Reviewer: Brandon B We're extremely disappointed with Mediterra Apartments in La Quinta. A faulty, non-code-compliant water-heater installation led to mold / water damage, forcing our family to live elsewhere for over two weeks. The City of La Quinta issued a Cease-and-Desist / Stop Work Order, yet management still charges full rent and utilities while part of our home remains sealed off under a mold-containment tent. We've received no lab results or proof that our unit is habitable, and communication from management has been nearly nonexistent. This is unacceptable and unsafe for any paying tenant. We are reserving all rights under California Civil Code § 1941.1 and § 1942, which require landlords to keep units habitable and give tenants remedies when they do not. Great apartments in a great location. La Quinta and Mediterra are hidden gems. Highly recommend. The community events here and amenities are awesome. The suns rays hit the pool just perfectly even in the winter you can sunbathe. The trees and plants around are also beautiful. Maitenance issues are addressed and management is professional. If I could give 0 stars I would. Constant, daily, nonstop gardening starting at 7 AM. You will not know peace, sleep, or a day off in this building. Think you can finally sleep in on your day off Thursday? Nope there's gonna be a leaf blower and trimmer operating right outside your window to keep you from sleeping (and it will sound AND smell like they're in your room with you!). Management doesn't care, just blames the fact it's a "third party" company and "nothing can be done about the time" which is a load of BS. if I could give 0 stars, I would! This place has ssooooo many bugs and mice it's ridiculous. management doesn't do anything about it. Maintenance came to look at mice droppings and took photos. Management hasn't done anything it. I'm actually moving out early than expected bc the noise you hear from other apts. Downstairs bedroom fan on; it shakes the upstairs bedroom! The trash pick up that we pay for is always down. Who puts grapefruit trees and berry trees in an apartment setting? This property does. You will get allergies all year round from these ridiculous trees. Another reason why there are so many pests and mice. Trash area is disgusting. Rent is definitely through the roof at Mediterra. Way over the cost of other apartments that are even nicer. One could rent a house for the price of a 1 bedroom. read more

Was shown a completely different that I believed I was renting. Residents were still living there so I couldn't see it. I trusted the leasing agent & received the smaller apt. I had already signed & paid the lease. My apt has tons of bugs that doesn't seem to go away. The windows have huge wide open gaps in them. The office & maintenance staff just come up with different lies. Had a gas leak for 5 days. I had to complain over & over to get it fixed in the winter time. The sound is insanely horrible inside the apts. You hear other residents doing laundry from midnight to 9 am. Even the A/C shakes the apt. Everything is extremely loud. You can hear all bathroom fans & W/D running. Other neighbors are rude & extremely disrespectful. For the price; these apts are inhabitable. Grapefruit trees with fruit laying everywhere. Ugh! Look elsewhere. read more

The office ladies use to be really awesome and amazing and since they got new staff this place has gone downhill. The new staff is rude, unknowledgeable and unprofessional. They don't care whether your car just got broken into inside the gated complex they told me "it's not our problem call the police" and refused to show me or the police camera footage. If you go in and ask any type of question they roll their eyes and argue. Parking is an absolute joke if you have multiple vehicles you'll end up parking outside on the street. Dog poop literally everywhere in the grass. Maintenance is the only positive thing about this place. They are solid. But they need to get new management or have them trained. read more

As a resident of the mediterra apartment homes in La Quinta for nearly 2 years, I would highly recommend this beautiful complex. The value is terrific for what you are getting. This is the closest you will get to owning your own place, and it really feels like a "home". The rent price is a great value when compared to other similar apartment complexes near by. The amenities really are great. The gym is fantastic and has everything you need for a good workout, including multiple Peleton bikes, treadmills, free weights and cables. There are 2 pool areas and both are well kept. We have friends over often and always show off the main pool area and get cozy with the private cabanas and grills provided. It's very scenic with the palm tree collection and mountainous backdrop and makes for great photos. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the maintenance service is has a modern touch, as all requests are submitted directly from their website. Never a hastle, the front desk does a great job giving a courtesy call prior to the Maintenice guys coming and once here, they are very professional, well mannered and knowledgeable. This is a big one for me, as my last apartment the Maintenice was AlWAYS a drag! Special shout out to Antonio for always going above and beyond to provide great service. He goes out of his way to make sure everything is taken care of and then some. With staff like Antonio on property, this place is a dream rental. Vlad read more

