We love Dr. Phil! He is great with our dog who hates going to the vet. He spends as much time as needed with each patient -really explaining everything in detail. He's sensible, which is hard to come by nowadays. The staff are also great people. Efficient and friendly. Dr Phil is also great with my 12 year old cat who cries & sheds the entire visit. Started bringing my dogs to this practice when it was under Dr B, and it was fantastic. Genuinely tried to like the new people despite an incredibly rude and condescending first impression with the new vet "Phil." The previous Office Manager and Vet Techs were incredible people. Unfortunately the new staff have joined lockstep with the current practice of incompetence, upselling, negligence, and pathetic attempts at communication. I should have payed more attention to the warning signs in May 2020. In less than a year Phil has destroyed what was a community loved, and well respected practice. Take your pets, and your money somewhere that values you for being more than an income. read more

I have so many good things to say about Dr. Phil and Village Pet Clinic. My family and I switched our two dogs to Dr. Phil after we had a horrible experience at our previous vet (VCA hospital do not recommend). One visit in and it was already apparent that Dr. Phil is knowledgeable and very good with animals. The office is clean and the staff are all very friendly. I'm happy we found a vet that actually cares about the pets and their owners. Plus Wilbur the office dog is the fluffiest and goodest boy you'll ever meet. We are full time RVers and it took a few phone calls to find an office willing to see our two small dogs. Boy, were we lucky to find Village Animal Clinic! Dealing with Christie on the phone was easy and she couldn't have been nicer. She was the same in person today, as was the rest of the staff. The techs were wonderful with both of our dogs (Stanley is mostly Chihuahua and does not enjoy having his nails clipped or getting vaccination shots!) and Dr. Phil was icing on the cake. We've had good and not-so-good experiences being guardians the last 20 years, and this crew is definitely at the top of our list of favorite vets. They obviously care about animals, as well as humans, and they are very knowledgeable and so good about sharing information in a professional and friendly way. I can't give Village Pet Clinic a high enough rating on how I feel about the care they provided for my dog. The receptionist was able to get Bandit in very quickly to remedy a slight inflammation in his eyes. The Vet was very gentle with his examination of Bandit's eyes, and even checked him out in other ways. What was more impressive was the way the clinic "went above and beyond" the norm to make sure Bandit was treated properly and was on his way to having a complete recovery, with a reasonable cost. We are so glad that the Humane Society told us to call Dr. Phil at the Village Animal Clinic. He is fantastic! Our dog wouldn't eat, was vomiting water, and had bloody stool. Dr. Phil and his team started treating her for hemorrhagic gastroenteritis by giving her three shots, an anti-diarrhea and antacid prescriptions, 6 cans of easy-to-digest dog food, and instructions to bring her back the next day for intravenous fluids if she did not eat that night. She didn't eat so we returned the next day. He gave her the fluids and did blood work to make sure that he hadn't overlooked anything. He restored our dog to perfect health! You can't get a better vet. He explained everything to us and showed that he really cared. read more

I travelled with my dog from Alaska-(a long way to go to find warm weather). My dog started limping shortly after I got to Florida, I called the Village Animal Clinic and they very quickly worked my dog into their schedule. Problem was diagnosed and treated, effectively I might add. The service from the receptionist, to the nurse assistant to the Doctor was exceptional. My dog was treated with tender care. Dr. Basabe even had his staff telephone me later in the day and again several days later to inquire about the patient. I took my dog back for a follow-up visit and he got a clean bill of health.
