As for me, I drove my wife 35+ miles to shop at this twee little place that had a "three customers only" Covid admission note. As my wife and I stepped in, a staffer said that one of us would have to stay outside. I went back to sit in the car. Nobody else arrived or left. Just then a middle-aged lady arrived, went inside, and was apparently asked to stay outside. A few seconds later a staffer bobbed her head out and invited the lady in. Apparently the "three customers only" rule is in force only if you are male. Or somebody mysteriously dematerialized. I won't be coming back. By the way, this experience is like one we had at a fabric joint in Occoquan, VA, run by a jittery woman. So I'm done venturing into fabric stores with my wife.

I am new to sewing and come in seeking guidance on fabric selection and product education, yet nearly every visit is met with dismissive or rude customer service. The older representatives in particular often do not greet me and respond reluctantly or faintly when I ask for assistance. Help is provided, but it often feels like an inconvenience unless they are in the mood. Yesterday, when I asked a representative at the fabric counter for help understanding a product, she was short-tempered and instead told me they were closing at 5:15 p.m., despite the website listing a 7:30 p.m. closing time. The interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and disrespectful. At checkout, I asked for a bag for several small tools and fabric. The cashier said they were running low, and etc and tossed the bag at me. This type of behavior has happened on multiple visits and consistently dampens the experience. I truly wanted to like this store, but the repeated lack of basic courtesy--especially toward newer customers--has made me unwilling to return. I hope management takes these ongoing customer service issues seriously.

There a large windows so the lighting is perfect for seeing true colors. I have always been greeted when I walk through the door. There are a lot of employees but I didn't feel pressured or rushed to make a selection. On the contrary, as I was auditioning a couple of options I had multiple employees walk over and give my choices a "look" and they offered their opinions, which I found helpful. Amy is a COMPLETE GEM. Her classes are so worthd taking. The other huge plus is that she has an educational YouTube page where she posts many videos to continue your education from the shop to your home. Every time I have shopped in the past, I've been told that nothing in the remnant box is over $4.99 a yard. But, the woman insisted that it was still $8.99 a yard and she didn't know how that piece got in the remnant box. OK... Shady AF...No sale! Had she done the right thing, she would've made a very large sale because I needed fabric for multiple projects. Instead, I went to the Fabric Basement in Alexandria and was treated very fairly and got some quality fabrics. I do miss the previous owner, rest in peace, because he was a very honorable and my family frequented this store for about 40 years with no issues.
