Shoe after repair
Sydney B.

Fastest service around and won't break the bank! I wore my Doc Martens so much that the sign-of-loving-wear crease on top of my shoe turned into a "please-get-me-fixed" hole. Seeing as I wear these shoes a solid 70% of the time, I couldn't wait three weeks for other shops to patch them up. I was able to walk out of Village Shoe Repair with my repaired shoes within an hour of dropping them off. And a leather patch only cost $10! Now, I know it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing repair, but it got the job done (keeping water out and preventing further damage) for a very low price so I was satisfied. For quick fixes, I'll definitely be returning.

Before the repair

I don't even know when and how my heels became like this but had to repair them asap, and this shoe repair store was the closest one near my place. The guy didn't only repair the left shoe but also changed the right shoe so that they match in terms of colors and height. Fyi, he took less than 5 mins to repair my shoes and it costs $15+tax!

Left : repair of broken strap Right: original strap CAN'T REALLY TELL THE DIFFERENCE!? :)

I had read the reviews here that the proprietor can be a little gruff, so I was prepared - but he was just curt, not mean.

I have sent several pairs of boots to Dave Page and all came back like new. Excellent craftsmanship…read moreand care. Sadly Dave is closed for good now and I will miss him. I would recommend him to anyone.

I've had several contacts with Dave Page. You will get unvarnished truth, boot-wise, from him. If…read morehe tells you that your boots are not worth working on, they're not. When the frozen body that was suspected to have been that of early mountaineer Edmund Mallory (?) was found, having been on ice for the better part of a century, it was Mr. Page that was consulted to authenticate that the boots were of the right age. I brought a pair of custom-made boots to him, as they appeared to be falling apart way too soon. Mr. Page frowned at the boots, said he recognized the cobbler's work, and told me he wouldn't touch them. "Can't fix 'em," he said. "Take him to Small Claims Court. And if I do any work on them, it'll ruin your case." I took in a pair of Vasque boots, made by Red Wing, that was in need of resoling. "They're not worth resoling," he pronounced. I took his word for it. I ran into a guy in the Enchantments, had to be in his eighties, told me of the peaks within visual range that he'd done first climbs of, way back when. I didn't doubt him, he looked tough as he scrambled up the route from Colchuck to Asgard Pass with a lot more ease than I was. He asked me where I was from. "Seattle." "Really? Seattle? Do you know Dave Page? Wow--he lives in your town! How lucky you are!" Most recently, I took a relatively new pair of Cresta boots, sold by LLBean, just to see if Mr. Page approved. He hefted them, nodded in recognition. "I've been to the factory where these were made [I believe he said in Romania]. They do good work. You'll be very happy with these." You will likely receive gruffness, curtness, and the truth about your boots. Mr. Page does good work.
