One year later, and I'm still so happy to call The Vineyards home! I left a review when I first moved in last summer, and now that I've lived here for a year and renewed my lease, I wanted to share an update. I honestly love living here. This apartment has become my little sanctuary. I feel safe, comfortable, and at home here, and that peace of mind means more than I can explain. The Debra & Elizabeth in the leasing office have been wonderful from the beginning, including throughout my renewal. Even a quick conversation when I run into someone reminds me how kind and welcoming they are. Those everyday interactions make a difference. Our maintenance team deserves special recognition, too. They're amazing, and I really appreciate that it's been the same familiar faces since I moved in. There's a lot of comfort in knowing the people coming into your home. The space is another huge plus. My two-bedroom, two-bath apartment is approximately 1,300 square feet, and I absolutely love how roomy it is. I appreciate the gated community and the neighbors who help make it feel like home. Yes, there's dust--but that should be obvious! For me, that doesn't take away from everything I love about living here. A year later, I'm just as grateful to be here as I was when I got my keys. This place calls itself 'luxury living.' Don't believe it. Management is a COMPLETE joke. They say all the right things to convince you this is a great place to live--but once you move in, you're on your own. All they care about is filling units and have ZERO concern about your safety or condition of the apartment. God forbid you have any issues. The so called 'Management' turns a blind eye and a deaf ear. They don't even have the decency to return a phone call. Do yourself a favor and don't consider this place as a place you'd call home. It's definitely not luxury living or anything remotely similar. There's a reason they're rated a 3--They don't even deserve that. read more

The Vineyards at Palm Desert is hands down the BEST place I've ever lived. From the moment I moved in, I felt at home. The community is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and truly has a resort-like feel. The landscaping is always immaculate, and I love taking walks through the neighborhood--it's quiet, clean, and filled with friendly neighbors. The location couldn't be more perfect. It's tucked away enough to feel private and serene, but still super close to shops, restaurants, and all the best of Palm Desert. The management team is exceptional--responsive, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them, which is such a breath of fresh air. I genuinely look forward to coming home every day. Constant issues with contacting the main office, By far the worst of the local apartment complexes. The property is exposed to the most amount of wind and sand compared to any other complex in the area to the point that sand was constantly leaking through the window sills and doorways terrible for anyone with allergies or respiratory issues. The landscaping is nonexistent, and the complex is not walkable at any point in the year due to the lack of vegetation or shade and the pools were constantly needing to be shut down for cleaning because of this so the facilities were essentially nonexistent. This in addition to large rent hikes of 10% annually and paying a pet deposit and monthly pet fees meant an absurd increase in living expenses. read more

I would leave 0 stars if I could. *The sand dunes across the street cause a never-ending barrage of dust that blows into your apartment. This is compounded by facilities staff who use leaf blowers to clean the sidewalks and blow sand into your apartment. Be prepared to deep clean several times a week. *Front office staff are unreliable, but have a penchant for trash talking other tenants out of nowhere. So if you want chisme, feel free to swing by the front office. *The internet is run by a no-name company and regularly drops. There is no service on weekends and IT support is non-existant after working hours, so if it drops on a Friday, be prepared to wait until Monday afternoon for service to be restored. I believe my internet was disconnected 9 times within 5 months *If you do have internet access, max speeds are a measly 100 mbps. Mobile internet options are unavailable for backup *A sales point is "free" cable, but an extra $50 is added to the monthly apartment HOA fees *The ceiling walls are paper thin. I knew when my neighbor woke up, went to sleep, or where they were walking at all times when they were home. Additionally, due to this being a pet-friendly apartment with thin walls, I could smell where their cats litter box was placed as the smell of ammonia leaked through the ceiling *99.9% of neighbors are great, but the .1% are rowdy, chain smoking, and let their off leash dogs chase you in the parking lot *Upon leaving, I received no final bill or return of my deposit, but got a letter sent to collections for more than my rent and HOA fee and am currently working with a lawyer to have this resolved I highly suggest leasing at any other complex read more

