it for her and she then made the eye exam appointment today. Once she's there, she was told that they already sold the frame. When asked why they didn't hold it as promised, the owner just said people don't always keep their appointments so they never hold anything. This is ridiculous, if they don't hold as a policy, why told the customer they will hold it. And hiding behind "people don't always keep their appointment" doesn't make sense since she made the eye exam appointment right there and confirmed it. read more

I may live in West Chester but I won't go anywhere else for my glasses. The staff is always welcoming and extremely helpful. I've been a patient here only a short tine and have been going through some eye surgery most of that time. Dr Baird, unlike some other doctors, always tries to get me the best for my eyes at the lowest price. My husband and eye recently had eye exams and eye glasses from Baird Optical in Phoenixville. We loved the doctor, selection and prices were good. They also didn't try to sell us into the most expensive glasses like I've experienced elsewhere. The doctor donates a portion of some of the sales on certain glasses to Big Brothers Big Sisters. He was a Big Brother himself before having a family. Just a really nice competent eye doctor. Glad we made the switch last year. We are both very happy with our new glasses. I wasn't quite due for an eye exam, but seeing how I recently obliterated my glasses I figured it was a good idea to update my prescription. Unfortunately my insurance only covers one exam every two years. So I turned to Groupon, and I am so glad I did - Baird Optical was quite the find! I have a total case of white coat syndrome, but Dr. Baird made me feel perfectly comfortable. I received a thorough eye exam; the update to my prescription I needed, and was thoroughly satisfied with the service. I was allowed to browse through the glasses and felt no pressure to buy a pair on the spot. I walked out with my prescription to return at my own convenience! Dr. Baird is the BEST! I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new optometrist for contact lenses and glasses. I'm really glad that I came across Baird Optical. The front desk is very welcoming and the office looks brand new. The doctor saw me immediately after checking in and was professional and friendly. He took the time to learn about my medical history, educate me about contact lens options, and answer all my questions. My previous optometrist was apparently a bit "old school", so I surprised by the modern diagnostic equipment that Dr. Baird used throughout the eye exam. I had an eye injury in the past and I have a family history of glaucoma, so I need my eye pressure checked routinely. Baird Optical has a machine that delivers a burst of air to determine the exact pressure in the eye; my previous doctor used his thumbs! The office has an extensive selection of both generic and designer frames that seem reasonably priced, and I didn't feel any pressure to buy anything like I have sometimes felt at optical chain stores. My new contacts arrived in just a few days after my visit. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend Dr. Baird. Let me tell you this. This is magical place!! My daughter had a brake down in our last optical place. She needed do drops and she freaked out. She was screaming crying and we couldn't do anything. And we came to Baird Optical. I have promised my daughter new toy and stuff just so she could do drops and have a proper exam. But well it was not necessary! We met doctor Baird and he was MAGICIAN! After my parents stopped forcing me to go to the eye doctor, it took me 11 years to go back. My husband and I are fairly new to the area and chose Baird Optical because the hours were flexible, they had good reviews, and it's right down the street from our house. Any nervousness we had about the appointment dissipated quickly as we met Dr. Baird and he invited us both back at once for the appointments rather than having us go one at a time. He was very nice and had a good sense of humor! He explained everything he was doing and was really thorough going over all our options for glasses and contacts. I have never particularly enjoyed going to an eye exam. In my experience, customer service takes a back seat to sales. That was not the case going to Dr. Baird's. I felt welcomed right when I walked in. Dr. Baird did the exam, answered all of my questions and explained the details of what was happening in depth. He mentioned that I didn't need glasses but if I wanted them for night driving, reading small print, etc. that my insurance would cover most of designer frames and all of a particular brand. He didn't try to sell me on anything, just gave me facts, explained the facts, and asked what I wanted to do. This place was a great find! Frankly, my last eye care provider was a bit of a joke...their hours were far less then convenient and although they provided ok service, I saw a noticeable difference at Baird Optical. The doctor was friendly, honest and smart as a whip. Really easy to talk to. Ended up buying some prescription sunglasses (which were far less expensive than when I priced a similar pair at my former provider). I hope others take advantage of this new owner experience, great showroom and super friendly office staff. Prices were right, too. I even scheduled my next appt. in advance. Dr. Baird is fantastic. He has made a huge difference in my eye sight. I was told by another doctor that there were no options for me to improve my vision with contacts. Well Dr. Baird was able to help with improving my eyesight with contacts and took the time to let me try several options and brands till I found the perfect match for me. I had an outstanding experience today at Baird Optical! After having some issues with my previous eye care provider, I stopped into Baird Optical and received tremendous service from both Dr. Baird and Kristin while selecting new frames. I ended up purchasing 3 pairs! The office is an impressive facility and their eye glass selection was extensive and reasonably priced. Then to make my visit even more "interesting" - we learned that my vision insurance company recently made an error while processing the claim of a family member (charging it against me) and Doctor Baird and Kristin both got on the phone with my insurance company and helped straighten out the matter.