Worst place I have ever lived. They will steal your deposit! Run, don't walk. I would recommend you look at other places before you get stuck here. It's one of the more expensive places in the desert. Not worth the cost. I had to inhale dangerous chemicals while there was construction work.. They have this guy that comes and blows leaves and dust into every apartment at around 8am, very noisy and unnecessary. The place doesn't look any better after all the noise. Just scattered leaves. The main gate is always broken. So much for safety. And now, after I finally moved out, they're keeping my deposit. For no reason. The new manager is the absolute worst. Everyone knows you're only as good as your word. She said one thing, and now the complete opposite to keep my deposit. Another tenant moved into my apartment, and now they're charging us both for that period! The only saving grace is Melinda Gater. She is kind and professional. read more

My wife and I have lived here for a little over a year. We really enjoy the grounds and how dog friendly the community is. The office staff is very nice and helpful as well. I think the best thing about Mediterra is their maintenance staff. Antonio and his crew are quick to fix anything and extremely personable. They do their jobs well and get to know you while doing it. If that's not what you want, you can just tell them and they will get things done quickly and quietly. On one occasion, Antonio was in my Apt fixing a cabinet. We started talking and I shared with him that my moms AC had broke and was taking a while to get fixed. As he was working on the cabinet, he walked me through some things that he thought might be wrong with my moms AC and electrical. What he taught me helped us to work with the AC repair company to get it fixed as quickly as possible. Antonio didn't have to teach me those things, but he would go out of his way to help anyone. Told me to please write a review. Then upon moving out kept our entire deposit. It was because they wanted to change the carpets when in fact we moved in and the carpet was terrible. That's what you get for being nice and not insisting on a carpet change prior to move in. So dishonest. read more

We have been living here for the past two years and will miss this community. We are relocating and that is the only reason why we're moving out, however would be back in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises again. Melinda is amazing! She went out of her way to find a tenant to fill our unit on such a short notice (which she didn't have to, since we were terminating our lease early). She promptly answers any questions or concerns we ever have had. The maintenance crew is also very friendly, prompt and reliable. There were never any issues with our appliances or unit, only burnt out light bulbs and requests to change the air filter, and they always came the same day we put in the request. This community has a "resort" feeling to it with their pools and cabanas along with Peloton bikes (with free membership)! Although the rent is a little pricier (not by much though) than surrounding apartments, you get what you pay for. It is very quiet, safe and pet-friendly (and surprisingly, every pet owner here actually picks up after their pets). read more

Mediterra is great place to live. Nice and quiet with great amenities (Two Peloton's and a nice pool area). They also have a great location for restaurants and groceries. Amazingly comfortable apartments. Quiet, spacious, and the location is perfect. 2 minutes away from the grocery store, and there's a bus stop right across the street. Covered parking, two pools, gym, great grill area - it's got everything. Management is great, all of the rent and maintenance is easily handled through an app, the Internet is fast...don't really know what else to say, but out of all the places I've lived in the past decade, it's my favorite. We lived here for just under two years and we greatly enjoyed our time here. We came from Silverhawk Apartments and it was a night and day difference. The staff were always very caring and responsive to anything we needed, our apartment was clean upon move in day, our air conditioner worked amazing through the brutal summers, and the grounds were always well taken care of. It was quiet, parking was always available, and everything was just overall well taken care of. If we ever ended back up in the desert, Mediterra is the only apartment complex I would live at! read more

My wife and I relocated from Philadelphia in 2013 and traveled out to this Palm Springs area to look for apartments in November of that year. We must have seen 20 to 25 apartment living communities and Mediterra was the last and best community we settled on. Mediterra is probably only 6 or 7 years old and it always looks to be new, clean and updated. We actually came from apartment living in the Philadelphia area but we have never seen such attention to comfort, maintenance, superb staffing and affordable apartments. Several amenities that attracted us was convenience for shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The neighborhood is safe and Mediterra is gated. read more

