I am trying to come up with the words to explain how inappropriate this felt to see these words right behind the reception desk. We are Jewish. The word Christ means savior. Jesus is not my savior. I respect religion and the right to personal beliefs. I do not want religion mixed in with my daughter's strep test. When I was still thinking about this the next day, I called the office to let them know I found this offensive. The staff doctor I spoke to said that staff is "allowed to believe in God" and that I was making an issue where there isn't one. I disagree with that assessment but do agree that I am free to take my children to a pediatric practice where religion is left out of the equation. read more

My daughter has been a patient here since she was born, but today August 15th 2025, I find it difficult to not leave a review, it is very unsettling that you guys have patients waiting in exam rooms for a long period of time, and all you hear outside the room is laughter and joking around, meanwhile we're waiting, very unprofessional work place behavior. How can you be a medical service provider's office, and the staff is behaving in this manor while we are in the room, waiting for those very people to provide a service. Very disappointed. read more

Dr. Sessions was an absolutely amazing, compassionate doctor but she is now gone. She was the only reason we stayed with the practice, so we will be leaving now too. The front desk staff is rude and would never wear masks properly even at the height of the pandemic. Communication skills do not exist here and it was a frustrating experience to make an appointment, let alone have urgent medical questions answered or medications approved. I cannot comment on the quality of the other doctors at this practice (although do note that most of them have not been there long) but cannot recommend this practice to any parent right now. read more

Wonderful practice! First off the clinic graciously was able to see our newborn right away when she was born since we had to scram to find a doctor and make an appointment while in the hospital. We started with dr. McGowan who has a great personality, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient as we are first time parents. As we continued our child's care in the clinic, it was difficult at times to get an appointment with dr. McGowan so we ended up seeing other providers like dr. Bellevue and dr. Hughes. Both doctors were just as amazing! Dr. Bellevue was very thorough in catching our child's leg length discrepancy and referred us to an ortho and dr. Hughes is so caring and follows up with us regarding our child! She calls us back pretty quickly. As you can see you can't go wrong with any of the doctors here. There were some long wait time issues before and there was a one time an issue/confusion with an appointment we made but it was fixed right away and it is definitely getting better recently. The front desk staff has never been a problem with me and I found a lot of them to be friendly and helpful. When my baby was sick and had a fever they were able to get me seen by dr. Hughes the same day. Also love that they have a parking garage! read more

Dr McGowan is simply the Best. Her staff is amazing. My son has Asthma as well as allergies. She has always been so responsive. Always follows up when he is sick. Our experience was that this practice is not very competent and the customer service is extremely lacking. We recently relocated from LA and sent them both of our children's medical records and filled out the paperwork to make sure we had a practice for when something came up. We had also taken our son for a school physical upon arrival to NY. My daughter had an ear ache on Sunday afternoon, so we called their doctor on call service. After two calls to their service, we received a call 2.5 hours later from a nurse who was less than helpful and told me I could take her in the next morning. When I called in the morning they couldn't locate the records, so I sent them again and confirmed in writing that they had everything they needed for her to be seen at 10:30am and they said yes. They then called me at 10:20 saying they couldn't see her because they couldn't open the medical records and didn't have enough information to see her. When I said but you confirmed in writing, they said yes, we know but we hadn't looked at the documents. read more

I came to this practice for 5 years with all 3 of my kids since they were born. We saw Dr. Sessions and she was amazing. We also saw some of the other doctors when she was not available and would say they were all very good. I'd give 5 stars if this review were just for the doctors, but the front office staff is awful. They make it very difficult to make appointments and are not even friendly or kind when talking to you. I've experienced staff rolling their eyes at me just for asking for school paperwork to be signed. The extremely rude front office staff would be why I would tell all parents to go to another practice where they will at least treat you like a person and not a nuisance. This practice has gone down hill since I started coming here years ago . I absolutely loved Dr Sessions but now that she has left I will not continue going here . The front Staff is terrible, they put you on hold and never come back . You make appointments and then your appointment is not there when you show up. They will try sending you bills for services you do not owe. Now that I have gone elsewhere i can not get them to forward my records to the new doctor's office . read more

I was looking to change Pediatricians to a place closer to my home. I went to meet Dr. Heather McGowan for a consultation before I made the switch. My appointment was at 4:30 which is the latest time I could get. I waited for an hour before I gave up and left. A pediatrician should know how valuable a free hour is to any mother. So to waste an hour of a potential patient's time unnecessarily is cruel. It was avoidable as they were down a doctor who had called in sick. If they knew they were down a doctor, they should have called their patients and asked to reschedule which is a lot less cruel then having them wait for over an hour. I will say this was not a complete waste of an hour. I was able to speak with some other patients also waiting in the waiting room who were not thrilled with the practice. The doctors are okay, the staff is horrible, no follow up and wait times (which is a function of organization and consideration) are typically long were the feedback I got. I am glad that I went in now and figured out how bad the practice was before I took three children there. I could not imagine having to wait in a waiting room full of sick kids with two toddlers and a new born. read more

