As for me, I drove my wife 35+ miles to shop at this twee little place that had a "three customers only" Covid admission note. As my wife and I stepped in, a staffer said that one of us would have to stay outside. I went back to sit in the car. Nobody else arrived or left. Just then a middle-aged lady arrived, went inside, and was apparently asked to stay outside. A few seconds later a staffer bobbed her head out and invited the lady in. Apparently the "three customers only" rule is in force only if you are male. Or somebody mysteriously dematerialized. I won't be coming back. By the way, this experience is like one we had at a fabric joint in Occoquan, VA, run by a jittery woman. So I'm done venturing into fabric stores with my wife.

There a large windows so the lighting is perfect for seeing true colors. I have always been greeted when I walk through the door. On the contrary, as I was auditioning a couple of options I had multiple employees walk over and give my choices a "look" and they offered their opinions, which I found helpful. Amy is a COMPLETE GEM. Her classes are so worthd taking. The other huge plus is that she has an educational YouTube page where she posts many videos to continue your education from the shop to your home. So I stopped in during my lunch break on a mission to find just the right fabric for a wedding quilt I'm sewing for a dear family member. This shop is really, really cute! They carry mostly modern fabrics, plus a ton of knitting/crocheting supplies. In the back is a classroom area, and they have lots of project samples, notions, and one of the best selection of sewing books I've seen. The best news is: I found the perfect fabric for the wedding quilt! And I had just enough space in my suitcase to get it home and start cutting. Highly recommend this little shop if you're in the area and on a hunt for some new fabric!

My Fiber Arts group went together on a "field trip" to explore. They have all kinds of fabrics, kits, & curated bundles of fat quarters for quilting. Everything is so well thought out, presented, and displayed. I know a bunch of my friends who are going to want to move in & "live" there. It is around in the rear of a shopping center, so as you turn in from Benfield Rd, go all the way back past the string if restaurants and stores and around the rear corner. Every time I have shopped in the past, I've been told that nothing in the remnant box is over $4.99 a yard. But, the woman insisted that it was still $8.99 a yard and she didn't know how that piece got in the remnant box. OK... Shady AF...No sale! Had she done the right thing, she would've made a very large sale because I needed fabric for multiple projects. Instead, I went to the Fabric Basement in Alexandria and was treated very fairly and got some quality fabrics. I do miss the previous owner, rest in peace, because he was a very honorable and my family frequented this store for about 40 years with no issues.