Just moved in a couple weeks ago- The property managers were so sweet and patient, worked very closely with us to make sure we found something that fit our needs. Some of the apartments qualify through a program owned by the city and offer lower rent options. Like all city programs our qualification process was a bit of a process but completely worth it and Leah and Justin went above and beyond and never gave up on us. Love our view from our apartment, sunsets are beautiful. the whole place is calm, clean, very quiet and dog friendly. The clubhouse and gym with 24 hr access is beautifully newly renovated. Love that we have 24 hr maintenance and hardwood floors. We're expecting our first baby and we searched for a clean functional and reliable home with in unit laundry -most important for a first time expectant mother like myself and after much search we found all of that here Our apartment is 1 bedroom and is so cute spacious and clean. Submitted a maintenance request and we're here within minutes. read more

I thought I was over with this nightmare. These people have shocked me once again at their incompetence and disregard for tenants. I left 4/1 paying professional cleaners to make sure the place was spotless. I only lived in that unit for 1 year. Took all the needed pictures to prove it hoping to not have to use them but knowing who these people are. I received a large letter two months after moving out. In this letter its charging me for the full month of April, (This was never discussed to me) As well as charging for cleaning fees such as smoke damage treatment, (I don't smoke) Deep cleaning, (I already had it cleaned) and cable and utility charges for a month I didn't even live there. This followed by the threat of giving this to collections after 15 days. *This is another ALERT to all looking into these apartments. You are not protected by your contract, you are not dealing with professionals and you will be taken advantage of if you don't have legal support.* read more

The Vineyards here in Palm Desert have been nothing short of the perfect place for me to call my home since I moved in back in 2022. Elizabeth, Lea, and Linda in the leasing office have accommodated anything and everything that can be expected and gone above and beyond to make me feel like I'm part of the family here. The groundskeepers are all extremely kind, very prompt in tending to the repairs and maintenance of the property, and work so hard to keep up with the day to day. The property is gorgeous; the tenants are friendly and peaceful; the rent is always reasonable (and a steal, considering what you actually get for the money you spend). What more can you possibly want from a renter-landlord relationship and experience? Vineyards at Palm Desert is a 10/10 place to live and I am so grateful that this is where me and my two kitties get to spend our lives. I moved myself in secretly as I was planning my escape from a marriage gone wrong. I reached out to the Vineyards and was directed to Lea. She was understanding and patient with me as I was lost as far as applying and forms ,etc. So, I'm coming up on 2.5 months. Honestly, no issues. I have not lived in an apartment community since college... I have brought up an issue regarding my heater and it was repaired along with a couple more issues. I advised the manager that some tenants vehicles are simply not being used/ never move.I was assured that action was in the works. I am enjoying the community and having my own place. The garage space is very large , large interior storage and spacious bath and kitchens. Freshly painted and pest free. All good and happy to be in this space. read more

I came online to post a review for work that was done in our apartment. We were impressed by the the job performed and the clean up afterwards. I started to read the reviews feeling awful for the staff and maintenance team. We have been here and have seen the Community Manager changed a couple of times. In fact the property is currently without a Community Manager. I'm not quite sure why this would be, certainly it places more responsibility on Elizabeth and Jennifer. In these unprecedented times we all could agree that finding employees is certainly challenging. Maintaining this type of property requires an enormous amount of maintenance from many different vendors. Vendors are facing the same employment challenges. Elizabeth, Jennifer, Eric and Darrin work very, very hard and it is of no fault of theirs that rents have escalated, pools are filled with sand, dog poop is everywhere etc.. It is ownership that is responsible for supplying their management team (Western National Property Mgmt) with the means to replace umbrellas, install security cameras, add more frequent visits from the gardener and so on. This Vineyard's leasing office and maintenance team is working extremely hard making this development as pleasant as possible. Remember they're over 250 apartments and four people doing their best to listen and respond to everyone's needs and wants not an easy fete by any means. read more

