The owner damaged my shoes. I saved for months to buy these Guidis, but he damaged the finish while resoling them. These boots have a special pink metallic finish that I am unsure of how to fix. The owner tried to cover up his mistake with shiny brown paint, which is ineffective. He offered a partial refund but that does not fix the problem. Very disappointed in paying about $52 and getting this as the result. Would rather go to Dave Page in Fremont. read more

Angel is honest about what is worth mending and does a great job. I like how straightforward he is and he answered all my questions. He's fixed a sole for a pair of high leather boots but refused to fix another pair because there wasn't enough leather so salvage and it couldn't be fixed. He also patched a pair of old cap toe boots that i love which will keep my feet dry for another season! His prices are great and I keep going back. I have a pair of nice (somewhat expensive) Italian-made chelsea boots and I went to see Angel because the leather soles had started to wear through and the heels were rapidly wearing away. Angel was just great. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and very clear about what different options I had to repair the boots. He replaced the heels and the front part of the main soles with rubber-- and while I was a bit skeptical that rubber would still look good on the boots, they ended up looking FANTASTIC! Angel obviously has a great attention to detail and really cares about the quality of his work. I am so happy with how my boots look now. I can't recommend Angel's Shoe Repair highly enough!! I have to leave a review about this shoe repair place. First of all it is under construction, but don't let deter you. I have a pair of boots that I love with a zipper that keeps getting stuck. The owner took a look at them and informed me that he doesn't do zippers; however, he had a trick for fixing the zipper at home... and it worked. His piece of advice save me $60-80 for a zipper replacement. It was a breath of fresh air to have such great customer service. I will definitely return if I have other shoe repairs. I took two pair of my daughter's treasured Value village best-find-ever Fry boots to Angel for resoling. She walks more than anyone I know and let the soles go far too long before getting them the attention they needed. they were almost beyond hope and required considerable structural repair above the sole to recreate enough healthy shoe to attach new soles to. She lives in Bellingham and has no "Angel equivalent" there so I brought them home and to Angel. I picked them up today and they look almost new and she is very excited to get them back in such excellent condition! He also polished them and removed scuffs in addition to the new soles, which we considered above and beyond the call of duty. Angel also stocks all the polish, laces, shoe goo and other maintenance items, too. My most recent visit was for restitching a Clark shoe that started coming apart, which he did while I waited. Plain amazing! Both craftsman ship, customer service, and price. First showed up after calling 5 minutes before with a broken zipper on a Tuesday when my bridal shower was Saturday. Every tailor said no way especially with the type of zipper (invisible) being broken. Not only did he immediately take and fix within a day but charged pennies. Then recently I had 7 pairs of custom flower girl shoes arrive that did not fit one girl. In a panic now 10 days away from wedding I ran down to ray. Not only did he take the work but literally did it in 15 minutes in front of me on the spot. 7 pairs of shoes!!! Again I showed up last minute with a reception drown that Toms Tailors gave me estimate of $200 to remove 6" of tulle. Again he out did himself. Highly recommend not only his work, but his customer service. He has been in non stop communication and has bent over backwards to accommodate my *sometimes* bridezilla-ish requests. I almost missed this place, because I didn't realize his shop is right next to Uncle Ike's, essentially under the same roof, don't pass by to quickly! I had 2 pairs of my favorite booties re-heeled. One of these pairs had required a similar repair about a year ago--it is SO obvious how much better of a job was done by Angel this time than I had done previously. The wooden portion of the heels, below the rubber heel, was so worn down that I didn't even think they would be repairable. I was also afraid, this being Seattle, that the shoe repair would be disgustingly costly, but to get both pairs fixed-up cost me only about $35. Since I brought them in a couple days before Thanksgiving, he did let me know that he was going to be closed for a few days to see family, but I didn't mind waiting. Maybe I caught Angel on day when he wasn't feeling so angelic, but I had a frustrating interaction with him. I went in intending to have him put some waterproof soles on some leather-soled flats I bought (this was on the advice of the shoe store), and first he basically told me I shouldn't wear the shoes in Seattle (which seems a bit impractical, since I live here), and then told me it was going to cost $40, which seemed steep. When I asked him why it was so expensive and politely questioned if it was the material which cost so much (which he had already told me he simply cuts to size and glues on, so it didn't seem as if it was going to take a lot of time-consuming labor), he got VERY snitty and basically told me to take my business elsewhere.
