Well Village Square tap house, it is a bar but it's a dang good place to hang out with friends. I think every weekend they have a live band either on Friday or Saturday night but we went to their Halloween party last week. LevelXperience was playing, which is an all-girls band and they were awesome! But they have two bars for service because they had recently bought the area beside them and now it's full of arcade games which are pretty fun as an adult after you've been drinking a bit. On one side they do have adult slushies. They have added more bathrooms and more pool tables, if you enter on the arcade side and they have a band you will need to pay an entrance fee. There's a local Dart group that competes each week and I know they have Super Bowl parties which includes food and prizes. The funny thing is, I asked the bartender on the arcade if they have Red Stripe, she said Yes, of course, it's been awhile since I've heard it called that!." Now she looked to be 24-28ish and bless her heart- she handed me a PBR. I looked at the bottle and was going to say something but hey, of course we all know PBR does have a red stripe in the label. But nonetheless, good prices and fun times. Plenty of people to sing along and dance with or play a round of pool. The Green Tea shots here are the best I've had anywhere. Plenty of parking and you are basically 10 feet away from the late night Taco Bell menu to help absorb the alcohol. If you're looking for a a quiet spot for a few minutes away from the music, they have an outdoor area to the right of the building, it is accessible without going inside first. You will have to show ID or your wristband at every entrance and the place is large enough to host a birthday party, a Friendsgiving get together or GNO, there's a hotel close by in case you go for their New Years Eve PARTY. A few of my friends and I actually had a hilarius Christmas photo shoot at VS Taphouse about 10 years ago. So good try a new cocktail for fall and get your pinball game on-Saturday and Sunday they open at 12 noon if you just want to take the kids to play a few old school arcade games. read more

Okay at best... decent draft list and can options but service is lackluster. Unless you are one of their regulars, don't expect much personality behind the bar. Pool and darts offered however dart boards and darts were in very rough shape. Didnt get a chance to play pool so i cant comment on those conditions. Would i come back? Just pasting what I texted the owner and general manager about my experience this evening. Good evening, I am a patron at Village Square Tap House tonight. I got this number from the bartender working at the front after my encounter with the security guard. I arrived early, and I opened a tab in the back. My friends (one male, one female) were playing pool. I set my empty glass on the edge, not realizing it was sloped, and it fell and shattered. My female friend went to the bar to say that there was some broken glass. The security guard whistled at her and handed her the broom, after the bartender said security would handle it. My friend and I had to clean up the broken glass on the ground. From my perspective, that seems like poor tactics from a health and safety standpoint. What if I missed some glass? I'm not willing for it to be my fault that someone else gets injured. I tried to close my tab at the back bar, and he attempted to charge me a cover even though I had been there for a while. The security guard said he was "in charge" and that this should happen "every time." I've never seen this man before, and I've never been halted from getting additional drinks. The bartender at the back seemed to agree that this was wrong for a customer, and she gave me a wristband. I'll be honest, I rolled my eyes when the security guard stopped me, and he later said that was the only reason he wanted to charge me (where's the consistency? He also didn't stop my friends at all?). He said I should get a lawyer because "nothing should happen if I hand you a broom", that he'd kick me out for discussing this with him, and that I would regret ruining my night. Additionally, my female friend refuses to come here herself, and she does not feel safe with the security on staff. She has had altercations every time she has been here, and security "sits on their ass" while she gets heckled and insulted. Update: one of the owners called me childish Second update: I was told my complaints were minor. Feel free to come if you want to pick up glass or be at risk of being cut on someone else's! Let's talk about positives first. The beer selection suits me. I also like the general feel of the place; it's not stuffy at all. But it can get a little loud in here, more so than you'd expect from what I first expected to be a relaxed neighborhood bar. What's disappointing though is the service. Not that it's consistently bad, but it gets that way pretty frequently. I often feel forgotten about by the staff. And even when they are taking orders and such, the bartenders are lifeless and unwelcoming. A bar like this should be exactly the opposite, or so I expect. Would it hurt for the help to say a nice word or two, maybe even converse a little? So what could be a cool place to hang out is instead just a mediocre experience, and that's a shame. read more

I was out with friends and we ended up here to hang out and have some drinks. It was busy as it was a Saturday night. We paid the $5 cover since there was a band about to start. The service at the bar was quick especially since the place was packed. We made our way towards the back of the business to a vacant table by the dart boards. We played several rounds of darts and then onto shoot pool. Both the dart boards and pool tables were in very nice condition. The band playing was very good. They played a mix of 80's and 90's covers but had a kind of punk/alternative twist to it. The crowd was mixed with twenty somethings to probably mid 60's people. Overall a nice place to spend a Saturday night. read more

