If I didn't know better, I'd swear there was a leprechaun in my ear during a recent trip to the Bronx. You see, as I was randomly scrolling through Yelp trying to come up with some potential food stops, this popped up. I happen to love Butcher Block in Queens and figured maybe this would be similar. Well, this was smaller than I expected, but there was still plenty for me to choose from, and choose, I did. Got a can of mushy peas. I like mushy peas. So what? Also got some bangers. Not touching that one... And a couple housemade frozen pot pies, including chicken curry and steak & kidney. Wish me luck with that second one. Never tried kidney before. I think they also sell sausage rolls and fry up fish & chips on the spot for you. Though don't quote me on either. Plus they carry various Irish biscuits, chocolates and whatnot. I was fascinated by the Woodlawn neighborhood where this is located. It's apparently known as "Little Ireland,' made obvious, indeed, by the various pubs, markets, and restaurants I happened upon nearby. I had no bloody clue! Can't believe what an eejit I am. NYC, I hardly knew ye. For real. 'Twas probably the luck 'o the Irish. Me winding up here. How else to explain it. read more

It's a little store and I was honestly not hugely impressed when I first went in. I bought sausages and pudding, black and white and let me tell you they were delicious. I was just being a cynical ass when I first went in. The place is great. I've been back several times. I'm from Dublin and it's awesome to find a place where I can buy goods that make me miss home a little less. read more

Best sausage rolls ever! For anyone from Belfast, they are just l Iike McErleans sausage rolls. They come uncooked in a pack of 4 so you can bake them fresh. Also have Vegetable Roll. I get my order sent to me on Long Island. read more

My first time stopping in was a nice clean butcher shop great prices for the Irish sausage and puddings also ordered Irish sausage egg and cheese sandwiches they weren't very good the sausage was cut in half and cooked fast and it was burnt and rubber you can't cook it like that takes the taste out read more

This is a wonderful shop if looking for Irish breakfast good and Irish food products. It takes us 45-60 minutes to get here and deal with Bronx parking. But it is so worth the drive. read more

You'd be hard pressed to find a better butcher of any ethnicity, though obviously they cater to the local Irish population of Woodlawn. The frozen meat pies shouldn't be missed--stock up on them if you're not a local. I drive there from Bridgeport CT to get the annual St. Pat's corned beef, that should speak for itself. read more

Great meats. Fresh organic chicken is simply the best I ever had. A small store with lots of great Irish products beside the wonderful cuts of meat. I don't buy meat anywhere else. The butchers are friendly and very knowledgeable. If you live within 10 miles of Prime Cuts, you should be coming here for your meat. Plus Woodlawn is a friendly, family oriented neighborhood. I can't say enough good things about this place. read more

The meat had a nice amount of marbling and was very tender and flavourful. The meat was such great quality that even though I slightly overcooked it, it remained very tender. I only added minimal seasoning, salt and pepper with butter and flavor was delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for quality meat.
