I had a very disappointing experience at this balloon party supply store. The customer service was rude and dismissive, and as a customer of color, I felt particularly disregarded. When I asked basic questions about party supplies, I was offered no assistance or guidance whatsoever. On top of that, the pricing felt excessive for the level of service provided. Customer service should feel welcoming and respectful, and unfortunately, that was not the case here. Because of this experience, I will not be returning or recommending this store. I love this store for long time. Inc security guards :) he's so helpful right after I entered the store. Just took one star off Indian workers need to communicate with customers when they make balloon decorations. Ribbon colors and design. We've been going here since the store was over on Greenwich. A fabulous store with everthing imaginable for parties, costumes for Halloween, cards and on and on, not to mention baloon creations of any kind, well priced, and delivered propthy as promised. AVOID!!!!!!! Not only did this place delivery my balloons ($35 delivery fee) to the wrong person but to the Birthday guy & ruined his surprise party! The drive showed up 45 minutes early never bothered to call the number provided and the name of the person that the balloons were sopost to be delivered to. On top of that they didn't even delivery the main letter balloons "40". It doesn't end there...the guy who helped me at the store, sold me too small of a table cloth, streamers that were "silver" but when I opened them they were old faded purple streamers that you couldn't even use. I've never wasted so much money ($242.14) on something that wasn't even half of what I ordered. When I called to inform the store of what happened they could care less. They never called me back to fix the situation, this place is a scam, avoid at all cost or you will put a dent in your bank account! read more

Don't buy their balloons. Mine popped within a few hours of delivery even though we didn't even touch it. Then they refused to honor warranty and blamed the customer. Their balloons probably were made long time ago and the glue or stitches or whatever have worn out over time already. read more

I had the WORST experience at this party store. While the store does have a large selection of balloons, streamers, and other party decorations, their customer service is 1 out of 5. I ordered some balloons for a suprise birthday party and did NOT receive what I had ordered. First, I ordered a total of 50 balloons and only received about half. Second, I specifically ordered a large number 3 and 0 with weights and did not receive them. Pretty crucial for a suprise 30th birthday. On top of everything, their delivery guy was one hour late (even after the 2 hour window I gave them when I placed my order) and the store did not return any of my messages when I called them after I received my partial delivery. Two days after the delivery, I went to the store, explained the situation, showed them my receipt I had got the day of purchase, and a picture of my partial order. They REFUSED to give me a full refund. The older gentlemen (who I assume is the owner) kept saying, "Well, at least you received some of the balloons." After going back and forth with the guy whose was only trying to offer a partial refund because "that was fair," they finally gave me my $250 back. read more

I picked up a bunch of Hawaiian accessories here for the upcoming Yelp weekend getaway on the Jersey Shore. Gotta be stylin' to party hard at the Luau Saturday night! I came in here last week Wednesday to look for a gay pride flag and other accessories for Manhattan's LGBT pride march at the end of the month. They had big LGBT PRIDE flags which I wouldn't be able to conceal on my way home so I did not get that. I saw a rainbow bowtie and that is what I got. It was reasonably priced. It's not as pretty as Party City, but it's still a large party store, crammed to the rafters with costumes and those special Made in China accessories that are just not available at Ricky's. I've been in at all hours of the day, and it's never been empty- even now when the holidays are dwindling. Even though there's always been a crowd, I've always been asked if I needed help. They probably have every you may need in terms of party supplies, but the store isn't in the best shape with disorganized aisles and pretty dusty/dirty floors. Like others have mentioned, the prices seem a little higher than average. They have costumes, utensils, balloons, pinatas, toys, really everything... The guys who fill up your balloons are super nice and will help you in any way you can! I do think they need to familiarize themselves with their own products as it seems like the owner (or maybe manager? no idea, but he seems Korean), and the balloon guys disagreed on whether these foil balloons I was getting could be blown up by myself at home. I was throwing a bus themed birthday party for my 2 year old. I ordered all these very well-coordinated decorations from Amazon. And the box with all the decorations -- from cake toppers to balloons -- was stolen the day before my son's birthday. Spent the whole day tracking down any balloon that would be similar. Found it at Balloon Saloon and Village Party store. I was about to order it for pickup online, and then I called the store to double check and ask them if they had other decorations. The lady who picked up said they'd have the bus balloon ready for me for pick up and that I should come look at all their cake toppers and streamers. I get into the store -- they don't have the balloon ready, they don't have any other bus themed items, they find another "back-to-school" bus -- but only 1. And by this point it is way too late to go to Balloon Saloon and I only 1 small not very cute balloon for my son's birthday. They were like, "then don't buy it." So I would have no decorations for my son's birthday. The only reason I even gave a star is one of the men was very nice and seemed to realize it sux that it's not the correct one, they gave me $2 off the $15 incorrect balloon, and I left my phone and the guy brought it out to me. Plus I was the crazy screaming lady in the store by the end. Otherwise - it would have been 0! The store is the most disorganized thing in the world. read more

My wife and I bought a box of 72 Party Poppers - the little plastic bottles that are supposed to pop and eject serpentine streamers ($9 and change) along with other items for New year's eve When we got home, we tested three bottles to make sure they worked. Two of them popped, but did not open and one popped and the serpentines did not eject. We went back to get a refund but the store was adamant that the poppers were working fine even after trying one that failed. They refused to return the money or exchange for other items. My wife told them to keep the rest of the useless poppers and walked out... We'd been going Village Party Store, and the previous shop on Greenwich Avenue, for many years and spend good money there trying to support small businesses. But this was very disappointing and disgraceful on their part and we will no longer go there, or refer them to friends, but instead we'll spend our money at Party City. read more

They have a huge selection and you're able to select the arrival date and time. They made it to Brooklyn within a few hours. I was also really appreciative of the helpful and friendly staff. I purchased 5 Megaloon Letters (plus weights), which are pretty sizable balloons. I went in to pick up and the guy who gathered the balloons asked if it was just me and I said yes and my car is right outside. Instead of any offer to help I was surprised when cautioned, 'be careful. These balloons are in good shape. We're not responsible for any damage when you walk out the door.' None of this may sound unreasonable if I hadn't previously picked up Megaloon Letters from Balloon Saloon, who'd carefully packaged the balloons AND helped me load into my car sans any tacky disclaimer. I bought a large balloon here and it cost $25 (with helium). I think the smaller balloons were $2-3 (without helium) but the cost of pumping helium into the balloons is typically the same price as the balloon itself! I even had to buy the weight separately. Most balloon prices are not visible or clear so I had to ask about each type separately (with and without helium). I also bought a pack of name tag stickers for almost $10. They aren't even nice to customers. I overheard them making fun of an elderly lady who didn't want to spend $5 on a card because she was too 'old'. It may be true that the elderly can be frugal but that's the customers choice and they should be allowed to choose what they buy without judgment. This store is a ripoff! The only reason why they get away with it is lack of current choices for party supplies. read more

Until I got fed up with the high prices and the fact that you have to throw away the tank after using. What a waste, especially given my history as a quasi tree hugger. They're compact to carry out, durable, able to fill up hundreds of balloons, and **cost a lot less than the pink trash you'll find at Party City. I needed a mask for a masquerade so I came here after a yelp search. They have a huge variety of masks, ranging from $2.99 up to $39.99. Most of the masks were in pretty bad condition, they were either scratched or the glitter or colors came off. I also don't like how they have a no refund and no exchange policy...
