The doctors have been very kind and patient. The issue I have is that I arrived on time for each visit. The office is extremely overbooked. I had to wait 1 hour for one​ visit but 1.5 hours for my last two visits. I didn't get out until 2 hours after I arrived. Others that were waiting were complaining about how long it was taking. My husband has the same annual exam at another ophthalmologist group and hes in and out in under 40 minutes. I have already made the necessary arrangements to switch doctors. After his treatment, he discovered a new ability to move distance objects by directing an intense gaze at the object then rapidly sweeping his hand in the direction he would like to hurl said object. I should have listened to the reviews. Avoid at all costs. I have a very rare condition, requiring special eye drops (for which I have been in a study for 14 years; they are now approved by the FDA). I gave the Secretary some print outs, as I wouldn't think 'Doctor' Patel would not know anything about it. They wouldn't let me mail or fax the information before hand. Turns out, she didn't know shit about my condition and said she'd 'have to research the medication ' but would 'do her best'. I provided her with all the relevant background information. She told me leave, and the the nurse ( apparently is used as a bouncer to get rid of patients she deems unworthy) walked me out, got up in my face. I thanked her for wasting both our times and left. She has a bedside manner worse than Dr. House. read more

I had an appointment tonight at 6:00, and got there around 5:45. When I walked in the door, it looked like I had walked into a workshop (i.e., stuff strewn on desks/tables). Staff 1 looked at me and turned her head without saying a word. I walked down the hallway, thinking maybe I'd used the wrong door. Who's to know when you're being ignored. I stood at the end of the hallway for a little more than 5 min. Yes, I timed it. Staff 2 completely ignored me. Staff 3 and 4 were at the "reception" desk in the midst of an animated conversation (didn't seem work-related). 3 and 4 each looked at me, clearly annoyed that I was there. Despite that, I smiled and stared to talk. They turned away before I could get a word out. Staff 5 probably said hello only because I was standing in front of her office. She walked in, sat down, and picked up a file. Not one "have you been helped?" "May I help you?" "Hello." I doubt they noticed when I walked out. I will not reschedule. read more

Both my mother and I are patients at Phoenixville Eye Care Specialists (PECS). The office is extremely well run. They see you at the appointed time. There is no unnecessary waiting. In-and-out in about an hour. Bravo!! We are patients of Dr Shechter. She is thorough and very professional. Recently my 86-year-old mother became alarmed at a sudden change in vision. Dr Shechter was able to see her immediately! She diagnosed the problem and referred her to a wonderful retina specialist, Dr Saran. The staff at PECS called the specialist on our behalf and secured an appointment for the very next day. How gracious and wonderful!! We always considered Dr Shechter and the staff of PECS to provide 5-star professional service for our routine eye care. Based on this unusual situation (when thorough and prompt service is critical) we wish we could give them 6-stars. Thank you!! read more

I went to Phoenixville Eye Care for the first time in 2021. It was an eye exam, nothing remarkable. Paid my $65 for contact lens fitting fee. Come 2022, can't make an app because I've an outstanding balance of $104. Talk to office manager "Jill" to be told my bill was never paid. I go through bank statements and indeed I PAID. Take pic of statement, send to Jill. Jill states it shows nothing to the effect that I paid bill and that it could've come from anywhere. Go to bank get receipt of said day showing I paid aforementioned bill and bring to office. Millennial brings to billing department, "we keep every receipt from everyday and we have no receipt of your payment of said day". Now I'm effen infuriated. How is this my problem and why did it go to collections? Return back with statement of that day and have it signed by bank employee.... now it is accepted. This's how you run a billing department in a Drs office? These people should be ashamed of themselves. BTW, you've been warned, they will try to screw you...check those bills!! read more

I haven't met Dr. Patel in person that some people complain about. I think these patients lack the understanding that a lot of doctors being very book smart are on Autism Spectrum disorder, mild cases of Asperger's syndrome. It is why they don't exhibit a lot of empathy, but very knowledgeable and their profession oriented. Also it hurts my feelings to read that some guys reviews badmouthing Dr.Gullibon. He is the reason I give this practice five stars. My two boys have been his patients for years. One of them is a special needs kid with limited communication abilities. We could not be more satisfied how professionally with warmth and humor Dr. Gullible had handled my son's appointments. He would bring smiles to our faces for the rest of the day. read more

Leaving this practice as I should have years ago. It was never anything special, but was okay. But my doctor retired and his replacement Dr. Seema Patel is terrible. This past year just put me over the edge. I had my routine eye exam. Everything was perfect. 2 weeks later, I am emailed the notes from my exam. There were 3 findings, all of which were documented that they had been "discussed with patient" and that a careplan had been given to me. I had never even heard of these issues. So, I emailed the doctor. Never got a response. About 2 months later I called the office to find out why there was no response. The office manager said it was because she (the mgr) had been out on medical leave. But, I said, it was Dr. Patel that I had emailed. I was told that the doctors do not get their own emails. The office mgr reads and answers them. Nobody had picked up the job when she was out. When asked how she could help me, I told her I would like a call back from Dr. Patel to discuss my exam notes. She (the mgr) explained what the issues were. I told her that after waiting over 2 months, that I was upset and wanted to speak to the doctor. She said it was unnecessary now that she had taken care of my concerns. I told her that at this point my chief concern was that they had FALSIFIED MY MEDICAL RECORD! If they wanted to keep me as a patient after over 10 years, I expected a call back from the doctor! That was 7 months ago. I have a new ophthalmologist who seems to care about his patients. read more

