It's been 4 years since I last stayed here and my stay has been great for the most part. We are Shell Vacations owners and was able to use our points to reserve a 1 bedroom. My biggest issue every time I book here is after driving 5-6 hours from LA, I really don't want to have to deal with someone trying to get me to attend an owners meeting. I wish I could just check in and be given my parking pass and keys and be on my way. But instead, after checking in and getting my keys, I have to see the rep to get my parking pass and listen to their pitch. She tried very hard to get me to attend a meeting using all of the sales tricks, but I was not going to bite. I understand she needs to make money, but I wish they would eliminate this process. They now have a new check in area and you no longer have to go into the Meritage Hotel to check in. The check in desk is now in the lobby of the Cabernet building. I'm glad they finally did something to that area. They also added a Valet area that's complimentary for guests. These 2 changes have elevated our experience. Our room was comfy and the king bed was nice and firm. I wished I would have brought my own pillow as these hotel pillows are horrible. They also provide you with a welcome bottle of wine and water bottles. Which you could ask for more when you run out. For some reason though, the left side of the bed smells like sweaty feet. I don't know if they didn't do a good job vacuuming or maybe the water from the tub might have leaked in to the carpet. Also, the outlet against the wall separating the tub and bedroom did not have any power to it. So maybe it could be a leak. I did experience a couple of issues with the TV in the bedroom as when connecting my AppleTV to one of the HDMI ports, it did not allow me to switch to that source. I finally figured it by having to connect my phone to the hotel WiFi and then connecting to the Google Cast and then that activated the HDMI ports to allow me to then switch to the port where my AppleTV was connected. The ports on the TV in the Living room worked fine and allow me to switch to a different port without any issues. Their WiFi here was horrible. I was only able to get about 5-10mbps down, but the upload speed was around 20mbps. They definitely need to upgrade their Wireless infrastructure or at least provide the option to plug in using a network cable. The room for the most part was clean, minus the bedroom smell. Housekeeping still needs to do a better job behind the furnitures. One thing to note, when we came in to our room, I noticed that the patio door was ajar and the sliding door in the bedroom was unlocked. This wouldn't concern me much, however, we were on the first floor and there's a footpath right behind us. Housekeeping really needs to be meticulous about things like this. Overall, I am still happy with our stay here and my stay would definitely be elevated if they fixed the WiFi speed issues. read more

I'm an original Shell owner and upgraded to Wyndham (yes I was suckered twice). This resort was once the showcase resorts for Shell and now Wyndham. They separated from the Meritage. Don't let them sell you a timeshare. You will be disappointed, constantly squeezed to upgrade and utterly confused on the continuous changes in ownership schemes. Run, don't walk from all Wyndham products at this point. They're really good at setting the bait. I got hooked twice. read more

We have been a part of the time share portion of Vino Bello for over 15 years. The time share registration is now in the Cabernet building and separate from the main hotel registration which is good and bad. You have to talk to the time share employees now before leaving which you could choose to talk or not talk previously. We were given some misinformation from the time share employee that said we absolutely had to make an appointment with her regarding some changes and couldn't handle online or over the phone. She didn't know we had already taken care of it over the phone previously. Disappointing. There are some differences I do miss from the old registration desk, for example the wonderful custom service we were accustomed to receiving. We have always liked Vino Bello as it is convenient to get around Napa Valley and close to downtown. But, in the 15+ years we're have stayed there, the rooms have never been renovated. They have a choice from a studio with a kitchenette or a full kitchen in the 1 bedrooms. Washer and dryers, etc. There is a nice sports bar/restaurant with bowling, shuffle board etc., but doesn't open until after 5pm during off season. Disappointing. There is also another restaurant available onsite. Since we arrived a little later than planned, we put down our luggage and immediately headed out for dinner. We didn't necessarily check the room thoroughly. A few issues such as no body wash, 1 roll of TP, no coffee, lightbulbs out in kitchenette, no bright lights in bathroom for getting ready, in fact all the lighting is dim in the room. Plus, the air conditioner runs very loud and little to no insulation between rooms. We could clearly hear the conversation of the people next door. As we walked out for the day, we asked the front desk for coffee and body wash. They said they don't keep anything at the front desk. When we arrived back to the room later that night, there was body wash and a towel. No coffee. We asked nicely again for coffee and it arrived the next day. So odd. Overall, we like the resort but it needs a serious renovation. Time share employees need customer service training, cleaning staff need training on restocking rooms and ensuring everything is in working order. read more

