$2 oyster happy hour is 4-5pm daily and all day Sunday. They have a nice selection of wines including orange wine. They are understaffed, there's only one person bartending/serving and another in the kitchen. There was a long wait to be seated, a long wait to order and a long wait to get our oysters. 20% gratuity is added to all orders, which is ridiculous considering the slow service. Like many great things in life, my two friends and I stumbled upon this place while trying to walk off the insane amount of Thai food we had just consumed down the street and wanted to pop in somewhere for a drink. We had not researched this place ahead of time, but, were drawn in because it looked cute and my friends love wine. The space inside is really cute - very millennial-coded with plenty of monstera plants and disco balls to go around. We came in on a Thursday evening around 8ish pm and there were only a couple other people inside, at the end of the seated banquet. There was one person working the bar area and she was very helpful and friendly. It seemed like they had a great selection of wines I had never even heard of, but, their reds were limited. We ended up ordering red wine, I ordered a cocktail off of their negroni menu since they were having "negroni week" and the bartender told us they do different "weeks" every week, and we got spur-of-the-moment sparkling wine jello shots (which had edible glitter in them!) The jello shots packed quite a punch and my cocktail was really good. My friends seemed to enjoy the wine and the service was great. I hope that they would have more staff on hand if it gets more crowded, but, this place doesn't seem like it can accommodate too many people anyways. Their Dolly Parton power hour caught my eye and I would love to come back to check that our on a Sunday. The prices seemed fairly average for the area - the cocktail was $15 and I think the wines were more or less the same. read more

Vinnie's is next door to Navy Strength, a popular tiki bar with a rotating cocktail menu. I've been there many times, but a friend and I decided to pop into Vinnie's after craving some oysters. The space is small, but warm. The kitchen is behind the bar, creating an open concept. The decor ties in well with Navy Strength, but also holds its own as an intimate environment. We were sat immediately, and our server, Ford, was really awesome and gave us lots of information about the food, the concept, and some of his favorites. We happened to make it for happy hour and got a deal on wine, oysters, and the cheese platter. The oysters were a good price for a dozen, and included a hot sauce and a vinaigrette. We had three varieties - all fresh and delicious, definitely huge. The cheese board had three cheese on it, ranging from a bleu to a soft brie-like cheese. I was unsure of the spread it came with, but ended up loving it after I gave it a chance. It was salty, but blended perfectly with the cheeses. Lastly, we ordered the boquerones, which were deviled eggs with anchovies. It was just a big enough portion to enjoy before getting sick of anchovies. Overall, we had a great time - exponentially increased by the helpful and friendly staff. We're looking forward to coming back to this spot in both of our neighborhoods! read more

We came here for the first time because of Sippin' Santa, the tiki-themed pop-up bar event that happens in December. If you've been to Miracle, it's like that, but better! So this review is specifically for Sippin' Santa. The bar is attached to Navy Strength and is pretty small. They do take reservations, but walk-ins are welcome, so we decided to try our luck shortly before Xmas. We went soon after they opened, which I think helped -- it got busy soon after we sat down. As it was, we were offered a choice between seats at the bar, and a table that we could have for an hour, so we took the bar. It seems like each participating bar has some leeway in how they decorate, and Vinnie's did a good job, with strings of lights, ornaments in the thatched-roof bar, and oversized "presents" wrapped in midcentury paper. The bartenders were all dressed in either holiday sweaters or aloha shirts, so it felt fun and festive. The Sippin' Santa drinks menu is small, just a handful of choices on two pages, but each one comes in cute holiday-themed glassware with swizzle sticks and fruit garnish. You can buy all the glasses separately, and I seriously considered the barrel mug that the Shaka Kalikimaka came in. There's also a very small food menu that's just bar snacks (like sliders and deviled eggs), but we didn't eat here. We had the Xmas Eve of Destruction, the Shaka Kalikimaka (a slushy gin drink), and the Sippin' Santa. Each one was well-made, with interesting flavors and liqueurs, so don't worry about sickly-sweet umbrella drinks! Although the menu is small, they include different spirits like overproof rum, tequila, and gin. The drinks run about $14-15 each, but they're strong enough that you don't need many. And yes, they do have a colada that comes in a coconut mug. Service was fast and friendly at the bar, and the bartenders made good, strong drinks. If you've been to Miracle in Seattle and just thought it was so-so, try Sippin' Santa -- it has better drinks, more decorations, and servers who are in the holiday spirit. Put on your most festive holiday attire and enjoy a tiki getaway for Xmas. read more

we waited for a total of about 20min and received no food. the restaurant was. empty alert form us (2 people) and another part of 2. the customer service was very much lacking, we asked for a simple recommendation and our waitress with brown hair and glasses simply pointed us to read the menu behind the bar. we ended up ordering ahi tacos and half a dozen oysters. all raw food that we never received. we noticed the white women next to us got their order of a dozen oysters, finished that plate and got their next order of food before we recover any of our food. we walked about, very disappointing experience considering i had previously raved about this place. read more

Caught a show at the Crocodile, and needed some food after. Wandered into Vinnie's. What a find! Food was delicious, staff was awesome, and we got educated on natural wines. Nicole was running the place, and if you want to know about wine, go see her! She's a sweetheart and incredibly knowledgeable. Has direct years in the business, and really knows her stuff. The chef was great, and incredibly talented. I didn't catch his name, but another Seattle gem. Great guy, everything we ordered was fresh and delicious! We came here during our stops through No Anchor, Navy Strength, and Rob Roy. Overall, the food was good, service was friendly, and the wines were excellent. We shared a couple bottles of their natural wines and enjoyed the seafood tower. Dad's chowder was served a bit cooler than preferred, but the broccoli was tasty. This took over the old Navy Strength Coffee place. The oysters are pretty great right now, even though it's not oyster season, so don't shy away because it isn't a month with R in it. The cocktails are just as good as any other Anu & Chris place (Rob Roy, Navy Strength, No Anchor) and the natural wines are a lot of fun. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Before even ordering drinks, was asked to see ID. My wife didn't have hers with her, so we were denied service. I am 81 and my wife is 76. Must have ID to have oysters? I should have asked to see the manager but was too shocked. This seems like an arbitrary decision on the restaurant's part. It's not as if business has been great this past year and a half! The service was very mediocre; the server was on his phone a lot and we had to call out across the restaurant to him to get his attention. Was excited to try their holiday cocktails, but knew they'd be busy so I made a reservation for 6pm. Came into Vinnie's a few minutes beforehand and noticed every table was full, aka, there was no reserved table for my party. When I was approached by the host/waiter Ford N (as indicated on the receipt, he never introduced himself so I'm not sure if that's even him), I saw on his tablet that they DID have my reservation on the books but he told me they were "waiting for a table to clear out, but it's unpredictable with drinks how long a party will really take." I'd completely understand if we had walked-in, but that is unacceptable for a reservation! My party didn't end up being seated until **6:52pm.** There was no apology, no free appetizers, no free drinks, or anything. Then, when we ordered a round of drinks, one was later than the rest and Ford brought over a free drink a couple minutes later (her actual drink didn't come by for another 15-20 minutes). Even as the bar began to die down and tables were emptying, Ford didn't ask us ONCE if we were doing okay, or if we wanted another round of drinks, he simply came around to refill our water carafe. SUPER, SUPER disappointed in the service here. read more