HORRIBLE! Be warned! Not deserving of 1 star esp with emergencies. The saddest part is that I love Dr. Gulibon who I've had for years but Patel needs to lose her license to practice. She had me wait for at least an hour while I was sitting AND standing AND PACING one night while I was crying in pain from a chemical BURN in my left eye! This was a true EMERGENCY and not even the "compassionate and friendly" staff gave a shit that one of their patients needed help! Patel has absolutely no personality and ZERO COMPASSION. The staff here has always been very unfriendly and somewhat bitchy. They're like mean uncaring zombies who don't care about their patients. Especially the @&$@ at the front desk. OVERALL DISAPPOINTMENT! Referred to this office. First time I called to make an appt, someone picked up and asked me to hold. 15 minutes later I hung up. Called another day. Got an appointment. Specifically said I needed contacts and that I have glasses. At the appointment Assistant came to get me to do the first eye checks with machines. Asked why the visit. I said, "contacts. I need them I completely ran out." Doctor comes in asks again, I say contacts. Get prescription, order contacts through online. They call me and say this is not a script for contacts it's a script for glasses. All in all, they never redid my eye exam for contacts. They used my old box of contacts to get the prescription from a place (I went before and loved but are not taking my VSP insurance anymore) ordered me contacts and charge me $50 dollars for a contact fitting. Which I wouldn't mind paying if they didn't make me come back to the office 5 times. 2 times because my contacts were not even ordered and they needed the prescription off the box again. 2 more times because I showed up after giving them an extra week and they didn't have them. After this run around and no real apologies it's my last visit to Phoenixville Eye Specialist! read more

I went to this practice at the recommendation of my family doctor as I was having vision problems that an optometrist could not address. I was given an appointment with Dr Patel. She has absolutely NO personality WHATSOEVER! She did do a thorough job in determining just exactly what was wrong with my vision, I'll give her that. But when it comes to relating to other humans.....she sucks! I'd have a friendlier experience with a cat carcass than I had with her. Glad I made the change! I just switched to this practice on the recommendation of my physician. I was welcomed by the staff during my initial scheduling call, and was asked to provide basic contact and insurance information so it could be verified ahead of time. They prefer but do not require that you download and complete medical history forms prior to your first visit. I did and it made the first visit easier. The office was busy with doctors seeing patients as well as the optical shop staff assisting customers. Everyone was polite and both the technician and doctor who conducted my exam were knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I never really cared for the office staff, they seemed like it was a bother to even listen. I did however like Dr Patel, I have seleritis and whenever my eye was flaring she ALWAYS found time to see me. I may have had to wait a bit, but she always stayed and answered ALL my questions. This place is a disgrace! I made an appointment for my son to have an eye exam and get contacts (he is a new wearer of contacts). I purposefully scheduled his appointment for a day he was off from school. After his eye exam, they informed me that they would not be teaching him how to handle his contacts that day. They said I had to make two more appointments. When I questioned why the time to train my son on how to put in and take out his contacts wasn't just scheduled into the appointment since they knew that was the reason for our visit, Dr. Gulibon stood up and literally stomped his feet (just like a small child would do) and said, "I'm telling my office manager!" I'm sorry.... what??? I told them that they're money gouging, and the only reason why they want multiple appointments is so that they can make more money from the insurance company and in copays, when everything could have easily been handled in one day. I called for an appt. after having a sty on my lower lid for 4 weeks that would not go away. I usually see Dr. Rowley, but he's out of the country, I will given an appt. with Dr. Schecter - she prescribed a salve for my eye. After 2 days, I woke up with the other eye swollen shut and painful with what appeared to be a sty also. I treated both eye with the salve, but after 4 days there was no improvement. I called on Monday to get another appt. with Dr. Schecter to check the other eye too, she wasn't available so I was given an appt. with Dr. Gulibon for 2 days from then. I was called on the morning of the appt. and told that Dr. Gulibon had reviewed my records and felt there was nothing more they could do for me! I was stunned, he had no idea how painful and swollen my other eye was and had never seen me. Needless to say, they have lost a long time patient and I will tell everyone I know how un-professional this office is. read more

I recently had a new patient appointment with Dr. Guilbon, which was OK; based on just the exam I would give 3.5 stars. It was after the exam that everything went downhill. I ordered new contacts, and was told that they would arrive in approximately one week. After a week and a half, I called the office and left a voice mail asking if they had an ETA for the contacts. No one called me back. I called again the next day and left another voice mail. I then receive a message that states, because the person who orders the contacts was out sick since the day following my appointment, that they were not ordered until two days ago (10 days after my appointment), and would not be in until at least the following week. I still can't quite believe that anyone can run a business this way. One person being out sick should not result in this type of delay, why in the world did someone else in the office not take responsibility for servicing their customers? This is either poor management, laziness, or both. It is now two weeks after my appointment, I still do not have my contacts, and will likely be waiting for at least another week. After I finally receive my lenses and prescription, I will not be returning. read more

I would say the only friendly person in this practive was the woman who assisted me in picking out new glasses. I should have known it would be a bad experience when I called for my first appt and advise I was literally down the street, but would be 5 minutes late. The secretary informed me I would need to reschedule my appointment. I had taken off from work for the appoitment so I was irriatete to say the least. When I went in for my next appointment the secretary was clearly on a personal call and was not the kindness in terms of greeting me. I had some guy take me back to do some tests (he didn't introduce himself either) and was led to an exam room. Dr. Guilibon came in and was quick with the exam. Although he seemed thorough I was not pleased at the speed of my visit. There was no direction or confirmation of what he was doing, why I was being led into another room (to wait while my eyes dilated), and then there was a misunderstanding that I also wear contacts (and should have brought them with me). Overall, I was not happy with this practice and hope to never return. read more