Spent over 30 min on the phone waiting for a customer service rep to pick up the phone. Both times at the 15 min mark of the held phone call it automatically hung up. What a waste of 30 min of my life. Problem is that because the washer in the room flooded the room they gave me a $200 room credit. I used it at the store prior to checking out and bought 6 bottles if wine and a couple other things. Tital charge was $206. Fast forward almost a month and the $200 has not been credited back to me yet. Ended up calling the Meritage Resort number and had my problem fixed and my money refunded within 2 minutes. Overall I had an okay stay. The best part of this was when I checked in at the Meritage concierge by a trainee. I don't remember his name but he was so professional and friendly! If his name tag didn't say trainee I probably couldn't even tell he was one! His customer service was wonderful and it was a highlight of my stay. When I arrived into my room I had a complimentary bottle of red wine waiting for me on the table. The beds were alright however the pillows were too flat for me. Maybe it's just I'm getting old and I need to start bringing my own pillow or something. The room looks a bit old as the style is def not modern but it was fine. I had a good view of the pool and their vineyard. Luckily there was nothing wrong with my room! My colleagues' room on the other hand had a broken AC unit. She told the front desk and they came to fix it right away. I was able to visit the pool one of my nights. I liked that there was a kids pool too, very shallow. There are towels there and bbq equipment but I didn't see anyone using it. What was difficult staying here was the limited parking. We had to park on the street twice because the lot was full. It kinda made the parking permit/pass nonsensical. Anyway it was a decent stay and the location is close to the main road if you're looking for a Napa getaway! read more

We appreciated the spacious rooms, but they are definitely outdated. One major downside was the lack of housekeeping--no services until the 4th day of our stay, and no option to get fresh towels, coffee, or cream refills in the meantime. You have to go to the lobby for fresh coffee once you finish what's in the room. Communication was also disappointing. We tried calling to confirm our reservation before arry, but no one ever answered. Even after leaving a voicemail, we never received a call back. We were lured into attending a 90-minute timeshare presentation with the promise of a gift, but what was offered--a one-week stay in a subpar location--was not appealing and made us even less interested in joining Wyndham club. Transferred to a "back room" -- yippee! "Back room" then transferred me to "RCI" -- huh? The system into which I was transferred is, get this, CLOSED for the holiday. DO NOT BUY POINTS HERE. This was located around the corner in a quiet area within site of the pool. On this cool fall weekend the pool area was quiet unlike during warmer times like summer. Quiet is nice! After a few nights the place was still great but a few things I wanted to mention. The mattress is extremely soft, just FYI. I am more of a firm mattress person so this was different for me. Also during our stay we did not receive any new towels or trash pick up while we were there. Now I will say the day after we arrived we did place the do not disturb sign on the door for that day only, so that may have been towel exchange day but I'm not sure. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and the weather was beautiful. read more

After driving several hours, I was really looking forward to checking in and getting some rest. My toddler was asleep when we arrived, but as soon as we transferred him and walked into our room, we were greeted with extremely loud construction noise coming from the other side of the wall. I understand repairs and construction happen, but it would've been nice to have been warned in advance and offered the option to be placed in a quieter room. Disappointed, I called the front desk and was told they would send a bellboy to move our things to another room. We waited and waited, but no one ever came. I had to call again and explain the entire situation a second time. By then, the whole experience felt inconsiderate and frustrating. What makes this so disappointing is that prior to this, I truly loved the property and could easily have seen myself staying here again. Positives: -beautiful lobby with an occasional comp wine tasting. -comp glass of champagne at the vino bello concierge (way in back of lobby) upon checking in -free parking, just need to get the paper tag -comp bottle of wine in room -nice walking trial right behind resort in vineyard Negatives: -decor is dated -cold water only in both of our 2 suite rooms right next to each other at 4-5pm on a Friday...so random...is everyone checking in on a Friday & showering - the pool stinks! The nice pool off the lobby is for Meritage guests only. No recliners or pillow cushion seats for hard wrought iron upright chairs. Shade is scarce & no pool service as in older much nicer pool. Happy to visit as a guest but not worth the amount of points my timeshare friend had to use. read more

They stole our money and won't give it back. We thought it was just us, but then I open Priceline to leave them a bad review and I see someone else complaining about the exact same issue and the exact same amount of money. Beware - they steal money and then refuse to respond to you to clear up the issue, so it's not a mistake and something they do on purpose. First they charged us double the amount, then they refunded some of it, but still not all. We are missing $100 and nobody there will respond to us via phone or email no matter how much we try. It's been almost 2 months and my husband hasn't been successful, I'm about to get involved and bring my lawyer along. This is not an accident, it's a pattern of them stealing as much money as they can get away with. read more

We visited Vino Bello both Thanksgiving week and Christmas week. It is a wonderful resort and now that registration for Vino Bello is separate from the co-located Meritage Resort, it has improved. However, they still have room to meet customer service expectations at a resort. A call to the office for something you need in the room (extra coffee?) or a service call for a malfunctioning dishwasher might result in hours wait and repeat calls. Also, the entire resort parking lot is now valet only, so parking on the street is often limited. Its a lovely place and has a lot to offer, but they're not there yet in terms of the resort experience. read more