I was actually really excited to move into the vineyards because I've had friends who lived here and didn't have many complaints. I've only been here a few months and I do like my apartment but there are some major issues that if I could reconsider then I probably wouldn't have chosen to move in. I've lived in the desert almost all of my life and I've lived at many apartment complexes. In that time, I've never confronted an issue with scorpions coming into my apartment. I've had two already within the little time I've been here. I feel this is an issue that people should be aware of before they move in. It may not bother some, but it would've been a deal breaker for me. My upstairs neighbors are extremely loud. This was brought to my attention on the day of my move in and had never been mentioned prior. I was told the past renter would always complain, and that I should to if there were issues but it seems pointless to me. The gates are usually open allowing anyone to come into the complex. People are told they aren't allowed to park their cars behind their garages, but they do. This leaves zero space for people to get into their own garage. Little is done about this. The office recommends filling out one of their standard warnings and leaving it on the strangers car, but I don't feel like that's my job to do that. Lastly, the service is horrible even with the wifi. As far as what I do like, the interior of the apartments are nice and I like the gym. For the amount of rent I'm paying, I expect more. I'm disappointed to say the least and will not be renewing my lease at the end of year. Hope this helps people who are looking for a living space they can truly enjoy. read more

Reviews about the massive rent increase are accurate. I'm going to be charged an extra $800/month for a 1 bedroom should I continue to stay here. Other issues I have with this place: - You are NOT allowed to choose your own internet provider and are forced to pay minimum $60/mo for internet that is frequently nonexistent. I have had to go back to work multiple times just to use the internet because I have none at home and the internet company they've chosen (who have changed their name 3x since I've lived here for 2 years) is impossible to contact. You CANNOT get a different internet provider. - Amenities are frequently closed for various reasons (includes pool and gym), so consider these nonexistent as well. For the price that they are asking for now and the unfortunate decline in the quality of the complex as a whole, there are better options elsewhere. read more

They have raised my rent over $550 per month this year. I'm on the moderate income program and they forced everyone in this program to go month-to-month, saying it was for our flexibility, but really just using it as an excuse to be able to raise the month-to-month rent at random. Facilities have hardly been usable over the last year. Landscaping has declined incredibly. Zero compassion from main office. Price is not worth it anymore. read more

I have lived here since 2018 and I love it here. The management have been wonderful. They have been helpful and quick to assist me anytime I have needed assistance from them. Yes the rent has increased but I looked around and other apartments seem to charging around the same so it seems fair to me. Nobody likes where rent has been going if course. I wish the state would do something like a rent moratorium to give us all relief but it is what it is for now. I do love it here and would highly recommend it. read more

I love the complex and the layout of our apartment, not to mention having a garage in the desert is so nice! The staff and management are wonderful and quick to address any issue. However.....We've had several scorpion issues, even with pest control coming and spraying after each sighting. These desert bark scorpions are the most toxic species in the US too :( All of the noise complaints are completely true. The walls are so thin that you can hear normal conversation from your neighbors. It's the worst I've ever experienced in an apartment. read more

I lived here for two years and loved it. Staff were friendly and responsive to our requests, though the building was new when we moved in so there weren't many. We chose based on location and amenities. It was easy to get to the freeway (I worked north, while my husband's job was south). Loved having an attached private garage with our apartment, and the layout was great in the Rutherford unit. We had a washer-dryer in unit--nice. We opted out of a unit with a great view; instead, our windows were shaded a bit by adjacent buildings--that was helpful in the blazing desert. The kitchen was well-appointed. I loved my gas range and huge island for food prep. It can get really windy here--probably why no one built here for years. It used to be blowing sand dunes in this area, so even with windows closed you'll get sand inside. That's the case just about everywhere in the area. And be careful with plants on the patio/balcony--make sure they are heavy so they don't get blown away. There's a fantastic dog park that we'd walk to every morning. There's a decent pizzeria next door and a cool thrift shop. I really miss this community and my great apartment, though I don't miss the desert heat. read more