This is the only pediatric practice I've dealt with as I have one child. I've been taking my son here since he was a newborn, a little over a year. Wait times are over an hour typically, but they will see you same day if baby is running a fever or otherwise needs to be seen right away. Considering switching practices due to wait times and poor followup on phone messages left w/the office. Positives: Being seen same day; messages left after hours for dr. are returned promptly, Sat. office hours. read more

It's too bad about the wait time. It's true. The trick is to get the first available if possible - either in the AM or right after lunch. Even then, you will have to count on waiting. HOWEVER THAT SAID - I love Dr. Heather McGowan. She is the only reason why I would wait (much as it kills me). Because she doesn't rush you, and she listens. We share the same philosophy which is about allowing your body to heal and not be too alarmist about life. She is open to new ideas and very supportive. She doesn't frown or make judgments and make you feel bad about your choices. In fact, she works with you as much as you can. She is very respectful and I really love taht about her. I have two kids and she is my fourth pediatrician and I'm glad I found her. Everyone else before were either dismissive, holier than thou or made you feel bad if you asked too many questions. UPDATE Since I wrote this review I have brought my daughters in to see Dr. Cinnante as well. She is wonderful and extremely caring, taking the time to listen to you and work with you. She even follows up with you on issues pro-actively which is unheard of today. She makes me and my children feel like human beings, rather than a record in their customer database. She doesn't give any suggestion when it seems like all hope is lost. And therefore I lost hope here. They are too busy and don't need any business! I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews. We've interacted with Dr. Sessions and Dr. McGowan (sorry if I'm butchering the name)- both Doctors were lovely. Dr. Sessions is sweet, kind and patient. Dr. McGowan had to draw blood from our newborn and was a total pro- finding the vein within seconds. We don't have experience with any other Dr. in this practice. The staff was pretty friendly too, and booking an appointment has been seamless. We've switched pediatricians twice with our oldest, I'd say we are pretty picky and I couldn't recommend this practice more. read more

I've been taking my daughter to Village Pediatrics since I changed her from a city doctor in 2007. Dr. McGowan was absolutely great! Then fast forward, I had my son in 2014 and thought it would be a no-brainer to use the same office. Well since Dr. McGowan is in high demand (as she should be because she is that good), I started to go to Dr. Chu. Well, what a mistake that has been. Nothing about Dr. Chu is thorough! She gives me so much push back and I find my visits with her to be a complete waste of time. I have stories that would scare any parent away however because Dr. McGowan is such a great doctor, I will reframe from posting it. The moral of the story is if you select this facility, then please spare yourself the trouble and just go to McGowan! read more

The Practice's facility in Tuckahoe is modern, efficient (separate waiting areas for sick or well children), warm, visually pleasing, not to mention centrally located with excellent free parking. Dr. McGowan is the best Pediatrician I have ever come in contact with. She is smart, always on top of the newest technology and well informed about what is going on in the community re: illnesses. Dr. McGowan is not a mom herself but she definitely makes you feel comfortable talking to her about any topic. She listens, gives advice and all around great person. I met Dr. McGowan before I even gave birth to my daughter, the amount of time she took to go over my "new mom fears" was so appreciated. Dr. McGowan was not affiliated with the hospital where I delivered but she came to check my daughter out just for courtesy. My daughter was allergic to the formula she was first on and Dr. McGowan supplied her very expensive formula to us for the first 6 months of my daughters life. If I had to choose a pediatrician, Dr. McGowan is the one. However, her office staff is another story. Not her nurses, they are wonderful, sweet, patient and kind. I'm referring to her front desk help and billing department. I'm recently divorced, let's just say my business spread around that office like wildfire. Everyone in the office, including my daughter's pediatrician was aware of my divorce before I even had the chance to mention it. To make matters worse, I am now in a same sex relationship and although Dr. McGowan and her nurses never made us feel uncomfortable when myself and my partner brought my daughter in for a check up, her front desk staff made us feel so uncomfortable and not welcome. Dr. McGowan services other same sex families and the front desk staff was equally rude to them, very unprofessional. Not an environment that I want my daughter and future children to experience, there's enough hate in the world. If you can overlook the ignorant, rude front desk workers then seeing Dr. McGowan is absolutely worth it. I wish Dr. McGowan would start her own practice closer to my home, not in Westchester. read more

