Came out for late night weekend call. Reported themostat was bad and condensation pan not draining. Tech quoted me $2,300 to replace Thermostat with smart Thermost and clear drain. or $1,174 to put regular Thermostat and clear drian. I opted for $1,174. I later found out my old thermostat was good and re instaled it my self and been working fine ever since. I called Vines Office and they were basicly unresponsvie to my conern. Been using Vines for 20 years and last two times they were way over priced. They got me twice, the last time. read more

A friend had a toilet issue at her beach condo. She paid $1000 for a new toilet when a service call and $25 in parts would be the extent of repairs. Loved the explanation of opening up the faucet to bleed air out of line from cutting supply off, like it was a major procedure to cut the cold water on at faucet. Leak was not at cut off yet tech replaced the cut off valve. Two technicians that know absolutely nothing of repair only new installation. This is what happens when you use a franchise. This company really gives plumbing a bad name. Go to a plumbing supply house like Ferguson and just ask them to give you a name of an actual independent plumber that purchases through them. Over the moon happy with service my bonus mom (mother in law) has received from Vines. Every tech that has come out to her house has been so polite, friendly, respectful, clean, courteous, well dressed, knowledgeable....cant say enough good things about the techs that have come in to my moms home. We have been so happy with their service. When her service went out right after we replaced the entire unit after a storm they were very responsive in getting by her service back up and running ASAP. My issues started in 2025. I called Vines for a water leak and mold. Took 4 -5 months for everything to be 100% completed. At the beginning of March a sink that vines installed fell into the cabinet somehow turning the water on while I was not home. Thankfully I was only gone roughly 2 hours. I came in to a flooded kitchen, living room, and a little in the hallway. After contacting vines they showed up about an hour and a half later. Put fans in and removed the bottoms of my cabinets. While 2 guys from Vines were here (mark and someone else) Mark told me twice in the few hours they were here that he sees what happen and I did the right thing by turning the water off from the valves because it could have been a lot worse. One of those times is on video. The owner of vines Rick Vines wanted to come and look at everything 10 days later. He was very arrogant and told me that it was a cat that just had kittens 8 hours prior to this that was also locked in my bathroom upstairs with the bedroom door also shut. I told him that there was no way the mother cat opened the bathroom door, opened the bedroom door, came downstairs and turned the water on, went back upstairs and shut the bedroom door and shut the bathroom door. His response was cat or ghost there is no way the sink falling turned the water on. He said they would cover all the repairs but would not pay for any damage to my furniture. It took almost 8 weeks for them to come back out and connect the water to the sink and dishwasher so I could have running water in my kitchen. Furniture still damaged, floor in hallway is sticking up, extremely high water bill, and electric bill due to their incompetence. I would never recommend Vines to anyone. Very sad they cannot take care of ALL issues THEY (NOT A CAT OR A GHOST) caused. Stay far away from Vines read more

I asked Vines to come out an inspect an HVAC system in a home I was purchasing. They were very prompt and did a great job of identifying a lot of deferred maintenance problems. There was a fee of course. It was reasonable. After I purchased the home I called them back and asked them to come and make the repairs. Unfortunately, they completely ghosted me. I'm sure I was polite about it. Haven't heard a word from them sense. I had to call another HVAC company to make the updates. It was about $2k in repairs. read more

When you're in a bind, don't call Vines! Scheduled an appointment with Jay after speaking with him in reference to their subscription service. I was unsure if I wanted to proceed with establishing an account without receiving a quote on various work I needed performed. I was scheduled to have 2 different individuals out to provide an estimate between 1-5 pm on a Friday, and the ability to proceed with the work if the price quoted was acceptable. Four-o'clock rolled around and no one from Vines had called or arrived to perform any work. I decided to call Jay back to get an update on whether we were still good for today. Jay put me on hold for an extended period of time, then came back and stated that he would need to check and give me a call back. Five-o'clock rolled around and no one from Vines had called or arrived to perform any work. It was time to pull the plug on another service company in Horry County! My word of warning going forward is to establish a set appointment time with each company you request service from. If they fail to honor the scheduled appointment time, and fail to keep you updated on any change to the scheduled time. Do not wait, because this is not the first time I have been stood up by a service provider in this area. Apparently, based on the others reviews posted by Yelpers, their modus operandi is to charge outrageous prices for any service performed. A leak, detected within six hours of its onset, has escalated into a significant issue. I contacted Vines to schedule an in-home inspection after discovering water on the floor of my residence. The mitigation team was dispatched, and following a five-day period of fan and dehumidifier operation, the restoration team was able to confirm that the moisture level was sufficiently low to proceed with the restoration of the property to its pre-damage condition. The true challenge emerged during the restoration process, which involves the repair and rebuilding of damaged structures.Vines hired a third-party crew to complete the work. It is evident that the work was executed by amateurs. This stage is designed to restore the property to its original condition or better. Unfortunately, the restoration efforts here proved to be unsatisfactory. The team made several errors in their work. The installation of incorrect materials, the painting of only a fraction of the walls invoiced, and the uneven rebuilding of cabinetry have been identified as issues. This has led to drawers that rub and scrape when opened. These issues were further exacerbated by a concerning communication breakdown. When the property owner raised concerns about paint color mismatches, the workforce reportedly responded defensively and even blamed the owner for the mismatch. I contacted them by phone, email, and even visited their office to discuss in-person the substandard work of their crew. Despite repeated assurances over several weeks that the defects would be corrected, there has been little to no improvement. I have since had two additional companies to come out and provide me with estimates. On both occasions, both representatives confirmed that the work that had been completed up to this point is substandard. I'm now left with a half-painted ceiling and the work that had been completed up to this point needing to be ripped out and done again. Stay away, far away from these shady company. read more

