It may be disheartening to work in the kitchen of a restaurant like this. I dropped in to eat on a Wednesday night at 9 pm, and was promptly seated at the bar. After several moments of being ignored by the bar staff, a server finally showed up and asked me did I had been served yet. I said no and ordered. A glass of wine soon followed, as did a wonderful appetizer of smoked mackerel pate -- genuinely terrific. From there, with my glass of wine dwindling,I probably waited another 30 minutes for anyone to appear. Finally, I made eye contact with another server, who said something to another, who then left for the kitchen. Another 15 minutes later, a server left my main with me, but didn't stop to ask if would like anything else. The main of roast cod was cooked absolutely perfectly; it was wonderful. Finally, though, 15 minutes after I was finished, I needed to ask someone to come over, and eventually I received my bill. The food was great here, but the service was so poor and inhospitable I doubt that I will return or recommend it to anyone else. read more
