To some degree I understand that many retailers are tighter on inventory to reduce how much needs to be sold at deeper discounts after certain holidays are over. However this also means certain things run out and there's no selection left which could also mean lost sales, which was the case when I came to look for a couple Christmas-related products a week before Christmas and much of that section looked decimated outside of wrapping paper, kitchen/dining supplies, some decorations and wearable accessories. They were already setting up for Valentine's Day. Walking around the store, I still appreciated that this location is still around, it's been a while since I've visited so I was glad to see still a strong selection of frames, scrapbooking supplies, paints, yarns and ribbons/trimmings. They also installed more self-service checkout machines. The shopping stop wasn't altogether unfruitful in that I picked up a pack of baked goods boxes (to place home-made cookies/pastries inside before gifting to others). I'm glad I did because after a few random lefts and rights, I stumbled upon a colorful array of silk scarves and fabrics. I looked up and saw a sign that red "Mandala Tibetan Store." I walked in and was immediately greeted with a warm hello and smile. I stated that I walked in out of curiosity and wasn't quite sure what I was looking for. He invited me to take a look and let him know if I had any questions. Everything in the store was so interesting but what really caught my eye was this off-white backpack made of hemp. My dad used to be a hippie back in his early days and for some reason, I immediately thought of him and felt like he would enjoy it. He's become an avid photographer and I pictured him carrying around his camera gear it and a couple of fruits as he embarks on his photo adventures. The owner told me that it was handmade and was actually made in Nepal. Wow, how cool! I was tempted to buy another for myself but decided to simply get one for now. When I handed it to my dad in a few days later, he absolutely loved it! I'm thankful to this store for introducing me to Tibetan culture. I met so many other awesome alumni there. It was about 15 of us total . The experience was BEYOND AMAZING. The space is huge, with a variety of all types of clothing and accessories. The clothing can be rented for plays etc. Majority of the clothing are donated, by Broadway show productions. ITS SO MUCH TO SEE AND CHOOSE FROM. The lovely people running it were AMAZING. They were fun, while being very informative. I even got to see a piece Ariana Grande wore in a skit from SNL in 2024. I'm beyond honored to still be remembered, and invited to this event. I'm glad I still love and pursue theater. If ever you are interested in visiting, they are open weekdays. Stop by, it's definitely an experience.
