$5 tix? the box office was advertising $5 tickets! i bought my tix online which include a $1.50 processing fee, total was $6.50 for admission. my partner and i came to see zootopia 2. i loved the theater. it is very quaint and small. it is a downtown theater with three screens, restrooms and a concession stand. the staff is very kind, the box office was attentive and friendly. there also happened to be a birthday party of 70 in attendance but the movie theater crowd was loving the zootopia. i enjoyed my experience stopping in for a movie ;) read more

NO MORE $5 TUESDAYS!! So sad to see our Tuesday night weekly visit is no more. It was already a bummer with the last ownership changed and the prices of food and drinks increased, but now to see that there is no more special on Tuesdays and the tickets are a whopping $15.50 for a very outdated theater is so disappointing. There is no one in Big bear midweek so this was a great deal for locals, sad to say we'll he finding another Tuesday activity. read more

They are always so rude & act like everyone coming in didn't purchase a ticket (even if you did). If you're in town at Big Bear and don't want to miss a good showing of the latest movie, this Village Theater is just the place. Keep in mind, it's just a regular theater with no frills to seating or other amenities besides snacks. You can buy you tickets at the window in advance or chance it by buying close to the start of the movie. You won't be able to select your own seating on an app or have reclining seats. This Theater is right next door to Saucy Mamas. If you are parked in the village you can park behind the next street over with the public parking. It's free and you can park all day. Since this is a small theater be sure to review the showing date and times carefully. Overall it was a nice experience to go a theater not affiliated with Regal or AMC. Came in on a vacation and wanted to see a movie, after an hour into the movie of the projector repeatedly freezing and going black, the manager comes out and says she wants to give us passes to another movie, but since I am not local and won't be able to come back I asked for a refund. The manager proceeded to hound me, asking "is there a reason you're asking for a refund? We don't normally do that." And had a terrible attitude about it. The man giving my refund also seemed to be in a horrible mood for some reason, despite me being perfectly polite. read more

Manager was super rude, we had to request help multiple times and they over sold the theater and there was no seating. Manager acted like we were inconveniencing them. Just moved here and will never go back unless something changes with their poor attitude towards customers. Don't expect much from them!! read more

This is a cute little movie theater. It's pretty old school, there isn't reserved seating available. There are three screens, and the one we were in was quite small. There are 4 or 5 seats in each row. The seats are pretty cushy and comfy. The theater was clean. I found the signs about theater etiquette to be pretty funny. They don't mince words, they definitely tell you what the consequences are for rude behavior during a movie. It's not a bad thing! There is limited parking directly in front of the theater, but the parking lots surrounding were close enough. The staff we encountered were friendly. read more

We were going to be in Big Bear for a few days so I checked out the theater website to see what was going to be playing as there's not a lot to do at night (for us anyway). We're not in Big Bear often but caught a showing of something at the theater years ago. This time, we caught the latest Fantastic Four. Very reasonable ticket prices and snacks/drinks. Popcorn was hot and fresh, theater was clean, everyone working there was polite. The projector stopped a couple times in the previews and during the movie but they were on it and just took a few seconds to fix which was no big deal. It's great having the theater there and whenever we're in town in the future I'll always check out what's playing. read more

First the price is right! $5 Tuesdays are the best! Be aware there is a small charge if you buy online. This quaint little classic theater delivers. You will feel like you stepped back in time when you enter this theater. It not just the decor, it is the service and professionalism. The theaters are on the small size with really nice screens. The seats are newer, comfy, arm can pop up and well spaced, no assigned seating. Thankfully there is NOT 30 minutes of previews! The ads are short and let you know about available Big Bear adventures, stores and resources. IF you arrive late the movie will be playing. The theater is clean as well as the restrooms. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The manager is not just in the office. She welcomes people, resolves issues professionally and quickly and is present when you need her. Be aware that if you arrive more than 30 minutes before the first show starts you need to wait outside. They let you know that on the box office window and on the website. So glad that the new owner was willing to invest into our community. read more