He is knowledgeable in his profession and available for all maintenance circumstances that may arrive. The new management team is incredibly professional and helpful. They listened to our situation and agreed to transfer us to an upstairs unit bc of noise complaints above us. We had our doubts because we liked the previous management and we were unsure about the new one. They came through! They were quick to help us resolve an uncomfortable situation. I'm hoping this kind of courtesy toward tenants continues. Second, we had our toilet handle crack last night and it was impossible to flush the toilet. We made an emergency order hoping we'd hear back during regular business hours. Plumbing is an emergency after all. We came home this evening and everything was as it was last night. I proceeded to call the emergency after-hours hotline. They couldn't promise anything and said the on-call guy may not want to work tonight. However, Valentino Rodriguez came right away and he fixed it within five minutes. Looks like there was one person willing to listen to us. He went straight to business and fixed our problem. His response afterwards "No problem - it's my job." How simple and effective. Third, we had a scorpion come into our unit a few weeks ago. We put a bowl over it to keep it trapped to have someone remove it the next morning. We asked Ramon one of the maintenance guys, and he came right away when we asked him and took care of it. He also replaced the door sweep. Very thankful! read more

I've lived here for 3 years and I can say without a doubt that Ray has made it 10x more amazing. As a maintenance guy, there isn't anything the guy can't fix. He's personable and very knowledgeable. He lets you know step for step what he did to fix whatever broke (which happens very rarely). If something breaks, he's there in half the time they tell you. Ray makes Mediterra a breeze to live at. My family and I have lived here for almost a year now. It has been a great experience, great property managers, and great repair staff. We an issue with our lighting and Ray came and repaired it right away. Ray was super polite, friendly, and listened to our concerns. Looking to move during a pandemic is a tricky task. Mediterra apartments provided the solution. The property managers were quick to respond to my initial request and accommodated an appointment right away. I was impressed during my tour of the apartments with the amenities and how clean and well kept the landscaping was. I could easily picture myself in the community. I am not quick to make a decision so I went home and tried a couple different locations. One apartment community would only do virtual tours. I understand Covid restrictions but would you buy a car without seeing it first? I surely wouldn't and I wouldn't rent my next home without seeing it either. Luckily that wasn't the case at Mediterra. Everything seemed to be telling me Mediterra was going to be my next home. I received the call yesterday that I will be a resident. The property managers helped make the application process easy and smooth. They answered all my questions and were friendly as they did it. I am so happy to be part of the Mediterra community. read more

There are a lot of places to live in the desert, but if you feel like spoiling yourself, this is a good place to start. Here's why: Pros: 1) I misplaced my spare key the first time and they waived the cost. The second time it was stolen from my cat sitter's car and they waived another fee for me. They are accommodating, understanding, and generous. They could have charged me $70 twice, but the apartment manager was so sweet about it. 2) They make an effort for everyone to participate in something community-related at the apartment complex. For example, they collected items for Toys for Tots during Christmas, hosted a breakfast for residents, and hosted something else for Valentine's Day. They are hospitable. 3) They maintain the complex pretty well. The pools have chlorine and are fairly clean, the gym is well kept, and after landscaping/gardening my sidewalk usually has grass and leaves everywhere but they manage to clean it up in a timely manner. They're clean! 4) They have "trash day" where workers take the trash for you to the dumpster twice a week. This is really convenient as the dumpster is quite a ways for me. They take the time to serve their residents. (There is a small cost) 5) It's pretty quiet (I live on 2nd floor) so if you're a light sleeper, this is a great complex. The walls/floors/ceilings seem to be pretty thick too as I do not hear neighbors screaming or stomping around. 6) Great location - near the 10 fwy, near lots of grocery stores and restaurants. Close to Indio, not too far from Palm Desert or Palm Springs. 7) Feels luxurious - Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a very luxurious hotel and it probably has to do with #3-6. 8) Management answers emails promptly. I never wait more than 2 days for a response. Cons: 1) "24 hour maintenance" didn't mean what I thought it meant. I thought it meant that maintenance could come over in the middle of the night to fix something as soon as possible. But it actually means that they have someone over the phone to take your message for the maintenance crew when they clock in in the morning. It should really be "24 hour phone operator." 2) They do not have a recycling service. There's recycling off the complex, but nearby, instead. read more

This place is so great! It's clean, quiet, and efficient. Val, one the maintenance guys here, actually helped me with my trash. The trash gets picked up here on Mondays and Thursdays. As today is Saturday, I was taking the hot journey to the compactor. Val saw me and took all the trash I had, no problem. He couldn't have come at a better time. 100+ degrees and he's riding around the compound looking for tenants to help. Awesome read more