Been a patient at VPG for a couple years now, and have mixed reviews. On one hand, Dr. McGowan is a first-class doctor who I very much enjoyed visiting. She was excellent with her patients and seemingly took the time to get to know them and diagnose them. She's a brilliant individual and it really shows through her interactions with her patients. On the other hand, on my most recent visit I was sent to Dr. Sessions, and it may have tarnished the great reputation that I believed VPG upheld. When I visited her, she was incredibly rude and dismissive, my visit felt incredibly rushed and she gave me 5 minutes of her time. She essentially told me that she could do nothing for me, and would not take the time to explain the following steps to take concerning my health. As a young individual trying to navigate the confusing world of health care and treatments - I expect a doctor to be someone I can confide in and offer help to understand how to go about receiving the necessary treatment. After my appointment with Dr. Session, I am disappointed to say that I am all the more confused, and was given little to no guidance on how to pursue further help. read more

Dr. Braier is amazing and the only reason I survived my first year of parenthood! She is so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. When my triplets was prematurely born back in 2009, I knew I need it to find the right pediatrician, to help us with this very difficult journey, full of challenges that comes with high risk premature babies. I came across some recommendations from close friends and very glad that I went to meet Dr Braier. Village Pediatric Group, showed me to be very reliable, efficient and putting the best interest of my children ahead to bureaucratic difficult, always providing the best information to my husband and I . My children always had the best medical care, in a loving and caring way. Today at age of 3 my triplets can't wait to see Dr Braier (or as they call her Dr Flyer). The doctors here are really wonderful. Dr. Braier, Cinnante and McGowan are wonderful with kids and good at keeping parents calm, too. Unfortunately, the office management is terrible. On 6 separate occasions, we've been made to wait for an hour at least after showing up for our appointment time on time. This includes two appointments for pre-operative sign off. So in addition to the stress of trying to prepare for surgery for a toddler, we had to deal with waiting an hour to be seen with no communication about the delay. And the fact that it happens repeatedly is because they simply don't care about the impact on their patients. It's a shame because the physicians themselves are wonderful. I'm sorry to say that after so many repeated and lengthy delays with no effort on their part to solve a chronic problem with their practice management that we're going to have to look elsewhere. I'd recommend that anyone considering them choose another practice until they get their scheduling problems under control. You and your child will suffer if you don't. read more

As an older mom of twins, I was very careful to research pediatric groups before choosing a doctor. Unfortunately, my first choice was (at best) a condescending person who thought physician equalled God. Thankfully, I was recommended to Dr. McGowan. She is wonderful with the kids, takes the time to listen to and respond to all my questions, and helps with landmarks of what to look forward to. Call backs occur in a timely basis and I haven't experienced the significant wait times described by other patients. Emergency visits are promptly accommodated. Cons? The front office isn't as professional as they could be, and there is a dr on staff who is new and has a habit of sending patients on wild goose chases in pursuit of unneeded medical tests and prescriptions, despite the advice of more tenured Drs. Stick with Dr. McGowan, and you'll be fine. read more

Started with this practice several years ago when my child was born, and was pleased for the first few years. The doctors seemed competent and helpful. I felt that the healthcare and advice we were receiving was sound. However, perhaps as the practice grew larger - things changed dramatically. The service has really diminished over the past few years. Current staff is unfriendly, sometimes even rude. It became very difficult to get an appointment. The wait times in the office are unacceptable, and they're completely unapologetic about it. Its a shame they don't realize that patients will make another choice if they are not treated with respect. Despite still feeling a bit of loyalty towards our doctor there, I am strongly considering finding another pediatrician for my child. read more

