I was abused and yelled at by their attorney with implications of racial slurs. If I had responded in kind, it could have become an incredibly volatile situation He seemed to feel it was ok to yell, insult, interrupt and verbally assault a client. My dignity and humanity was brutally violated. And the reason he became so irate was because he overheard me telling the Maryland tax office that he was being uncooperative and not helpful, which was absolutely true. Instead of trying to assist me, he became abusive. Not once did I yell back. He was rude, unprofessional, screamed at me while I was on the phone with my real estate agent. On top of that, his accounting was incorrect and I had to go over the documents with a fine tooth comb or I would have lost money due to his inaccuracy. It was all I could do to not walk out and yell back at him but as a mature adult I needed to complete the process. I had to deal with him like a child having a tantrum to get through it despite the inexcusable assault on my dignity. The abuse was unacceptable and the clear evidence of racial discrimination and prejudice is unconscionable. I would never use them again and highly urge potential customers to avoid them at all costs and find a different settlement company. I have purchased and sold over 6 homes in the past 20 years, not once have I encountered behavior so outrageous. read more

A little bit of a mixed review, but overall positive. Admittedly, I came into the purchase not really knowing what a title company does, and probably only have slightly more insight after the fact. That said, felt like in the initial stages there was a lot of attention paid to our offer and some of the potential pitfalls. However, there was not as much communication throughout the process, which was difficult because of my lack of understanding of their role - I felt like I was feeding Village information and updates without knowing what they needed or didn't need from me. All told, everything was organized and certainly not an impediment to our purchase, just wish I had a little more guidance throughout the process. read more

!!!!!!!HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE!!!!! I have closed on several properties throughout DMV areas over the years. Village Settlements is BY FAR the worst I have ever seen. No HUD-1 was provided until couple days before the closing, they could not meet the settlement deadline due to their lack of communication with the seller's creditors, EXTREMELY UNREASONABLE charges by services they do not provide, lack of communication is at its peak. I cannot recommend you a title company to work with but I can assure you Village Title will NOT make things easier for you. I am surprised how they are in business. read more

BEWARE!!!!!! When using this title company. They are not professional and do not keep their word. My husband and I used them based on a recommendation from a reliable friend in the mortgage business. She has used them on multiple occasions and never had any issues. Our transaction involved my mother-in- law who is 83 year old, and partially disabled My husband asked them if they had a mobile closing person who could come to the house for us to sign our paperwork.. We were told they did not have a mobile person for the DC area; however, if we found someone we could use them. My husband asked them this questions three weeks before our settlement date. Two days before we go to settlement, they called and refused to use the person he found. My husband explained once again, my mother in law is not very mobile and uses a wheelchair. They did not care. We contacted Navy Federal (our lender) and they could not understand why they were being completely unreasonable. Our interest rate was locked in place and unfortunately we could not push our date back. We had to take her to their location. She was in severe pain and very uncomfortable. These people don't know the first thing about Customer Service, and I will never recommend them to anyone. read more
