Creamy and spicy, only if you mix in the hot parts. They come to table and weigh the meat in front of you so you know what you're paying for. It is cooked rare or medium rare. This is NOT like steakhouses in NYC. In its own category. It was presented with melting bone marrow, sea salt and cut off the bone. Extremely flavorful and tender. My only issue is that the fat doesn't render and there was silverskin in some pieces making it inedible, plus you've paid for this by weight. Great attentive service by Nick

When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently. I will 100% be back if I return to Florence!

I was advised to show up on time - even a 2 minute delay would make me miss my reservation. I can see why Trattoria Mario was strict on reservations. They open on the dot, and then a staff member calls out each reservation at 7:30pm like a roll call. Seemed to me that if you don't have a reservation then you're out of luck, because there was no waitlist and the restaurant small and space was limited. Service was great. Our waitress was highly attentive and got us in/out of the restaurant quickly, which was what we were going for. Food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the penne al ragu, salad misto, and a Florentine steak to share. The penne was perfectly al dente, and I liked the meat sauce. I did find the pasta sauce salty, but it could've came from the grated parmesan. The saltiness was not a fluke. The Florentine steak was just pure beef and a ton of salt... too much salt for my liking. I also decided that I'm not a fan of Florentine steak in general.

Am I the only one that thought steak florentine was supposed to be served this way? Maybe that's was my mistake but I thought that's how it was prepared in Florence. Anyways, I was immediately suspicious when our waitress asked how we would like our steak cooked and her suggestions were medium or medium well. Uhhhh what? That goes against everything I believe in! The steak came out on a hot stone slab on top of a wooden box. The slab obviously continued to cook the steak so I immediately took off a few pieces to prevent this. The steak was thick and tender with chunks of large salt grains. It looked nice all sliced up but that's where the compliments end. It lacked flavor and ended up cooking to be more medium rare when I grabbed my pieces and then even medium by the time my dad grabbed his second slice. Our waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for the truffle sauce to accompany our steak (my dad forgot to ask for it when we placed our original order) and walked away with a huff to go grab it. The fries came out cold and limp with flavorless truffle shavings on top. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. Maybe it got too big for its britches and the quality has declined? The one saving grace was the crema bruciata! And the very understanding hostess who gladly pushed our reservation from 7:30 to 8:00pm due to travel difficulties. Whatever the reason, this place definitely missed the mark. You can't walk three steps without seeing a steakhouse here in Florence. My recommendation? Try one of those.

I shared two pasta dishes with my daughter (the handmade Pappardelle with Maremman Wild Boar Ragu and the Carbonara). Both were very good but not the best we've had. Appetizers were good: Salad with pecorino cheese, oranges, pine nuts and walnuts. We ordered the Octopus appetizer as well. The Octopus was beautifully prepared and presented, but didn't have much flavor. They nailed the Espresso Martini! One of the best I've ever had! We ordered the huge Florentine steak to share between 4 of us and it was more than enough. Ultimately what knocked this review down to 3 stars and what was really disappointing was how they targeted us as tourists with the note at the bottom of the bill (see picture). It read "GRATUITY NOT INCLUDED" in all CAPITAL LETTERS. Also note it was the only thing in English on the entire bill. If it had been our first meal in Florence we might have fallen for this tactic, however it was our last. There's definitely some hostility towards tourists in Florence. Don't get me wrong, some of the people and restaurants we've visited have been very welcoming and friendly. However we recently saw tourist taxes go up significantly, and then you see tricks like this on the bill at La Giostra. This was the ONLY restaurant in Florence where we encountered this. Once jet fuel prices make flying a relic of the past I would argue that some Europeans who depend on tourists for their livelihood may not miss our presence but will certainly miss our spending. Save your money and go research the many other places to eat while in Florence.

It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked. All in all, we loved our meal and would definitely recommend this spot if you're in Florence.

Folks, when in Italy you might as well lean all the way into it. When the dish hit the table, everybody's eyes immediately locked onto my plate. I just smiled and said, "One day you'll learn." Now for the taste test. I took that first bite -- clam and all -- and it was so good the entire city fell silent. The pasta was steaming hot, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. Man, am I good... and I mean that too, because if I hadn't ordered it, this masterpiece may have sat in the kitchen undiscovered. The shrimp on this bad boy was excellent -- sweet, tender, and unbelievably fresh. And for my seafood people out there, not one grain of sand from the clams or mussels and not one shell fragment anywhere in the dish. That alone deserves applause. Great service, excellent outdoor seating, a cozy setup inside, and food that flat-out delivered made this an easy 5-star meal for me. As always, I requested hot water and still water from the bottle. Here was my running list of dishes: Beignet, vegetables Mozzarella fried tuscany bread, caviar Tuna as tender as chicken Oyster on green pasta, on top of pork Cheese selection At this point, my bowels had been gurgling since a few dishes into the meal and by the time the cheese cart came around 2.5 hours into the meal, my bowels exploded in a violent episode in Pinchiorri's restaurant. I stayed in the restaurant bathroom so long that someone came and knocked on the door to check on me. I completed the meal and went back to my hotel to spend the night running to the toilet every 30 minutes to diarrhea violently. I spent the next few days vomiting and diarrheaing, and soldiering on with my planned trip, but despite kindly notifying Pinchiorri of my situation so they could look into their exisiting protocol to make sure no future guests got sick, they denied all responsibility. Truly disappointing behavior for a 3 star Michelin, and by far the least impressive of the multiple Michelins I toured on this trip. Ironically, I had just been at La Pergola a 3 star in Rome the night before, and there was no comparison. The service and food at La Pergola (the real 3 star) puts Enoteca Pinchiorri to shame, outing Enoteca as a dupe.

The service was also excellent, and we felt our servers presentation and explanations were perfect. The atmosphere was good, but we wouldn't consider it a selling point, again, given the price point. In fairness, I didn't wear the sports coat, so maybe we got penalized in our table placement. It's hard to describe in exact terms, but something in the optional additions to the tasting menu (introductory champagne offerings, the wine pairings, the cheese tasting...the water menu) felt somewhat contrived to pressure for the extra spend. Maybe that's just the extra attention that comes along with an experience like this, so we're not inclined to read too much into it. Ultimately we turned away what didn't interest us, but we didn't feel that the two €15 bottles of sparkling water were more delightful than a stock offering. The reason we're disinclined to give the experience 5 stars can be summarized by the fact that, when we booked the reservation, the form asked about dietary restrictions, and we noted that one of us does not eat meat. We ordered both tasting menus, one vegan and one non-vegan. But the amuse-bouche they brought out was the same for both of us...and included pig? That's just not knocking it out of the park for a restaurant like this. We still had a wonderful evening, and we were very happy with both tasting menus, but it's hard to give 5 stars if you leave a €300+ per-person meal with any quibbles.