I have read the other reviews and I don't know about their experiences but Dr. McGowan has been my children's pediatrician for well over 10 years. As with any Dr's office you have to wait. I have never had a problem at all with the Dr. She is wonderful and great with the kids. Very patient and doesn't rush you out when you have questions. I just wanted to share the terrible experience I recently HAD with Dr. cinnante at the village pediatric group. My son had developed a cold with a cough and even though I tried to make him get better and improve with over the counter medications, nothing helped. In fact he started developing high fever. I do not have insurance for me or my kids at the moment but I felt that it was time for him to be started on an antibiotic since the infection he currently has is most definitely bacterial. I called the above office and was told I can bring my son in at 3:30 pm. When I got to the office we were called in on time. Once in the room we waited for about 30 min before he was seen. When the doctor came in I gave her all the information about my son's condition. She did a strep throat and a flu tests. Supposedly both were negative. It took about 30-40 to wait for the results. The wait was long but that did not aggravate me as much as what unfolded 2 days later. During the exam the doctor had told me that my son should start feeling better and fever free within 24 hours of starting the antibiotic( Amoxicillin-paid 25.00 dollars). If he did not she told me to call her. The above visit took place Monday 3:30-5:00 pm. I picked up the prescribed antibiotic that same evening. The next two days and especially nights were terrible for my son and especially me. He would not stop coughing and constantly had high fever. I layed next to him and tried to make him feel better. Had to give him antipyretic at least twice through the night. Wednesday at about 12:30 pm I called above office and left my first message with the receptionist that my son is not feeling better even though he is taking the Amoxicillin. I asked for a call back. Receptionist took my number and told me doctor will call me back. Second time I called at 3:30 pm leaving the same message asking for a different medication to be called in. Again was told doctor is with patients and will call me later. At 4:30 pm was my third call into the office,30 minutes before their closing time, making sure that something was done before the end of their day. Thinking that they did what they were supposed to do I went to my pharmacy looking for a new antibiotic to pick up. To my surprise and disbelief nothing was called in and despite of the three messages Dr.Cinnanti did not call me back. I called the answering service while at the pharmacy and after about 10 minutes the MD was on the phone. I told her my son is not feeling better. Reminded her that I do not have insurance currently. In addition informed that Clarithromycin has helped my son in the past and would like for her to prescribe same. Md said she is not comfortable prescribing above as it has a lot of side effects. I am a RN and know very well what side effects all antibiotics have and that indeed all do have side effects without exception. After some arguing on the phone above pediatrician prescribes Augmentin which ended up costing 150.00 dollars. I was not willing to pay such a big amount of money so I called the answering service again so a cheaper antibiotic can be called in. Apparently Dr.Cinnanti had gotten aggravated and tired of talking to me so she was not even willing to talk to me. I ended up talking to Dr. McGowan (I may be misspelling her name) who stated will be calling in for my son Azithromycin(paid 40.00 dollars) which is weaker than the previously prescribed Amoxicillin. In conclusion between the visit last Monday and the two prescribed antibiotics I paid $ 165.00 total all in vain. My son is still sick and coughing and I will have to take him to a different pediatrician. I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE AT VILLAGE PEDIATRICS.THERE IS A LONG WAIT.PHONE CALLS ARE NOT BEING RETURNED EVEN AFTER 3 OR MORE MESSAGES ARE LEFT.DOCTORS ARE NOT KNOWLEDGABLE AND DO NOT PROVIDE ACCURATE AND PROFFECIONAL DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPY.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ABOVE OFFICE FOR ANYONE TO USE FOR THEIR CHILD. read more

I recently switched my children to this pediatric clinic because I have seen good reviews about it online. The first visit was about a month ago and it was great. They were friendly, fast and courteous. However, my daughtyer recently fractured her arm and I called in to have a doctor call me bacn and possibly refer me to an Orthopedic doctor. I spoke to Dr. Florencia Braier and she was so nasty! She spoke over me. She cut me off in the middle of me sentences. She wasn't not at all pleasant to deal with. I was appalled at the fact she was even a doctor in that facility. I wanted to make sure I had her name, so I asked her, hey are you a doctor, she then replied " Like I said at the beginning of the call" , I couldn't believe how nasty she was. I told her she had the nastiest attitude ever for a "doctor", which then proceeded with her hanging up the phone on me... EXTREMELY unprofessional attitude. read more

My husband and I were looking for a pediatrician before our first baby was born. We met with Dr. Cinnante, who was very nice. However, due to timing with the baby's birth, our first appointment was unfortunately with Dr. Braier. As first time parents, she did nothing to relieve our concerns or answer any questions. She instead told us we were endangering our child's life by trying, continually announced to us that we shouldn't ask any questions because she had 22 years of experience, and slammed the door to the room. She was extremely nasty, and actually terrified me to the point of tears that there was something the matter with my 4 day old baby. We followed up our visit with a trip to the ER because of her fearmongering, where it turned out our baby was perfectly healthy and developing normally. When we returned to the office for a weight check, no one even mentioned our interaction with Dr. Braier, or followed up on the hospital trip. Needless to say, we switched pediatricians and are much happier now. read more

If I could give this office less than 1 star I would. The first time I took my elder son here the visit was fine, the second time my husband took my younger child when he was ill and said what a horrible experience it was. I thought he was exaggerating since he tends to be quite impatience but after today's visit I will say without a doubt this doctor's office is awful. The staff is completely unprofessional and showed no care nor could they even speak politely to the patrons there. I waited over an hour with no apologies only to be seen by Dr. Braier who had zero warmth. She asked me absolutely nothing about my child nor told me no information about the vaccine he would be receiving only if I wanted a sheet of paper to read about it myself. I heard her speaking on the phone to the mother of another patient and like another reviewer was appalled by her nastiness. I have no idea how the other 2 doctors are but based off of this experience I will not be giving either of them a try. I would take Urgent Care to this office any day of the week. read more