My husband and I moved into The Vineyards recently and we couldn't be happier. From our first meeting we were given a tour by Elizabeth (Assistant Manager) she couldn't have been more welcoming and informative, what a lovely woman. The Vineyards is a beautiful property, Tommy and the maintenance team do an outstanding job keeping it perfect. We met Christine the Community Manager the following Monday, between Christine, Elizabeth and Jennifer it's no wonder that we love this property sooooo much. I'm the Vineyards longest-standing tenant (since 2010), and I recently wrote an unsatisfied review of the Vineyards to which the company responded by forcing our rude, unprofessional property manager to call me to offer a dishonest apology which she couldn't wait to hang up from, and soon after an online customer rep, "Mackenzie J.", responded to my range of complaints (including about our management staff and sudden massive rent increase) with an obviously strategic scripted narrative focusing on the landscaping: "We appreciate your feedback regarding the landscaping areas that need attention - at your earliest convenience, please contact the Leasing Office by email at blah blah blah with locations in which you are referencing to so that we can address your areas of concern," and as to the rent increase she added, "We are guided by a consistent pricing process and the community is in alignment with the current pricing in the area." (Wow ... who knew that the 'consistent' pricing process in the community leaps 33% in one year??!!!) I responded by emailing, "Hello Mackenzie J., if you would like to see all the sprinklers that are no longer watering anything since the plant/tree died long ago, just show up on the property and walk in any direction for about one minute. Yesterday morning while walking my dog, I randomly glanced to one side for just a few seconds and counted eight sprinkler heads dribbling water onto nothing. I didn't even have to LOOK to find this. The recent rent increase at our complex makes me feel confident that you're paid enough to do the footwork in the hot sun yourself to find 'areas of concern'. BTW, if I have problems or questions concerning my apartment or lease, who should I speak with since I would no longer like to deal with the current management team?" I don't expect a response, but we'll see what happens... as far as I'm concerned, this entire interaction should be transparent and open to the public... read more

I have lived in this complex for about 2 years now and all of the sudden they increased the rent price 35% and refused to offer a 12 month lease. At least if some of the services were good I wouldn't have mind it but it's been 3 months that I have asked for WiFi at the gym and they keep making excuses. During pandemic even when the restrictions were lifted they still kept the gym and facilities closed. Other than main pool other pools are not usable since nobody maintains them and they are filthy . read more

This apartment complex is awful ... zero service zero reliability and real. There is a bad smell in the complex. We lived here for 2 years and that was during covid. They used the heath excuse to shut down the gym and pool (even outdoor areas) for the entire 2 year and right after covid they jacked up the rent by more than 30%. read more

Residents at the Vineyards are prioritized as authentically important by the manager, office, & maintenance staff :) Despite challenges from COVID, the entire staff has done their best to care for residents. The property is beautiful, and aside from extremely dusty days from weeks of high winds (which no one could clean on a daily basis), the property is beautiful and well-kept. We have a wonderful community of neighbors as well! read more

I have never lived here. Just went to see if I could rent an apartment. Was offered all kinds of discounts on rent and showed us the floor plans and everything just to say no to us because we have a elderly rescue Shepherd mix dog because the management has "breed restrictions" but they would allow American Bulldog, one of the most aggressive dogs. Thats like saying no to one of my kids because he's too big. It says on their website that they're pet friendly but doesn't mention anything about restrictions. I'd never live here even if it was free. read more

