I booked a Mother's Day appointment for myself and my mom on Friday, and the experience was upsetting from start to finish. Even though we had appointments, we both had to wait, and my mom ended up sitting alone across the salon for about 45 minutes while my nails were being done. By the time someone finally started on her, my set was almost finished. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing Mother's Day outing together. The cleanliness was also concerning. Neither of us were asked to wash our hands before services, and the UV light I had to place my hands into felt gritty and dirty on my palms. The salon overall did not feel clean or sanitary. The actual nail work was very poor. Neither my mom nor I received proper cuticle cleanup, so the polish already looked grown out after less than a week. My first dip set was uneven, bumpy, crooked, and messy around the cuticles, which is why I returned Saturday morning to have them fixed. Unfortunately, the redo was even worse than the original set. The shape was still uneven, product was left on my skin and cuticles, and the nails looked sloppy overall. I was also charged again for the redo despite the original set being poorly done. On Saturday, they also left my nails soaking in alcohol for around 30 minutes during the redo process, which left my fingers and skin extremely dry and irritated afterward. To make matters worse, at the end of the appointment the employee took my phone and attempted to leave himself a 5-star review until the app prompted for my login information. That made me extremely uncomfortable. Both Friday and Saturday I was also repeatedly pressured to purchase additional services I did not want, and I was handed a menu for another business the employee works at in town. This was honestly one of the worst salon experiences I've had, and I'm very sad that what was supposed to be a special Mother's Day experience with my mom turned into this instead. I didn't have to wait at all, Ricky got right to work and made all my nail dreams come true with the length, color and design so beautiful and perfectly done! He educated me as well on other kinds of services i didn't even know existed, for down the road, and I can't wait to try the gel builder he explained to me! We made an appointment ahead of time for two pedicures in the middle of the day. The person I was…read morewith had her service done by who she regularly sees there. But I was very obviously a learning experience for the new person. The first few minutes they literally just filed my wet toenails into all different shapes even though I said I wanted French tip. I looked around and saw a few other workers just hanging around, I was going to ask for someone more experienced but I figured he HAD to be good enough if they gave me him for my service. Fast forward about 20 minutes later my toenail cuticles were not tended to, same thing with any dead skin around my toenail. (gross but let's be for real here, it's part of the service.) As he's painting my toes he's trying to cut and fix my now dry cuticles. Attempting to salvage this experience I guess, wiping stuff off and then recurring my nails, there was 0 method. I had to actually say something about the shape of my toenail once he had "finished" the French tip. It was not even on either side and I was not looking to walk around like that for a month when I could've done a better job myself at that point. Another worker had to redo all of my French tips, and fixed most of the previous mistakes so it was like having a second pedicure. This is all while the person I'm with is finished up just waiting for me. I really do not strive to be difficult but in this economy, going out for a pedicure is a treat and it didn't feel like that. I felt my service was very rushed through and a half ass job. Even tho I came in asking for the same service as who I was with, I definitely did not receive the same attention and care. I didn't even get a hot towel or a half ass foot rub with lotion. I was charged full price but given two small lotions as maybe an apology???? Moral of the story, don't put someone in your store to work that isn't able to execute consistent and quality work. I assume it was the owner I was next to who was just watching TV while all of this happened. I, as a customer, shouldn't feel the need to correct the person doing my service. Being put in a situation where I felt less than important definitely affected the overall experience for me. A pedicure should be a luxury, not a learning experience. This place simply isn't what it used to be. Also it smelled like someone was making ramen noodles in the back and it was gross.
