There is no doctor at First Keller Healthcare. Not figuratively--literally. The website shows a…read moredoctor with a grinning headshot, but that doctor does not exist in that building. Huan Nguyen, D.O. never appears at the Keller office. The staff confirmed this only after I insisted on scheduling with him directly. If you walk in and ask to see Dr. Nguyen, even for five seconds, you will discover the same thing: the "doctor's office" has no doctor. Bring friends. Make it a field trip. So what is there? An office manager (owner?) named Arturo, who behaves as though the basic duties of a clinic are personal inconveniences. In my case, he explained that they are very, very busy (unlike the rest of us, apparently) and that they "don't get paid to send referrals," as though referrals are favors rather than a basic component of patient care. In point of fact, their own nurse practitioner made the referral--which the staff then mishandled. Mistakes happen, but some mistakes actually need to be corrected. I had to return in person to make that clear. I'm sure it's a fantastic revenue-generating model: (1) acquire a doctor's name for the website; (2) rent an office and hire a few NPs; (3) market yourself as a physician-led clinic; (4) cash the insurance checks. Arturo is probably planning an early retirement. In Texas, this is perfectly legal. And it's a perfect snapshot of how broken healthcare has become here.

Per my insurance company, it is on the same tab in Availity - Providers- TriWest; when you submit the referrals (as the provider). Only a referral was made and PT requires both. So now it still needs to be submitted but now they are saying my PCP needs to. This was the same way in east region (now west for Texas) so I don't know why this is like a new thing to them with authorizations. They worked me into rehab in the meantime which is nice; when I called they wouldn't do that without charging me per visit out of pocket. I reached out to this office on June 14th, explaining the urgency of my situation and asking to be scheduled as a new patient. The front desk told me the next available appointment was over a month away (August 19). I said I'd take it -- even though it was far out -- because I needed help. I also made it clear I'd be calling around elsewhere in case someone could see me sooner. They said they'd schedule me. They didn't. A week later, I followed up because I never got a confirmation. That's when I found out I was never put on the schedule, and the original appointment time was now taken. They pushed me back to August 20th at 8am. I agreed, took time off work, and arranged everything I needed to make it happen. Fast forward to 6 days before my appointment: I get a text saying I must confirm and submit paperwork 48 hours in advance or they'll cancel. Aggressive, but okay. I confirm immediately. Then, not even an hour later, I get a voicemail saying my appointment has been canceled because "we can't see you due to your medical history." What medical history? They never collected anything from me except that I'm bipolar -- which, by the way, is listed as a condition they treat on their website. I called to ask what happened, and the front desk gave me vague, dismissive answers. When I asked to speak to the office manager, I was laughed at and told she might call me back. When I professionally but directly expressed my frustration, I was told they "didn't like my tone." I never once yelled or cursed. This place is a perfect example of why people suffer in silence. I reached out for help during one of the most vulnerable times in my life, and I was met with incompetence, rudeness, and zero compassion. Pregnant women deserve better. People with mental health needs deserve better. Do better.

Throughout the past year I've been able to try their salt therapy room, vitamin shot, whole body vibration machine and foot detox. The salt therapy room was a cool experience and I loved that they had Bluetooth speakers inside the cubicle. I tried their whole body vibration machine today which was a wierd but cool experience. After a couple of minutes I tried a couple of the suggestive poses and became comfortable with the whole body vibration machine. Through the various treatments I've noticed my body feels better and soreness level is reduced as I tend to come here after a workout. The ladies at the front are sweet and friendly. I look forward to my next visit.
