Actually I have gone there over 100 times within a few years. It's family owned. The nicest people you ever want to meet. I think people give them a hard time and judge them harshly because they are over 50, speak with an anscent, deal with customers like you deal with in the "liquor consumption" type if you know what I mean. They are very rude and not helpful. They tried to hurry me to buy 2 bottles of alcohol when I was trying to see which one I wanted to purchase. Two people ahead of me in line that they did not ID then proceeded to ID me. After I acknowledged that they didn't ID the two guests before me they told me that they didn't recognize me and that they did the other guests when the law is to ID everyone. Vining's Bottle Shop is located in the Vinings Kroger shopping center. Situated right on the corner, there are plenty of places to park to run in and grab your libations of choice. The selection here is just dandy when you're looking for major brands, but don't expect to come in and find that one obscure wine you always look for. They probably don't have it. But ya know what's cool? If you want them to order it, they'll look into it and call you with a price. The price for whatcha get it spot on - you don't pay for a tasting room or any sort of sparkle, but you can come in and get whatcha want without breaking the bank. read more

Guy inside is a total pain in the ass that takes forever to scan IDs and complete your order, even when you've been inside dozens of times. If you are in your 20's do not go to this store, you're just wasting your time. They deny people over 21 with working IDs that scan, even when they offer to show birth certificates and have the police called. Staff is not friendly and does not appreciate your business. Very rude! I came inside of the shop to purchase some items, the rude lady behind the counter barely wanted to help me look for the items I needed. I get to the counter and changed my mind about an item and the lady sighed like I couldn't remove anything off my tab. So then the lady starts speaking another language to the rude guy that was behind the counter so I asked them "is there a issue with me taking something off" and they started yelling in their language. I would tend to agree with the other rating. The ownership is extremely rude and very standoffish. They treat you as if you are not welcome. The last and final time that I was in the store, they followed me around the store. I asked them to pull a bottle of bourbon that I had hunting for, off the shelf for me to purchase. The owner told me 3 times how much the bottle costs as he was pulling it down. I left the $300+ dollars of liquor on the counter, got in my car and went to Smyrna World of Beverages who treats you as if they appreciate your business and they have the best selection in the area. Probably the funniest but worst experience I've had in my life, weird old lady at counter refused to serve me because my ID is apparently fake, last time I checked I didn't think the DMV gave out fake IDs. I'm almost 24 years old, I asked them to call the police to have them come check. They refused, Owner came out and took a picture of my license plate after I cursed them out. Definitely a weird and uneasy place to be in. I don't understand how they make any money if they refuse legal customers. Wow. Y'all are hella harsh. I've never had an encounter with the owners or workers that was anything other than pleasant. Maybe not overly friendly, but perfectly nice. The prices aren't so great and the selection is decent, so there's no reason to come here if you don't live near by. I live just around the corner from this place! It's located in the Kroger shopping center. The owners are great people and they are very helpful if you need it, but they don't hassle you if you are browsing their selection. The prices are ON POINT! It's the cheapest liquor store in the Smyrna/Vinings area for sure. Also-- I look young, but they always remember me and don't ID apart from the first time. The store is never crowded, and the employees are very professional. It's an in-and-out trip; never had to wait in line. If you need other stuff, Kroger is 50 feet away! read more

Being back in a state where Liquor is sold in separate stores from grocery, found these guys on a whim. Theyre located near Kroger in Vinings, so not inconvenient from the shopping center. Selection is pretty good, and they'll even take suggestions if you don't see something in stock (I've been trying to get Heavy Seas from Baltimore down south here). THIS STORE DO NOT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE I walked into this store dressed up and the older lady cashed me out on my drinks (very rude and removed the price off my wine). The very next day I came back not dressed. I had on a sweat shirt and jeans she refused to serve me with the same invalid ID she accepted the day before. I ran to the place I was staying and grabbed my passport and Temp ID to back up the invalid ID (my licence expired on my birthday and I had to have it renewed). The older lady still refused to serve me. I believe she and her husband discriminate on what you wear and the color of your skin. Do not walk into this store in regular clothes. Went in today to ask about a rye. While speaking with the lady a man came out from behind a door, twice, and gave me the most evil look and then glared at me as he went back & closed the door. I asked the woman why would he do that as I am patronizing his business? Her response was, "just because". Because what? I live and work right here so I stop in several times a month. Each time nobody is friendly or pleasant. The prices are inflated and the selection is poor. If you can go somewhere else like Smyrna World of Beverage where they are helpful with smiling faces with much to choose from at competitive prices, do that. I look young, however I am 25. Each time I go there its the same story, I feel like I am 18 trying to buy alcohol as she looks at my ID hard and long like it is fake. I mean come on lady, sorry I look young but do we have to do this every time? I went in there recently with a 1 week expired ID and she was like, sorry can't take it. I traveled and went through TSA with no problems, she obviously knew I had shopped there before but her and I guess it was her son chose to be snarky. Vinings Bottle Shop is a good store with a decent selection, and the location is great. Definitely not. The lowest prices that I've seen, but sometimes it's worth it to pay a little extra for the convenience. The owners and staff are always friendly, and I love the fact that their dog is there. I used to be a frequent customer here. My family and I have spent LOTS of money at this store and have become quite acquainted with the owners. Today,however; I was treated with the WORST customer service by the wife of the owner. A ginger beer can fell on the floor because the plastic wrapper was loose and the wife claims that we "broke it, so you buy it". What???? As much money and loyalty we provide this family business I am in SHOCK that she would even fix her lips to say that. She then threw the loose change that I left on the counter for the "broken" can at my back as I walked out the door. I will NEVER come back to this location. They cheat their taxes when you pay cash and get upset if you question it, on top of that I find cheaper prices down near the intersection of West Paces Ferry and Cobb Parkway even when they do charge you sales tax. I Live right near this shop and stop in on occasion to grab a six pack or bottle of gin for my place and the service is never bad, nor is it great. But it's never been anything to invoke any emotion. It's a quick transaction, in, out, have a nice day. But today I was going on behalf of the company I work for to get $100+ worth of beer/liquor, to stock in our fridge that we give to customers. It started out great. The gentleman was boxing up the six packs and the lady behind the counter gave me my total and I said do you take Amex? She said yes. I said great it's a gift card with $13 left on it and I'll pay the rest in cash. She replied "we prefer one payment." I said "you prefer it, but you'll make an exception?" The man ( guessing the owner) came over waving at me and said "one payment." Kinda bullied the lady who seemed as if she'd make an exception. But finally she said no too. One payment. Presumably now he was waving good bye in my face when he said "one payment only." I was like damn - money is money isn't it? It was very rude and the opposite of service oriented. I guess he's waved goodbye to my business but clearly he doesn't care. I wasn't a great customer, but a customer none the less, but I definitely won't be back. Super odd! read more