After living here for almost a year, I can't wait to get out. The staff is here. I have no complaint about that. But the management and the maintenance team was bad. The manager never responded to resident's complaint and just seem to care about the residents' satisfaction. My bathroom floor tile were cracking open so I asked them to fix it. After several reschedulings, they finally came. But after they fixed the tiles, they never put the toilet stall back. The first two days, i thought fine, they would come back. But they never did until I called them because the job was checked off complete. The worst thing is that the AC doesn't really work. The Vineyard charges the premium rent, one of the highest in the valley, but the AC doesn't cool down the apartment. Ever since I moved in, only one bedroom out of the entire apartment gets cool air. All the other area doesn't. I made several service requests and they finally admit that the vent is broken. Their suggestion is to leave the AC on 24/7. And I did. But when it is over 100F outside, my apartment still can't get down below 80F. My electricity bill is over $300 and I am not being eco friendly. t is ridiculous and upsetting that the management just doesn't care. This place is a rip off! I guess the gated community is nice. But if you want to live in the desert without proper AC, come living here. Otherwise, go somewhere else. read more

The staff is great. I really appreciate Jennifer and all the helps she provides. If you are looking into this place, I would highly recommend talking to her. I'm sure a few people have had bad experiences with management...probably because they owed money. However, i think for the most part, they are fantastic. The place was built poorly (insulation) and the they cut costs by putting in poor quality refrigerators. You do pay quite a bit for this place, so i would have expected them to put in better appliances. The area is desert scape, but it would be nice to see a grass area in a couple of spots. The grounds could be kept in better shape as well. Its aesthetically losing its touch. Other than that...not a bad place to live read more

The one bedroom unit we moved into in August of 2021 was nice, but here we are July 31st/August 1st being forced to scramble and provide proof of income to remain on a moderate income program. It's not our fault that you guys can't keep enough staff and train them on the up to date protocols; I have sporadic income and therefore can't provide recent proof of income so now my roommate and I are potentially looking at either eviction or increased rent into a bracket we can't afford. I will update this to a 5 star once we have some kind of better reassurance of transitioning to a new lease without running into these types of problems. We have always paid rent on time and found a way to come up with our rent! THERE IS NO ABSOLUTE REASON WE SHOULD BE PUT INTO THIS POSITION! I AM ON VACATION FOR A FEW DAYS AND GOT IN A FIGHT WITH FAMILY OVER THIS SITUATION WHILE ALSO SCRAMBLING TO FIND THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS AT THE LAST MINUTE. DO BETTER. read more

August 2014 I moved here from LA for a new job/work. I was deciding between enclave and here but I chose this because they are the newest apartment homes in Palm Desert, the layouts are beautiful and the attached garage, glass shower doors and mirror closet doors pretty much sold me. To top if off, did I mention the super friendly staff? Jennifer was readily available and helped me with a smile all the time. The second I came in, she stopped what she was doing, grabbed the keys took my ID and in less than five minutes I was in the model apt home. Then on my move-in date, Jeff helped me by showing me my apartment first and giving me a little tips and tricks inside the apartment. He inspected it with me and reassured me that area was safe. I chose an apartment on the first floor however I'm trying to transfer to the second floor because there is a problem with bugs. I don't think the apartment people have control over that, the exterminator has already come but it is the desert...there's only so much that you can do about bugs. I can hear heavy footsteps upstairs, it sounds like there are very heavy people living upstairs. Also at times when I am going to sleep, I can hear conversations voices but I can't make out what they're saying! All of these noises are usually intermittent though. The maintenance crew is SO nice too! Update 10/23/14: Had to bring it down a couple stars. After living here for exactly 2 months, I am now able to express the what may or may not be dealbreakers for some. The adjacent and above neighbor noise is bad. Somehow the construction of the building was done with poor insulation and I can hear my neighbors conversations (normal voice) through the walls while I'm trying to sleep. Also, my upstairs neighbors vacuum and it sounds like a chainsaw/lawnmower. Their footsteps are heavy and audible but they are super thin people. Its really crazy. I did not consider myself a noise-sensitive person but its almost unbearable. Especially since I work at a hospital and have unpredictable sleep hours; its impossible to get rest at times because of the neighbors regular commotion sounding extremely loud. The other thing is that it is very very close to the desert....an actual empty lot....that blows sand and it sits in my windowsills. I have to vacuum my windows. read more