ANTS EVERYWHERE!! I'm going to keep this short and sweet.... Our first room was 3217 and the first night we woke up to HELLA ants crawling from the front door entrance, over the closet and on to our kitchen counter over all our food and snacks. They moved us to 3316 and found more ants! All over the bathroom and kitchen. I went to the front desk again and they upgraded us to a suite and gave us $200 spending credit. When we got to Suite 3310 we notice dead ants in the entry, in the kitchen sink and a few live ones around the outlets and in the bathroom. We didn't complain to front desk again because it was our last night and weren't going to leave any food out. read more

They don't provide barbecue grills for each room. The only once available is by the pool area. One and a half works out of five grills. Only five grills for the entire community. Ridiculous! No back up either incase their built in are out of order. Looks like their quality is going down. Pool entrance gates are not working either. Some of their gate pass readers are also out of commission. Pool didn't have towels! read more

We are timeshare owners and this is our second time at this resort. The first time was great, the room was awesome and we had a great time. We DID get roped into going to a timeshare presentation and we lost quite a lot of our day. This time, we got lucky and checked in late at night when they either weren't there or were expecting us to come back to them (we skedaddled right after checking in to the meritage desk ). The room is definitely showing signs of age but it was clean. The hallways did have some needed repairs as well. Nonetheless, the beds were comfortable, the fridge was large, and we got a free bottle of wine to welcome us. The worse thing about this place is that it's hard to find parking at night when everyone is back from their day adventures. read more

I've been going to vino bello for 11 years. The last couple of years it's really gone downhill. They put us in a room that was filthy dirty. We had to wait hours after checkin to get it cleaned. They are supposed to clean room every 4 days. Two years in a row they haven't even though I've got 4 rooms for a week. Management doesn't help or return calls. I called a day before this year to make sure it was cleaned and it wasn't. We needed towels, to, dish towels etc. you can imagine with all the rooms and people. So very disappointed in the management. We are going to skip next year and hopefully they improve. read more

Imagine you book your 1-bedroom with full kitchen a month in advance and are looking forward to spending Mother's Day weekend and celebrating your partner's 60th birthday with your two teens, yep that's 4 of us. You arrive at 5 pm on a Friday to check in for your time share, where you used points and paid fees, and they say, oh sorry there's no 1 bedroom available. We can give you a studio. What?! Let me check with my manager. Oh we can give you a studio with 2 queens. Can we have two studios? No sorry we're all sold out. So you trudge to your room disappointed, but you're here now, what are you going to do? You have wineries, restaurant and spa reservations all weekend, you can't leave. You get to the studio room and it's two FULL size beds not queens. You call the front desk, nothing they can do. Sure, they gave you $150 resort credit which doesn't even amount to a full meal for 4 or one night's stay. It's California, that's nothing. It barely pays for a full tank+ of gas for our trip here. You try to call the front desk, housekeeping or concierge at 8 pm and it rings at least 50 times each. Trying to see how long would it take but eventually gave up. We need extra pillow, sheets, blanket and towel so my son can sleep on the floor, because oh they don't do roll out beds, no hot plate or pots either, just the tiniest TV ever. So we can't cook anything because yeah no full kitchen from our original reservation. We have minimal space because yeah, no 1 bedroom from the original reservation. Note, I've been here twice before and it was lovely then, but no longer. The stores and restaurants across the way were dead too for a Friday night. The patio also is not clean from the best and bird poop. I wouldn't have come out or booked it if I knew it was a studio. Thanks for a disappointing and sad start to what was supposed to be a celebratory weekend. No thanks, I won't be back. read more

When your favorite anniversary location calls less than 24 hours before check in to say they overbooked you and that you're being cancelled on, you have to leave a review and tell others. I love this place. We go here almost every anniversary. But an error this large can't be overlooked. They sent reminders and confirmations leading up to our check in date. They even sent a reminder and confirmation the day before our trip only to get a call and be cancelled on a few hours later. We made our reservation nearly a year ago. This wasn't a last minute booking. We were booked and confirmed. I will say we were placed in another property which was nice, but this whole debacle really screwed our anniversary trip. read more