First time visiting Village Square Tap House, and I can say that I am happy with this place. First of all, they don't serve food. That's usually a problem, especially since it is located in a shopping center where I found no food trucks. But I called and they said that we could bring food. That's a huge bonus, so I swung by a take-out place and got a sandwich. The beer menu is enormous, and it has a lot of interesting variety. They also have a wine and bourbon menu with a lot of the selections one would expect to find there. As far as features, things to do, they have pool tables, darts, and live music. So in terms of a classy, spacious, and well-lit place to go meet people or play a game, they have it all covered. The staff at the bar were friendly and punctual... what more can be said. read more

Went here to see this great band play. Love Matt Dylan and The HonkyTonk Outlaws. Did not expect a $10 per person cover charge which is sprung on you at the door because nowhere on the event post does it say cover charge. Now, at a bar you understand being stepped on, bumped into, and yes even a beer splash or spill for that matter. BUT NOT A THREESOME BASICALLY F**KING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! Spilled her drink on you, tongue in everyone's mouths and then jacking her dress up to her waist. Full panty view and I can tell you the color of her "carpet". GROSS!!!!! Report to security and was told sorry about the beer but we can't really do anything cause their on the dance floor. DANCE FLOOR? You mean the walkway from the bar to the exit door? Then why is security there. Go to the outdoor area and there they are going at it again plastered up against the railing right at the door. I'm telling you, if you want a great place for live music and a drink or two or three -- where you can feel welcomed and at ease -- GO ACROSS THE STREET TO Bodine's Bar and Jeffrey Tharington and his staff will treat you right. read more

We arrived in Mocksville on a Sunday night, and everything is pretty much closed on Sunday. We were looking for a sports bar to get a bite to eat and watch football. Headed out to the Village Square Tap House in Clemmons, about 20 mins away. It's tucked back in a plaza with plenty of parking. The decor and atmosphere is good! Good beer selection. I'm not a beer drinker so I got some Watermelon Cider. Very tasty. Lots of TV's and seating. My only "complaint" (and it's not really a complaint) is they don't have a kitchen. We were surprised. The owners do bring in food for football Sunday, but we arrived too late for that. One of the "regulars" brought in some pretzels and beer cheese dip and offered us some. So thoughtful! Owners are nice. They suggested a pizza place down the road so we stopped and grabbed a pizza. We'd stop in again if we every get back that way. read more

The bartenders are rude and arrogant. you will stand their and wait and wait and wait and then when their friends walk up they serve them before they serve you even though you were clearly standing their way before they walked up. especially the bar tender with all the piercings in her face. nasty attitude, disrespectful to her customers and nasty looking with all those holes in her face. clearly this place does not give a crap about their customers. read more

Surprised to find a clean, well lit neighborhood bar in a strip mall behind the ABC Store and next to the K Mart. No food but the pizza delivery guy just came in. Had a couple craft cocktails. Maple Old Fashioned was a bit sweet for my taste but I asked for it. Harvest Apple Mule was lime forward with just a hint of ginger and the applejack wasn't discernable. Probably safest to stick with the beer. It is a "tap house" after all! read more

The bar is an awesome atmosphere! Great games, live music, and drinks. The bartenders on the other hand... some of the rudest service I've ever encountered. I understand you get busy from time to time and that can impact your customer service- but EVERY time we go to this bar, the bartenders are extremely unfriendly and unpleasant. They do not speak to you, much less approach you with welcoming customer service. Long story short, I will not be back! read more

Great place. Nice atmosphere, roomy, clean and friendly and a great selection of liquors and beers. I drink wine, so I take some exception to their website's claim of an "extensive " wine list. There were 12 choices and I found a red that was good enough. They like to crank the music and play a variety from heavy metal to country. We had found this place after looking for a new place for happy hour. We had been there about 5 Friday's in a row. There are a couple of us who always bring in our water bottles. (Strictly water). We arrived Wednesday to have a pre Thanksgiving celebration with everyone we worked with. We arrived at about 3:15. There were at least 7 of us (2 with our water bottles). At about 7:15 one of the bartenders abruptly came over and told us we couldn't have our own water bottles. Said they weren't allowed. Umm what? Since when? Then she claimed her manager said she had to come tell us! We asked why we had never been told this before. She said she didn't know. Then she walked away and gave one of a look with a nod of her head as to say get out. We paid our tab and rest assured we won't be back. read more

Interesting place for sure. Good selection of taps and spatious area for bar games. I will say that its a bit tucked to the side so you can easily miss it if you havent been before. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back when were in the area read more

I love this place! Just went for the first time last weekend & it's such a cozy little spot I had no idea was in Clemmons because it's kind of hidden. The band was great & the crowd was really down to earth. Drinks were good & there was pool & darts to keep us entertained. I'll definitely be back! read more