They claim to be high end apartments when several times ive personally seen people smoking marijuana outside their apartments and have had my car broken into. Im glad im out of this place!!!!! Love living here. You're near a college so expect college kids and the usual noise that comes with the territory. Everything is always clean and all my maintenance requests were addressed the same day! Friendly neighbors, walls are pretty thick compared to a lot of places, if it's quiet you might hear the tv blasting in another apartment but that's not an issue. Most people follow the curfew so it's a pretty chill apartment complex. Love the heated pool and hot tubs. Parking has never been an issue, we have an attached garage and I can always find a space for our second car. Love! read more

Unless you like smelling cigarette smoke 24/7 this community isn't for you. Everyone here smokes and you have no recourse. The management here is wonderful but their hands are tied. People smoke everywhere and the smell is overwhelming. You won't be able to leave your windows open to get fresh air ever! Many residents who live here agree this is a huge problem, however we're stuck smelling second hand smoke. It's basically a legal battle no one wants to deal with. Find a community where they have designated smoking and non-smoking areas. read more

I think the apartment is very nice and the management and maintenance guys are really responsive. However, they are really lax in the maintenance of the grounds and parking areas. There is still tons of sand all over the parking lot and in the swimming pools weeks after the terrible wind storms. I believe they are a very pet friendly community, probably one of the friendliest, but they do need to provide some grass areas for the dogs. Poor dogs are left to the sand and rocks to do their business. I would recommend the community, but just don't expect the grounds and pools to be well maintained. read more

My wife and I lived here for a year and a half, we loved the complex but the problem we had came after we moved out. About 3 months after we moved out we recieved a phone call from a dept collector telling us we owed the vineyards money. After receiving this information I called the vineyards to ask what the unpaid balance was for and they told us it was sent to the forwarding address they had from the move out contract but the only problem was that they send it to a wrong address. What im most concerned about is the fact that now I have a bad remark on my credit and we have to deal with it. Second problem we had was that We had went through the move out process which included signing documents and completing a "checklist" of things that need to be done before we give them the keys to avoid extra fees. After completing everything which including a very detailed cleaning of the appartment ( baseboards, microwave, carpet, patio, oven, fridge, shower, toilet and every square inch of the appartment) which took hours and hours to complete, we were still charged a 150 dollar cleaning fee, and a 150 dollar carpet cleaning fee. On a good note we loved the complex and the location but they do make you pay for it, in the year and a half we lived there they rised the monthly rate by almost 100 dollars. I'm blessed to have lived there but wish I had a better experience with the move out process. read more

I've moved here October 2014, and so far so good. Management has been very helpful to me. I felt that there was missing some plants in front of my front door. I did the request thinking that I'm pushing a little bit there. Well, Jeff got me 4 brand new plants planted in front of my front door. The management try to do everything to help you out here. Someone mentioned below about dust and sand, um, welcome to the desert, maybe you should move closer to the coast then. Prices are high, but it keeps the riff raff out. Very happy with my neighbors, though I will say, they need to pick up after their dogs, that's my only complaint, but that has been addressed by management many times, some people just don't listen. Don't let this place fool you!!! The apartment complex is new but the only cable provider here is Hotwire communications and they're Internet service is SUPER slow even with the highest internet service they offer I couldnt even load two pages at once. The walls in this apartment is SUPER thin!!! I can lip-sync all the music that are playing downstairs, I can hear people talking through the walls as if they were in the same room! I even heard one couple bumping and grinding next door through the paper thin walls. And if this is a pet friendly community i suggest you install some grass areas for the dogs!! poor dogs have no place to do their business other then the cement throughout the complex! yuck! I thought this place would have huge potential but it did not nearly reach my expectations! I deff do not recommend this place! read more