Thanks to Vines, our HVAC is running smooth and costing less money every month. They did an outstanding job redoing the ductwork that Tech improperly installed on our HVAC. Our coils were freezing up, so Vines redid the ductwork to get more airflow, and they vented the hot air that Tech had going back onto the coils into a drop zone instead. Our 5 ton system was only able to process 2.5 tons of air after Tech installed it. After Vines redid our ducts etcetera, we are getting almost 5 tons. They added air intakes, bigger main feed lines, and fixed the feed lines that Tech crimped around the house structure. Several 11 inch ducts installed by Tech were cutoff to about 2-3 inches. read more

Fortunately we were home when a 20 year old hot water line under our utility sink in the wash room blew and hot water poured onto the floor on a Saturday evening. Not knowing if there was a pressure issue, called this company, very polite rep sent their after hours plumber Andy who arrived in a couple of hours and replaced both cold and hot lines with a new faucet by midnight. Very professional plumber originally from Western New York State. The old lines are plastic which are not allowed to be used since 2008. Great honest job, and joined their program for yearly inspections and discounts. read more

They are way too expensive and don't really care about the customer. As a veteran they give a 5% discount which is nice. But I needed them to unhook my sink so I could have new countertops put in and then had them hook it back up once countertops were in. They put two new baskets in and traps and charged me almost $800. The cold water value had a leak but they said that would be another $159 to change that out and another $350 to change out the shutoff value on my hot water tank ( and we aren't sure if that shutoff value is bad). They said I would have to have the main water shutoff in the condo where I'm at. I spoke with our property manager and he says most plumbers know where this is but Vine didn't seem to know. So, for $800, they un-hooked the hoses to my sink and the drain values and then hooked them back up after I had countertops installed. I cannot use the cold water because there is a leak. $800 only gets you hot water. Oh, and they still charged me $129 to show up. That was added on to the total price. Nice way to treat a veteran or anyone for that matter. I would never use them again. I can't afford to. read more

Prob the worst plumbing company on the beach. Will take advantage and rip off the elderly. They came and fixed a 3/4 inch line 6 inches had broke. I was in the way with the right stuff to fix line. Ten dollars worth of material. Before I had got there they had fixed it with pex now the line is reduced to 1/2 inch with four 90's. And to top it off they charged the man five hundred and nine dollars. Ten min of work and the hole was already dug. I used Vines for the Restoration. The work was fine but the time it took them to complete the job was ridiculous. The flooding was on Nov 6th 2022 and my Restoration was finished yesterday April 19th. During restoration they cracked my granite countertop, lost the door false fronts which they took with them, took months to replace the water damaged cabinets, replaced baseboards and left caulk on my newly painted walls I had to repaint. They tried to repair the granite top, had 3 different companies here. Finally it was determined to do it the cheapest way they could by removing my damaged granite top and installing a farmers sink. This would not have been something I would have chosen but by this time I just wanted my kitchen back. It was a total nightmare, much miscommunication during the process. I would never recommend this company for the Restoration part. The work they did was fine but the time they took completing this is totally out of the norm. I woke up this morning to the smell of sewage in my bathroom. The lines were plugged, and during my shower It was flooding the lower floor bathroom I called Vines and could not have been happier. They had somebody over here within the hour that I called The gentleman that showed up Nick Ryan could not have been more helpful more pleasant more accommodating. He came here and addressed and resolved the problem in a matter of hours . During that time HE did not act like he was trying to RUSH through the job and get out He took his time did a great job . Professional company; Pricing so exorbitant I'll be reporting to the better business bureau. Just unbelievably expensive. If I could give zero stars I would. I paid $627 for literally 1.5 hour job. Install new faucet, swap out a garbage disposal (1:1 same as), and re-hook up sink drain as it was unhooked for new countertops. Didn't like that they ask for payment upfront. Plumber estimates 3 hours, had me sign to agree, then did the job in 1.5, hung out in his truck afterwards for 20 minutes and left. Cannot recommended and would strongly urge folks to shop around and know upfront what they are charging. Update: spoke with the service manager. He said they charge a "flat rate" per job. This flat rate equates to $400/hour. There are plenty of licensed plumbers charging $150/hour; suggest anybody looking for a plumber look anywhere else but with this company. read more

Well we unfortunately needed a plumber this week. Of course we called Vines Plumbing!! They cleaned out the clean-outs and made sure water and waste was making it all the way through the pipes. I will never use Vines for services again. We had them install a new kitchen faucet for us 2 weeks ago. I was given a timeframe for my appointment between 10am-2pm. The technician arrived at 2:21, never called beforehand to tell me he was on the way (like I was told he would) and he just opened the door and walked into my home - no doorbell ring or knock. Then he left without collecting payment because "there's a new system and I don't know how to use it. Someone will call you with the final bill." An hour later I receive an email receipt for the total...no call. When my husband called to let the office know we had a $25 coupon from a previous visit from another plumber we were told "we can't honor that" to which someone in the background of the office had to yell to the "new manager" that those cards were given out a few years back and they would honor it, after my husband had to argue with the manager for more than 5 minutes. Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time, and that's not saying much since customer service seems to be a lost art. I would advise, to save your time and money, go elsewhere. read more
