At first, he performed a procedure to relieve my TMJ pain, but it felt questionable since my condition was already advanced. About six months later, he claimed that extracting my wisdom teeth (all 4) would help -- something no other dentist had ever suggested. I even went to the ER for x-rays of my jaw and they did not mention the teeth. After the extractions, he never scheduled a follow-up to checked on my TMJ progress, just the wisdom teeth extraction. When I returned a year after my initial TMJ visit, he asked if I had any new tooth issues (despite knowing I was there for my jaw). When I said no, he dismissed my pain entirely and insisted nothing was wrong, even though my jaw is worse and has remained locked for the entire year under his care. I even requested a referral for a second opinion or maybe physical therapy, but he became defensive and continued to gaslight me. This behavior was incredibly unprofessional -- not only as a doctor but as a person. I was genuinely begging for help. It is the only help my family had for this since insurance puts us here. It became clear he's more focused on profit, especially from extractions, than on patient care. I used to trust this doctor, but over the past year, his behavior has been unsettling and is considered predatory. My TMJ is now far more severe, and I recently learned that wisdom tooth extractions can actually worsen TMJ -- something he should have known, and probably did know. My mother and I are both extremely disappointed and feel helpless, as the time window for effective treatment has passed due to his negligence. I strongly advise anyone with TMJ or similar conditions to seek care elsewhere. You can literally only go there for tooth extraction. That's the reason why I give 2 stars, which is ironic because I did not go there for that! Plus I woke up in the middle of them stitching it up and they did not care. Scarring experience.

I had almost no swelling, and had basically no pain in the following days. Dr. Haber explains the procedure and what to do in the aftermath very clearly. He personally calls to check up on his patients afterwards. (The man himself is genuinely caring and I'm pretty sure he has a great singing voice.) Dr. Haber and his staff are very accommodating and helped me schedule appointment dates that would be most favorable for my health insurance plan and calendar. His prices may be higher than some, but they are 100% worth it. I will be having another tooth extraction with him soon and I'm almost looking forward to the experience.

The entire process of everything went SO smoothly. I needed to get all 4 wisdom teeth out, and I was able to get an appointment within a week. A nice lady emailed me all of the paperwork so that I could fill it out prior to my appointment. I had a consultation, which was quick, and then scheduled my surgery for the next week. I had never been under anesthesia before and I was EXTREMELY anxious the whole week before the procedure. I can say it went better than I could have ever imagined. The whole procedure was quick, and I woke up in disbelief that it was actually over! The nurses were very nice, and answered all of my questions and gave me the proper post op info when going home. Even a few days after my surgery, I was concerned about some stitches in my mouth, and the nurse said the Dr. Carrao was able to see me that very same day. I had doctor Perrino do my extractions (all 4) and I really felt listened to and in good hands. He called to check in after my surgery which wasn't expected but very nice to receive. When I called a week and half after my surgery I was able to schedule a follow up (no charge) and he provided advice and stretching exercises when I came back in after I expressed concern about my locked jaw. My nurse Jasmin (I believe her name was) was also a real help when I came out from anesthesia. Hannah is at the desk to handle financials when you finish your consultation /surgery and I appreciated her insight and transparency when it came to the cost. In all of my years sitting in dental chairs, this is by far and wide my most positive experience with a surgeon, their front office, and the incredible work done. Since moving to New York 14 years ago, I have been seen and had work done by 6 dentists and 3 oral surgeons. I have never felt comfortable in their chairs, which is something as a patient, you really hope happens when you visit. I have been shamed for my teeth, referred by dentists to surgeons for extractions, aka teeth pulling "mills", where you feel like a number and all they do is put you to sleep, yank teeth, and send you home in agony. But when I was referred by my new awesome dentists to Dr. Wanatick, I knew the moment I walked in that I was in really good hands. I was anxious for my first visit and immediately put at ease by Dr. Wanatick. It was like he had seen my case 100 times and knew just what to do. I had curved and divergent roots on multiple sick teeth that needed to come out - problem is in an overcrowded space with no wriggle room, this can present as an impossible case to many dentists and surgeons. Dr. Wanatick's high tech x rays and state of the art equipment, along with his immense knowledge of teeth, bone structure, nerves, and how to best solve this case blew my mind. His team are kind, compassionate and competent. Everyone is excellent at what they do in Dr. Wanatick's office! He demands the best from his team and I love it. He treats them with kindness and respect and that says a lot about a person in general. It was like walking into a well oiled machine that feels like your living room, and are so full of knowledge and solutions, kindness and understanding. I never once even sat in the waiting room because they were ready for me - talk about incredible. We decided to break the surgery down into 2 parts - doing one side of my mouth first to ensure I would have a biting surface and the other side could heal. We started with the more difficult side on Monday which was 4 extractions and 3 implant surgeries. I was especially nervous about having to numb the upper area because that upper mouth shot has never not been painful for me - until Dr. Wanatick did it. I literally never felt as much as a pinch from his needle - he's THAT good. From past trauma post-op, I was expecting unbearable pain and swelling, but was again pleasantly shocked to have no pain the next day with just soreness, and very little swelling for the work done. It hasn't even been 48 hours since my surgery and you could have fooled me it even happened! The front office have called to check on me, as has Dr Wanatick. I've dreaded this surgery for years and thanks to Dr. Wanatick and his team, I'm actually looking forward to the next one. Thank you for helping me, for going above and beyond ti ensure my comfort, and more than anything - for taking away the nightmares I've had for years about my teeth.