Being a big bear local I pride myself on the honesty and integrity of the community. However I was extremely let down when my friend left her bag of BRAND NEW clothes accidentally after seeing the comedy show. Went back and tried to find it but "nothing was left in any theater." Cool little theater in the heart of Big Bear. Took my family to see DogMan this past weekend & man, the prices on Groupon were 100% cheaper than San Diego. The snacks where also super cheap. I took my 2 sons, my nephew, & my daughter as well as my wife. Did not break the bank at all. Went to see a movie here this last weekend and this place really has the small theater vibe. Have to get here early before movie so you can get better seating as it is first come first serve seating. You nearly have to crawl over someone just to get to an open seat if you arrive late however once seated the seats are very comfortable. Prices are reasonable compared to larger theaters and the staff was very friendly. I am hearing impaired and having to need to use closed caption devices when I go to the movies and I was very impressed that they had devices for use here. Quaint little theater that is the perfect price and size for Big Bear Lake. I saw Top Gun Maverick here on 5/29/2022. There were a few things I would've done different, like getting to the theater 20 minutes earlier so I wasn't relegated to the FIRST row, for an action movie nonetheless (pretty sure I was almost lying flat in my first row chair about 30 mins into the movie). I still want to know who thought putting a screen that close, where I just looked up the actor's noses the entire time, was a great use of the indoor theater space. They have 3 theater rooms and the one I was in maybe sat approx 60 people - so, it can fill up fast. I didn't go to the snack bar but from all of the people devouring their popcorn around me, it seems they really liked it! I do wish they would mop the floors quickly in between showing. My shoes kept getting stuck to the floor. The front staff was very welcoming and friendly. I bought my tickets online ahead of time ($.75 extra charge per ticket) but I still had to wait in line to get "real" tickets from the man at the register. Not sure what the advantage is to buy tickets ahead of time if you still have to wait in line with people who don't even have tickets yet. When you buy online, you're given a QR code. Time to update and scan QR codes for those buying online. If you buy the tickets directly from the box office, there is no additional fee. The box office opens 30 minutes before the earliest showtime of the day. The ticket prices are amazing. You can tell the owners of this theater are really trying to maintain the enjoyment of going to the movie and not price gouging the customers. I paid $10.75 per ticket ($21.50 total). Where I live, just the admission for 2 adults to my movie theater would've been $37.00. The cost is definitely a huge plus and much appreciated. Tips: ** Parking anywhere in The Village is tricky (unless you're riding a moped). Get here AT LEAST 15-20 mins before showtime (probably only like this on the weekends). ** Come early! Arrive to the theater and give yourself time to get the tickets, stop by the snack counter and then find your seat. Biggest reason why? The seating. It is not your "reserve a reclining chair with a seat number" type of theater. First come, first serve. I learned the hard way. Haven't sat in the front row since my kindergarten class. I wish it was reserve seating (& I bet people would pay more for this). I overheard someone say they got there 25 mins early and got relegated to the second row. Or possibly doing assigned seating for "opening weekends" at the box office. ** Do not arrive late. If you come to the theater, 15 minutes after the movie has started, you will be sitting outside of the theater while hearing the sounds of the movie from the park bench. You'll have to use your imagination about what could be on the screen. This little hometown theater is definitely worth checking out! I will be coming back whenever I visit Big Bear again. read more

What a nice little theater. While in Big Bear we decided to catch the Julia Roberts and George Clooney movie, Ticket to Paradise. This was such a quaint nice little theater. They have your traditional snack bar and goodies and I believe either 3 or 4 screens. The theater room was a decent size and very clean along with the restrooms- Movie was really good in case you haven't seen it. It was a nice way to end our day in Big Bear. read more

Cute little movie theater, with newer movies. There are 3 theaters and 2 shows per day, per theater. That's it. We read other people's reviews before going down, and I'm glad because this is what you need to do: we got there about an hour in advance to find parking, but luckily if there is no street parking, there is a parking lot (free) behind the theater, still in walking distance. We bought our tickets online but even if you do, you will still need to wait in line for physical tickets. This is IMPORTANT. The box office opens 30 minutes before the movie. There will be a line. This is also IMPORTANT. We sort of hovered close by and saw a line forming and got in it. This is not a "reserve your seat", this is first come, first serve. The theaters are small. Maybe 60 seats for Oppenheimer? Also showing was Barbie and Mission Impossible. We were probably 10-11 in line, and once we got our tickets, my husband went to get our seats while I waited in the snack line. I highly recommend this. The special on this day was to buy a large popcorn and get a large drink free. Perfect for me and the husband to share. I also got some nachos-the super basic, still in a bag with cheese sauce and some jalapeños on the side, plus a box of red vines for $18. Crazy, right?! We also went on Tuesday, which is a $5 movie day, so we literally spent less than $30 for a movie-unheard of in Vegas lol. Probably busier though too. I still recommend arriving a bit early and getting in line before the box office opens. My husband ended up getting a couple of hotdogs too, which again were your basic hotdogs. They were good, soft bread, decent flavor. Movie looked good, good sound, seats were comfy, but did get a bit uncomfortable after 2+ hours of a 3 hour movie. Still a really good time, and you couldn't beat the price. Oh and this place don't play, these "reminders" popped up on the screen before the movie. This is not an LA. But, for a small town like Big Bear, it's movie-watching-perfect. One ticket agent, a functional but 2002 version of a website, $1 hot dogs (excellent at that price), sweet kids workin' the joint, and 3 screens with a very small amount of seating. The seats seem narrow and are a bit uncomfortable. The prices of the movies have risen from ridiculously cheap to moderate ($6 seniors/children, $8.50 Adults). They do have one day per week )Tuesday's) that is back to the cheap, and matinees are also less than normal. First run movies, which is amazing to me for a little place, but they usually change week to week. So, don't wait if a movie is playing that you want to see. Tip #1 -- Because it's teeny-tiny, your best bet is to buy and print your tickets online. Shows often sell-out. It's also the only game in town. Tip #2 -- Arrive 45 mins early to claim your seats. Tip #3 -- Bring a light jacket or sweater, but also be prepared to strip because the A/C doesn't always work too well. Tip #4 -- Wear nice undies in case Tip #3 happens. Tip #5 -- Easy and free parking one street south. A few spots are right behind the building, but a nice size lot is available which has never been a problem to find a space. Tip #6 -- Don't stress if you buy more concession items than you can hold. The counterperson will escort you to your seat and help out! No, not LA at all. read more

It's time to move to reserved seats. I get that it is a small quaint theater, but when you've got a big release, one person is getting there really early and saving a whole row of seats for themselves. This happens in multiple of your very limited rows. We bought tickets as soon as they were available, arrived 30 minutes before the movie, and had to sit in the second row from the front with a party of 3. The back row is unusable for anyone under 6 feet tall. You'll have more efficient packing and happier clientele with reserved seats. You won't lose the small theater feel. read more