Epic Disappointment! Booked this vacation for a celebration of my husband's 65th birthday and his cancer-versary (throat cancer survivor). So far, all I can say is that this "resort" is underwhelming at best. Registration process was incredibly slow & unnecessarily complicated by having to go get a parking pass which necessitated setting up a mandatory time share "meeting". In addition to a $400 refundable "incidental" charge, we were charged ANOTHER $40 FOR A "REFUNDABLE TOUR DEPOSIT" to force us to attend this hard-sell timeshare sales pitch. We're already Wyndham timeshare owners and this trip was booked with our points. This isn't one of those discounted vacations where you have to promise to sit through pushy timeshare sales pitches. The front desk (or timeshare pushers) never even told us how to locate the room. Despite having had to promise our vacation time to the timeshare vultures for these magical parking passes, there was no parking to be found (even handicapped spaces) anywhere near our room when we arrived. The room itself is VERY disappointing. We have a lovely view from the patio of a storage container. Room size is much smaller than the pictures lead you to believe. There is no room to put out a luggage rack without blocking access to the front or patio door. Other than a closet with a few hangers, there is very little storage for clothes unless you want to use the sticky drawers of the "kitchenette". Opening any of the drawers actually has an audible noise of it coming unstuck. The TV is less than 30" and so far away from the bed as to be almost pointless. The bathroom has the oddest smell, which my husband identified for me... sewer gas. The bathroom tub grout is either mildew-y, dirty, or missing. There's a mysterious open hole in the ceiling that I find worrisome after seeing all of the "hidden cam" warning videos. This just doesn't feel like the romantic birthday/celebration that I'd pictured. It feels like a room that you would get when you book a hotwire "deep discount" rate and "Karen" the front desk staff. We're going to make the best of this week, but we definitely won't be booking here in the future. read more

This review is solely for the Club Wyndham Preview Center at 2700 Napa Valley Corporate Dr, Napa, CA (did not stay at Vino Bello Resort) My partner and I were offered a "free 4 night vacation" if we sat in on 120-minute timeshare presentation. We drove 1.5 hours all the way up to Napa from San Jose. Turns out, the "free 4 night vacation" is given by Grand Incentives Inc and NOT Wyndham. If you google search Grand Incentives Inc, plenty of complaints on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website say it is a scam. Sigh. i am very sad about this. Anyway, wanted to warn everyone, if something seems too good to be true...it is. We got lucky that our salesman Manny was not pushy at all (Manny was actually a really nice guy!). Our friends however who accompanied us got stuck with Tomar, who according to them, was pushing high pressure sales tactics. I guess it's luck of the draw with your salesman. First off I can't stand when management doesn't communicate with their staff. This is an updated review from when we stayed here this past July. We have stayed here numerous times because of our time share. Checked in today around 5pm and asked concierge for house slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste. The lady took our order and inputted into the computer. She did inform me that it would take a few hours and I said that's fine, we are going to dinner. She took down our room number. Arrived back from dinner around 10pm and found nothing in our room. Found out toothbrush and toothpaste were left in the other room and no slippers were provided. So I called concierge again and the guy said we will rush those up. Waited a good 40 minutes and no one came up nor called. So I went downstairs to the front desk to ask in person and Francesca was there. She then told me that that don't provide slippers to guests. I told her every time we have stayed here they have provided house slippers and as recent as 6 months ago in July. I know it's just slippers but I asked to speak to a supervisor / manager because it's a simple principle that a large resort should be able to communicate to its staff that they don't give slippers anymore. Apparently there was no manager or supervisor to speak to at night either. My rant could have been avoided. This review could have been avoided if the First Lady informed us or if the second guy had informed me. I could have been avoided if I just brought some. I didn't need to walk down in the cold at 11pm just did get an answer that they don't provide slippers to guests. I just received some slippers 6 months ago during our stay. So when they stopped giving it to guests (when ever that was) there has been enough time for the entire staff to know. Poor communication to the staff from management. On the last day of my families stay, I discovered part of the reason why the main suites bathroom smelled: mildew was prevalent. There was a sewer like smell, unable to be masked by using the lemon room spritz from Trader Joe's, that means a lot! We have been members for 20 years. So disappointing what has become of the Vino Bello. So many perks have been removed. Table in the entry with flowers Newspaper Robes Many many kitchen accessories. Pots, pans, dishes, All have been reduced to the very bare minimum. The maintenance of the rooms. Music that used to be played on the property. Trying to call and get extra anything, is next to impossible. It was such a great place. Not worth the money if you are a regular paying guest. read more

I've been coming here since the property only had the Meritage building. Shell Vacations Club started building the other units and selling timeshare. They used to be nice. Wyndham bought Shell. I pay 6K a year in maintenance fees. The attached photos show you how Wyndham maintains the property. They wonder why no one wants to attend their sales presentations, listen to lies, or purchase more points to not get the benefits you paid for. I'm VIP and the vast majority of the special perks the VIPs are supposed to get, I haven't received in a couple years. Wyndham always has some convenient excuse. They would get zero stars if zero was an option. The last time we stayed, our zacuzzie tub was broke. It took several visits to the manager to get it fixed.
