We've had the opportunity to visit Bar Harbor twice while cruising, and we make it a point to visit this wonderful shop of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Owners of the shop are very nice and helpful. Nicely organized store and they have a vast selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars to try. We'd buy more but didn't want to haul multiple bottles back to the cruise ship. Luckily they offer online ordering and shipping. We did however purchase a large bottle of their black garlic balsamic vinegar - rich and exquisite in flavor. This store is a highlight for us when we visit Bar Harbor! read more

If you're in Bar Harbor, take a moment to get away from the main tourist street and visit this little gem. It's fully outfitted for tastings of all kinds of olive oils (and other specialty oils), as well as white and red vinegars (plus some specialty aged ones!) The women working here are all super knowledgeable, and not only know what they're doing but are also passionate. My husband and I were worried we were wasting their time by trying everything, but they were encouraging and very, very helpful. I especially love that the flavors change depending on the season/harvest, and the prices are surprisingly affordable. Everything is freshly packaged when you're ready to buy, and they do online shopping/ship to you as well! I really love this place. We've reordered from their online store since Maine is a little far, and haven't been disappointed with the quality. This is the "mother ship" of the two locations, the other in rockland. The woman working there was so friendly, engaging and knowledgable about all the products it was hard not to get excited to try them all. The concept seems so simple, but the creations are anything but. They make all of their own vinegars and oils right there. They provide recommendations for each as well as what oil mixes best with what vinegar. You can create your own salad dressings, marinades or just add amazing flavor while you cook. They have beautiful kitchen tools such as curets and dishes also. Everything there is available for sample and they encourage it. They provide tiny cups, pieces of bread, pretzels as crackers. They even have some tasty jams and spreads to try. It seems strange to wander around drinking vinegar and oil but I assure you, it will be memorable and you won't be able to leave empty handed. They fill each bottle upon your order, offering 3 sizes. They even provide a discount for empty bottles at your next visit. Some of the vinegar such as the pomegranate quince is prefect mixed with seltzer or on top of shaved ice, it was a wonderful sweetness. The espresso vinegar would be perfect to add to a chicken dish. The lemon oil is great for cooking fish. I could go on and on but instead I will get back to the kitchen and enjoy my purchase. read more

This place is outstanding. They have free tastings of all of their oils and vinegars accompanied by little pieces of bread. They have some of the most unique flavors of oils and vinegars I have ever seen. After tasting about every oil and vinegar they had...let's just say I did not voluntarily eat anything oily for the rest of the day haha...I ended up buying their dark chocolate vinegar, which is mind blowing. I also bought their tuscan herb and white truffle olive oil. The white truffle oil was so good that we ended up mixing some in our lobster butter with some herbs. Hey we were in Maine. Educational AND delicious. Great for wedding presents! They have a tasting room with a wide variety of flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The olive oil is all extra virgin and cold pressed without the pits, and the vinegar is aged between 12-18 years, and all from Modena, Italy. I absolutely love this place, and its staff. This place is amazing! I only stumbled upon this little shop due to a food tour I was on. FIORE is a one of a kind place that I had no idea existed. Essentially, its like a buffet that allows you to sample all different flavors and kinds of balsamics and olive oils. I, of course, wound up purchasing some yummy peach white vinegar, so tasty and fresh! It is absolutely delicious to eat on a salad! But the great thing about all of the items, is that they have signs informing what the product would best be used on. I even loved this place so much, that I brought my family back for the full experience. Take your time through this store and really savor all the flavors! read more

What a great little shop! They have a bunch of vinegars and olive oils that you can spend as much time as you want sampling. The staff is extremely helpful and will explain how things are made, how they differ and the best order to taste. After tasting, our list was so long I had to pare it down quite a bit so we didn't walk out of there poor. LOL The prices are higher than what you would pay in a supermarket, but there is no comparison due to the quality, flavors and selection. They also have some recipes around to give you ideas on how to use their products. read more

This place is A-MAZING! My friend and I sampled every single balsamic vinegar they had in the place. And call me naive, but I had no idea there could be so much difference from one to another. This store is a tasting room for flavored Balsamic Vinegars and Virgin Olive and Specialty Oils. You cannot get any fresher product because they 'Follow the Crush' as these oils become ready and ripe around the world. Your mouth will not believe the combinations of these blended tastes. Vinegars that are blended are blended at the time of the crush and then held for 12-18 YEARS to develop these amazing tastes. I met Nancy and her staff during my visit to my sister this past summer. I was totally captivated by the flavors of both oils and vinegars. I use the Blackberry Ginger Balsamic vinegar EVERY day and pray Nancy never runs out. There are others my family loves as well but the Blackberry Ginger has won my heart and palate. So much so that every friend and family on our Christmas list is receiving a bottle plus an oil and the small tasting dishes. Amazing peach balsamic vinegar.

I visited their Rockland location in 2011 after the Maine Lobster Festival and decided to visit their sister location since I was in the Bar Harbor area. The location itself is well stocked with the same great selection of vinegars and olive oils. It's a bit away from the commonly walked on streets and the building doesn't stand out, so it's easy to walk by if you're not looking specifically for the place. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I usually buy the 750ml bottles from them and they definitely hold their flavor for the 5-6 months they stay on my shelf. Their selection is great, the staff is knowledgeable about their products, and they encourage tastings so that you have a full understanding of what you're buying. As a side note, their online ordering process is very smooth and easy as well. They sell a great product. Keep in mind that they don't pretend to be a fancy Italian, Greek, etc. olive oil producer, but focus on being artisans at flavoring their product - I overheard a debate on this topic while in the store. I'll continue being a repeat customer. read more

Such a unique experience and so glad we went! The staff's tour, though brief, was spectacular. She was so knowledgeable and made me very excited to taste test so many of their products. My husband was captivated by their raspberry vinaigrette, which we ultimately purchased. There were many others that came in a close second. I highly recommend stopping here, tasting the amazing flavors available, and taking something back for your home! (And if not for you, these would be adorable gifts!) read more
