My motorcycle was struck by a Sagamore insurance holder on Aug. 4, 2014. Here's the highlights: - Waited 35 days with a broken motorcycle while Sagamore gave me the runaround on being able to get it towed to a shop. - Was ignored for 14 days. No returned phone calls, no returned e-mails. Nothing. - Was told that there was no "loss of use" coverage, even though it's the most basic coverage given by all other insurance companies. - Told me I could get a rental car if I paid the deposit - no other insurance company does this. - Told me that they would keep my claim open while they sent the first check so I could get reimbursement for towing and make any further claims for any internal damage that their adjuster couldn't see. In reality, I was given an offer check, meaning that if I cashed it, the claim would be closed. - Was ignored for the next 9 days. Was never able to get through to a supervisor, was never able to talk to the agent on the claim, and never got a call back. Eventually I gave up, cashed the check, and got the bike fixed at a loss to me, because I couldn't go without the bike for that long. Here's the recap: - Through no fault of my own, I lost the use of my only form of transportation. - Spoke with an uncaring agent. - Denied basic coverages. - Ignored multiple times. - Given the runaround. Don't give Sagamore your money, unless you enjoy being frustrated and treated like trash when you need to file a claim.
